Afterthought Thumb Tutorial 

This was truly an eye-opener!!! I struggled so hard with my first mitten and this would have made it so much easier. Thank you for going slow, and explaining each step and why you did it! ❤

Thank you for showing how to use the waste yarn to hold the thumb stitches. i like that you knitted with the waste yarn and then moved the stitches from the waste yarn and knitted them again with the mitten yarn. So easy and straight forward. 🙂 You are awesome!

HOW SIMPLE AND EASY! THANKS!

I'm using this to adapt a pattern that has me casting off 15 stitches for the thumb and casting back on 15 stitches to continue the pattern I have ripped it back several times and can't get it to look nice, if I tried this would I still knit 15 with the waste yarn, because it seems like that would give 30 stitches for the thumb so would I knit 8 onto waste yarn giving me 16 for the thumb which I can cast one off later

How would you approach making 1 stitch on both sides of each front needle and back needle?
