Not to worry, you're not supposed to know the new director already (although later on there are hints to a comic book character he's based on). It's hard to know how to feel about him at first... I love how they wait until the end of the episode to clarify that Coulson stepped down as director and requested "a powered person the public can trust" to be the new face of SHIELD. This show is great at giving you answers pretty quickly, even as it's creating more questions!

Notice that when May and Coulson are having their conversation in the locker, May avoids looking at Coulson. She is doing that on purpose because she knows if she looks at him, she will see the demon.

Daisy is in a deep depression. Mac and Fitz mean well, but they can't wave a magic wand and fix that. She has been deeply depressed ever since she was freed from SquidWard's sway. And as for Fitz saying they have all been through things, he didn't have to basically watch powerlessly as Simmons died, the way Daisy did with Lincoln, and know that that death was basically her fault (it's not really, but nothing will ever convince her otherwise).

You kept saying (and getting frustrated) for May to talk to someone about what's happening and I was like "Wait, May? Talk? You HAVE seen her before this episode, right?" 😂

daisy is insanely depressed and guilty over what she did under hive's sway and lincoln sacrificing himself to save her. even though lincoln's death wasn't her fault, she's convinced herself that it is and that she shouldn't be around the people she loves because she's a danger to them. she's pushing the team away to protect them. it's not the best way and it doesn't work, but her mental and physical health are in the trenches right now and she's doing what she thinks she needs to do to protect her family and make amends for her actions and lincoln's sacrifice.

Use to be a big Ghostrider fan at the end of High School. Then the Dan Ketch Ghostrider was new, and they did reprints of the Johnny Blaze Ghostrider. This was a new Ghostrider for me. Pretty good actually.

Daisy is still feeling all of the guilt from when she was under Hive's influence nearly a year later. She has that addict's remorse on top of losing Stinkin Linkin. Fitz was 100% correct to call her out though, none of them turned their back on everyone else when they were dealing with their own traumatic issues like she is to them.

Fun fact! There are a total of 136 episodes and this is episode 68, meaning you're exactly halfway through the show. And please don't be so hard on Daisy. She already hates herself so much she wants to die.

Daisy had nothing to say cause she knew Fitz was right. Daisy is not operating on what she thinks she should do, but what she thinks she needs to do. Still think Chloe was amazing in that moment cause I totally bought she was heartbroken to hear Fitz, of all people to say that about her.
