A bouncer taunting a drunk, walking into the street in response to verbal provocation and telling other bouncers trying to deescalate the situation to "keep out of it" should be fired as a liability. He said "I would have smashed him up!"

alcohol isnt legal, its licensed, hence you need a license to sell it or you sell it illegally, same as cigarettes and will be some day the same as weed, de criminalised. Neither alcohol or tobacco is legal to sell unless youre licensed mate.

@@strachansdroneservices4870 That applies to vendors, we're consumers. It's legal for me to go out and buy alcohol from a store during their opening hours, it's legal to go to a licensed bar and be served alcohol during their opening hours.

That Curtis a "professional"... Uses that sort of language can arguably get him nicked and trying to entice someone into a confrontation is a no no. All of the above can trigger an even worser situation. Man of he's age and experience should known much better.

I was a doorman in Spain at a couple places, the first not so nice, the second pretty good. Rule number 1: Don't let anyone from the British Isles in. There were other rules also but this video shows the reason for rule number 1.

Colchseter is a rough old town I served in the royal marines for over 20 years and I remember a few nights out in that Town , guests of the Paras ( nutters one and all ) we were , you had to be on your toes ...with various lads from the army not to mention the guests of MTCT berechurch and locals . hardmen wannabes and Essex wannabe tough guys ..if you wanted a scrap you would always find someone or some team willing to oblige ....

Don't be disgusted by the punters.It's not a sweetie shop and what pays your wage. If they are too drunk, don't let them in. If they've had enough when in bar staff shouldn't serve them. That's the law and don't gripe about it when you have failed in your roles.

With alcohol intoxication the demon takes over. Most drunks are quiet, almost non existent individuals when sober. The bouncers are not dealing with regular people, they must be very careful with the monsters which surface.

He is exactly the guy you do not want on your door. Had that kid took him up on it that drunk and he'd have hit that kid and he fell and hit his head and died, that club is finished. So again, you don't want a doorman that leaves his post to go on the public property to fight.

I remember those days when the nightclubs and pubs were packed every Friday and Saturday night. Nine out of ten people had a smoke in one hand and a glass of beer or a coke and something in the other. Smokey pool tables with bits of ash scatterred all over the place. People were always loud but fights were relativley fair and rare. I was never much of a dancer but I loved the pool tables. I don't really recall ever having a bad night out. Aside from COVID shutting everything down I can't imagine what going out would be like now.

Does Curtis not understand the law himself ? It is against the law not to have your SIA Licence on display when acting as door security . It cannot be in you top pocket. It must be visible at all times to members of the public.

I've mixed feelings about Colchester, historically and architecturally interesting. However, it suffered like so many towns around London during the post war era when the powers that be decided to kick the scum of the earth out of London and shove them in small adjacent towns, and this is the result.

I left the UK 10 years ago. But for the 10 years before that I had one simple rule. If a place had doorman, I didn’t want to go in. Plenty of good places in London didn’t have doorman

Attempting to instigate a fight against someone who is very clearly in a state of drunken vulnerability is a very bad state of unprofessional behaviour for a door supervisor. In training, you are literally taught to do the opposite of this, I understand this was a couple years ago but the rules still apply regardless. If someome is drunk and being hostile, unless they lay a finger on you, just remain calm and talk to them otherwise you're slapping fire onto fire and creating a blaze.

Alcohol is the best truth serum. It takes off the mask people wear. Two different approaches to security. Both are as effective as the next. The nuclear weapon analogy is a good one. Peace by the fear of mutual destruction. But diplomacy is a less destructive option in most cases.

I've been working in nightclubs in Sweden since 1999 and have not seen bouncers work like these bouncers. It seems that Sweden has more respectful bouncers.
