I actually quite like that wife. She's one of the few that genuinely seems to love her husband and care more about him than the money. I'm pretty sure that all the returned POWs get sent straight back as meat assaults but, l wish him luck too.

I'm from England and really enjoy these videos been watching for over a year, obviously the language barrier has been a problem because I only speak English, Volodymyr's generated English accent in this video is excellent clear English and really makes the video more understandable for me, great job! I remember this interview, I watched it in Russian. Now I compared it with the English dubbing: the translation is accurate. It's necessary to clarify that this is not a "mobilized" Russian soldier. He voluntarily signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense, having succumbed to a rather primitive and clumsy blackmail by a military recruitment officer. If he had minimal knowledge of the law, minimal confidence in his rights, or minimal courage, he might have escaped the horror of war. The Russian authorities would not dare prosecute a father of five children, the Russian society would be on his side. Unfortunately, people like this soldier are Putin's support base.

Incredible how apathetic they still are even when you offer them a way out, and confront them about the reality of what they did. I still remember a bunch of interviews when the war had just started and the guys then were at time at least still sorry, or claimed that they would change their ways... the current ones usually just want that phonecall and then act like they were just the bus driver, cook or the waterboy behind the front. Of course, noone ever fired a shot and they all just dug in, without knowing anything... pathetic people.
