Agri Fab 42 inch Lawn Sweeper Unboxing Assembly and Use After Dethatching
In this video, I assemble and use my @AgriFab 42" Lawn Sweeper (Pull-Behind Lawn Sweeper 45-0521). I purchased this at Lowe's Home Improvement the same time I purchased my Agri-Fab 40" Tine Tow/Pull-Behind De-thatcher figuring it goes hand-n-hand given how much manual effort is required to rake up a 1/2-acre yard after it's been de-thatched. Assembling the sweeper was not very difficult even though there initially seems to be many parts. Many of the joints are assembled using clevis pins and hairpin cotter pins. Obviously, this grass sweeper would also be perfect in the Fall for raking/collecting leaves off the lawn. I've been impressed with Agri-Fab's quality yard pull-behinds and this tool does an amazing job of powerfully and quickly lifting the thatch left on the top of the grass after using the Agri-Fab lawn dethatcher.
Owning this Agrifab Lawn Sweeper has been a nice addition to my arsenal of tractor-pulled lawn equipment. I've was almost alarmed seeing how much this sweeper collected when I dumped my first couple loads of collected thatch. It's an amazing amount of bio-material and clearly, wasn't breaking down just sitting on the surface of my lawn. I threw these loads of dead grass over my fence which is set back almost four feet from the properly line allowing me a nice strip of my own property on which I can allow these clippings to decompose over time.

As I mention in the video, lifting the dead grass is only the first part. You need a way to remove the dead grass lifted by the dethatcher to remove it from the surface of the lawn and dispose of all this dried grass material. I've raked, wheelbarrowed and bagged this pile of work manually many times in my younger years and I will tell you, it's not fun! I've wasted many, many days spent raking and bagging and or hauling what seems like mountains of dead grass. Now that I have a lawn tractor, it can do the work for me! I also bought the Agri-Fab lawn sweeper to pull behind my tractor which makes collecting the dead grass so much easier. I'll be posting another video using that wonderful pull-behind lawncare maintenance tool.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my Agri-Fab tow-behind tine dethatcher. The lift handle is the only part I'd try to improve if I was on the Agri-Fab design team. It's functional as it is but just barely. I think it could be made so much more convenient, though.
