It’s so good to see avenuex enjoying so much a drama she’s bouncing around, way to convince me to go watch this drama

Chen Xiao eyes are so loaded ! when he looks at people it is as if he looks deep into their souls. One thing I love so far : THEY COMMUNICATE !

Absolutely LOVE the insane sizzling chemistry between the main leads and the way they look at each other, they're litterally in my brain 24/7 these days but i need to point another thing out: I just love love LOVE how feminie this whole drama is! from the visual language to the plot and the characters 😭 I can not believe there's finally a historical drama out there that is about some women who are totally "like the other girls", do girly things and ARE strong at the same time. It's so frustrating to see female characters in every single historical drama being so shallow and obviously written from male fantasies like "she hates embroidery and dancing and cooking and every girly thing cause those suck and she is also not gentle and the only man in the world who sees her and loves her is MALE LEAD" lol Also, It's a really feminist drama but not in a preachy and shove-it-into-your-face way where the characters are screaming about feminism and equality every 5 minutes * coughautumnballadcough *

Yifei and Chen Xiao both have outstanding appearance. Their chemistry in their eyes are full of love. So many romantic kiss scenes also. Splendid.

I have pointed with Chen Xiao's eyes and smiles eversince I watched The Romance of Condor Heroes,, There's no doubt about his acting skill,, he can be seen to be cruel, annoying, fool, cool, gentle, sweet and cute,, so adorable person he is,, for sure

I’m just happy that everyone feels unanimously good about something at last. That’s what the entertainment business should be, instead of making people divided and fandom-fight all the time…

I love the door closing scene! And I love the almost kiss that turned into hug that TURNED INTO NECK KISS 😭😭😭

"after so many years of crappy stuff, finally we have a Dream of Splendor that is really a dream of splendor....." ho ho ho, I share your thoughts in many large exclamation marks! Liu YuFei and Chen Xiao together is like a huge strand of fire crackers lit during Chinese New Year, whoever cast them together really deserves an award for "Epic Casting"!. You get an eye-gasm while watching this drama of the beautiful and the handsome. And Chen Xiao, the expression in his eyes deserves an award...even from far, one can "see" the passion for his woman in every glance and every stare! 🤩

For me, the best thing about this drama is that it’s more realistically done, with few of the silly conventions I see elsewhere. The comparison you drew between the Chinese dramatist and Shakespeare was not lost on the director. The heroine washing her hands after a shameful deed is straight out of Macbeth, whereas the scene where she goes out on the balcony and he gazes at her from the boat is a wonderful reminiscence of the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. I wish the pipa playing were done better, really the actress could have put in some effort. There is also the difference in audio that really shouldn’t be there, this is really a lack in film craftsmanship. I mean, the film is visually gorgeous, has good actors, why neglect the music scenes?

I'm especially happy with how they displayed the desires well as they're all adult..finally avenuex has a drama that brings her to hop and being so happy..I'm just waiting for this to end so I can start watching..

At first, I watched it for liu yifei. And I almost stopped around ep 2 and 3 cuz of plot holes but I continued and it got better. The cp is really good. They made me squeal with joy. The eps where pang er and her ex confront are boring. When ml returned, I was screaming with joy. I really like side characters in this a lot.

This drama is something we all needed for so long. It's not perfect by any means, but damn is that eye candy!!! The story is dare I say juice as hell. I adore this drama so far🤭

I stumbled upon this drama by accident and I love it so much I paid for Tencent subscription 😭😭😭 Their chemistry is no joke and even scenes without them together are still interesting. I think the leads definitely show that they’re mature actors. I hope there’s more dramas with strong leads like this in the future.

Im truly enjoying it finally feels like after a long time. After so many poorly done productions. It feels nice!!!! The best thing about having beautiful faces that actually look good in this drama is the lead couple is naturally very good looking that the male lead didn’t have to wear layers of white powder and makeup to match the FL. He looked as natural as his emotions. Every man deserves to be hypnotized like the way a Goddess like beauty Crystal Liu does to the male lead and every woman deserves to be adored and looked at the way Chen Xiao looks at Crystal in this drama! Top notch chemistry and emotions between a lead pair!

I totally get it when you said I am too mesmerized by Yifei's beauty and forgot to understand the story..hahhahahaha...even the way when she subtlely scratches her head between the line also look so authentic...

Classic "drama" about production of a drama. But the show is fun. The issues are noticeable but they have fun with them. It's a relaxing watch.

Liu Yifei improves a lot from her younger drama days (it's been 16 years afterall). I watched some of her movies, but never felt special or related to her acting. Like you said, in other dramas she was like a super pretty non-reactive, and that made her character somewhat stick out like a needle left on the cloth. I'm not saying she doesn't act, it's just her acting doesn't resonate with her costar's, and hence doesn't have strong impact on viewers. But she does well in this drama. I think the chemistry w/ Chen Xiao helps in making her character blend in the narrative, makes it alive and relatable. I last watched CX in a drama with Angela Baby. I think I have to go dig up some of his later works. He matures well.

But... there are others, for sure, very handsome and good, really good actors, in my opinion, which could/should be engaged more in "good" drama (costume drama or whatever) as they are by now. One of them is the very talented and not-so recognized, beautiful/beautiful Xu Zheng Xi. You have never (if I am not wrong) spent a word about that very very very good costume drama called The legend of the Phoenix... there, Xu ZhengXi was masterly committed and playing "legendary"... (only one example)... he is also such a good interpreter of "comic" situations... but, even if he is such an handsome and serious actor... he is not born under a lucky star, I suppose....
