Unloading Kiln #4. This kiln has all of the agateware from a few weeks ago and more. Some tests, some new colors and a few pottery surprises. What do you want to see more of?
If you want to see more work, I post finished pieces more often on my instagram. Follow below:

Absolutely gorgeous pieces! And Jon didn’t send me. Lol it glad you came up on my feed. I’ve been doing pottery a long time and I’ve never seen the bottom do that!!

Thank you so much for all of your fantastically informative videos!!! Sadly, I'm not a potter... yet. I only get watch and dream of having my own studio. Until then, I'll be happy living vicariously through you and a few of your RU-vid compatriots. Thanks again!!!

loved seeing all these.. interesting how similar effects yet you throw and I use molds an slipware.. I am an love with agate ware.. but surprisingly I found what you call funfetti I made sprinkles lol with some success.. pieces I was cleaning I would use potato peeler and keep the shards, sometime peeling thick slices then pressing them into slabs, or place 1st into molds then pour slip, or even mini success with the wheel.. (I am terrible at the wheel, but once thrown, i damped a little then adhered/places these shards around the piece, compressing down of course, but they looked great..) just sad the item didn't survive the kiln ended up with s crack) ceramics is like riding a skate board you fall of and then you get back on it. Tip - to stop drying out, I would place some of the pieces on to dam tea towel.. I also noticed you loved the mini one with the peachy swirl, I wonder, once you have thrown an object what if you add plain coloured shaving in odd shapes? try little bits see what happens? cheers T

Thanks for sharing Patricia. I enjoy hearing what everyone else is working on in their studio practice. That gives me a lot of ideas. And I never stop experimenting. This video was a fun kiln unloading with lots of tests that I learned from. My work has evolved a lot since then in such a short time. I love saving the scraps! Find clever ways to reuse them is a constant thought it my head. Thanks for the comment. Be well!

I'm no expert by any means, but I too was thinking an air bubble. Love the videos, sharing each one. Sorry about the fail, but remember failure is part of being successful.

Right? Sadly, the more I think about it, which is probably too much I keep thinking moisture and air bubble. But yes indeed, I will fail so I can bounce back better than before. Thanks for the inspiration!

They are nice . Wanting to know if the cups are glazed with clear matte glaze . can not figure out what you did for glazing. I just started watching. Like the techniques you teach. Thank you

Thank you! The inside is a white semi transparent. The outsides are left unglazed but sanded smooth.

Like the colors and patterns! I guess you got enamored with twisting the perfectly round cups and it's not so great... Keep up the good work!

Amazing work! I love all of them, you are right they look similar but each piece is unique. Do you have an online shop?

Thank you! At the moment, I do not have a store. I’m slowly getting there. I’ll let you know when I do.

I mean yeah, that could be dunting, but that is generally caused by too rapid of cooling, or a difference of COE between the interior and exterior glazes. Since nothing else had that issue, it's probably not that. Moisture does seem to be more likely, especially since it happened in the bottom, which tends to be the issue with many wares. Regardless, still a good load.

Yeah that makes sense, Ben. I very much appreciate you weighing in on it. One piece out of twenty or so isn’t so bad when I think about it I guess. Thanks for the compliment!

@@CeramicJim I had some student slab boxes have a similar issue. They looked very similar to that. Separation, but still attached.
