I imprinted with Sesame Street as well. What children consume matters well into adulthood and beyond. It made me think about mine and other people’s feelings. It helped me to better develop my confidence, concentration compassion. What a show!

This got me all teared up because I'm 51, and I grew up with Maria. Sesame Street was so groundbreaking, and it was the first show where I saw myself in the tv. It showed me the possibilities along with teaching me. So grateful. ❤❤❤❤

She is a national treasure. I never went to preschool as a kid, I just went to Sesame Street everyday. Maria & Louis taught me so much. I learned my first Spanish words and at an early age wanted to learn Spanish. I absolutely loved the entire cast. The show is so much apart of my childhood. Sesame Street was everything. Ms. Manzano has had an impact on so many lives. Such an awesome lady.❤

I was born in 1968 and remember when Sesame Street first came on the air. Ms. Sonya's character of Maria, and all the persons on color being represented on shows like Sesame Street and Zoom, were beneficial on so many levels! Sesame Street showed how we all should get along as human beings, which were valuable lessons thst were being squeezed in between teaching us to read and count! I so loved seeing how Ms. Sonya is still spreading this same love and education to the next generations!❤

I was born in 1972. Oh! I loved, loved, LOVED Sesame Street! It is absolutely my favorite childhood program!! PBS is still my favorite educational channel. Loved this ☺️

I’m 55 and Sesame Street was my favorite show when I was a child. I learned how to read from watching this show. Many moons ago when I lived in Georgia, USA, “Maria” and “Gordon” made an appearance at a shopping center and passed out autographed photos of themselves to everyone who wanted one. I brought my little nephews to see them. I was an adult at the time, however I still have my picture. 😁

I learned how to count from 1 to 10 in Spanish from Maria on Sesame Street. That song is still stuck in my head. Thank you Ms. Sonia Manzano for having such an impact on my youth. P.S. Sesame Street came on 2x per day in Trinidad and I remember how we were so excited to see the wedding of all time between Luis and Maria.

Oh man this made my eyes water. I was born in 83 and feel blessed to have grown up in a time when the adults in children's programming gave us something to aspire to. They were caring, mature, and intelligent. Maria, Gordon, Mr. Rogers, Sherry Lewis, etc. They were ADULTS. That's why PeeWee made me so uncomfortable lol. His show had adults acting bizarrely and not like adults at all and it seemed so strange. Sadly, that was a trend that would become more and now popular over the years.
