My customer is very excited! I have had several dagger requests lately, it used to be big massive bowies now everyone wants daggers. I'm doing a sword in a couple weeks I wonder if the demand will go to swords next????

A paper cut?! Never! I've _neeever_ slit the webbing between my fingers with a fresh sheet of copy paper 😖 😓 lol. Seriously though, that really is some of the most beautiful contrast with chatoyance I've ever seen as well! The shot of it dancing around in the sunlight almost looked as if you used pure nickel sheet instead of 15n20... truly beautiful pattern, Kyle. I'm also really glad to hear that I don't have to go through the trouble of having buy and learn how to properly and safely use _and_ store caustic hot bluing salts to get the contrast in damascus that passes the scrutiny of someone with as much attention to detail and pickiness (the good kind lol) such as yourself. Sweet! I always figured it was mostly just the next best/easiest thing to use besides hot bluing and/or just a food safe alternative, but that's really cool how beautifully it worked. Thanks for sharing your hard-earned processes with us!

Thanks Paul, I'm sharpening this beauty today just about finished, it's petty terrifying I was groaning when I ran her across the stone! One wrong move...ikes

How about using a Tupperware/Rubbermaid Kitchen Dish Drainer Rack? It would be plastic/rubber so it won't scuff or scratch the blade. It can be set over the sink and the water will still drain correctly. Better to have this to rest the longer blades on? I imagine it would work well for the shorter blades also? Keep up the good work, God bless.

Good idea Michael. Do what you can to keep the blade protected. May God bless you and your crew. Dad

That’s out of control! The chatoyance is super apparent at the end. Kyle I’ve followed your work on bladeforums for a long time. You have come a long way brother. Hope to own one of your knives one day.

Awesome blade and chatoyance I cant wait for that handle to go onto it. Personally when I finish out Damascus I always do room temp for 1 hour for a few cycles

Great finish and a terrific pattern. How strong are you making the coffee, I'm leaving it in overnight but I'm getting some discolouring on the 15n20.

That is just amazing, the pattern, contrast and ‘C’ word is mint. Don’t you just want to keep it when it’s that good 😆 Side note: Chatoyance feels like a word that should only be uttered in uptight snooty art galleries in New York, London and Paris. It’s sounds so odd when used by hard working, dirt-handed knife-makers, and the sweaty sooty leather apron crowd named Something-Something-Forge lol😂😂😂
@KyleRoyerKnives
@KyleRoyerKnives 5 лет назад
Thanks it's one of my favorite blades. This will be hard to let go. Chatoyance reminds me of a dance, lol!
