I feel the same way as Alex. Despite having watched every season of Rebels, I personally don't enjoy it very much; very kiddish. Characters like Erza don't do it for me. I wouldn't say that Rebels is a bad show as there are a few good episodes.

What the heck AJ? I get that you like the series but there's no need to fangirl so hard over it. You didn't even let the boys give their review scores, you dropped a big 9/10 and ended the video handwaving the issues the others might have had. That's unprofessional and in my opinion the video isn't complete, and frankly that's totally rude man. I get that you don't like that Alex disagreed with you, but it's just his opinion, you don't have to take it personally. You're better than this.

Seeing AJ's grinning, hype and praise in the opening immediately made me fast forward to OJs and Alex's opinion😆. And, he's even arguing against their opinions and giving examples of other media to say "well, but it was like that for this, or same thing for that"... I wasn't looking for some fanboy review who gets hype off member-berries and fanservice. I wanted an actual objective (as possible) opinion. Everyone shits on Alex for being critical, but that's why they need him, and I'm glad he's there. Critical is good. Nitpicky and anal about it is bad

I'm sort of conflicted because on one hand I'm happy to see Thrawn in live action, but It feels weird having read the Heir to the Empire trilogy (amazing btw). It's still early so I don't want to write it off, but I cant help but feel they are going to attempt a bastardized version of his character and that overall story here.

I agree with Alex, I never got into the animated series. If it was made to look like the Starship trooper animated show, that felt a bit more less cartoony. But so far I like the visuals of Ahsoka. No characters so far feel annoying or patronising characters like Halo's KWAN!!!

Why didn’t Shn behead Sabine after pulling the saber out? Or just swipe sideways cutting her in two? A saver through the body is no longer fatal

It definitely feels like this is a show meant for Rebels fans, so unfortunately, since I haven’t seen Rebels yet, I can’t really say I’ve had much interest in watching this

12:45 Yeah this is my issue with rebels in general. I get it Ashoka has been through allot but I thought most of her arc in clone wars was learning how the jedi lost their way. Why she decided to became just as reserved, stoic and kinda disconnected is beyond me.

It had all the amazing Disney Star Wars Tropes, Getting ran through by a lightsaber then being slightly wounded and a MASSIVE explosion from self destructing droids that made literally no sense at all.

Is it just me or does Ashoka fold her arms a lot? Like, I can't unsee it, she does it all the time.

The villains are the best part of the show so far. They just feel incredibly fresh, mysterious, and aren’t comically evil.

There's a perfect contrast of opinions between all three of these men and I'm here for it I like Ashoka episodes and wanna see what happens next but I see where all point of views are coming from

regardless if you like the story or not, the actual filming quality is pretty good, a massive step up from kenobi.

I thought it felt a little cheap that Sabine is now a Jedi. I can’t believe that half of the rebel crew are just force sensitive enough to where they could be Jedi. It felt like we went from Luke being the last jedi to jedis popping up in every piece of Star Wars media we get.

Expecting it to shit the floor in tops episode 4. Hoping it's NOT the case, but the track record is not good

I think the issue with this MacGuffin thing is that, they didn't explain it very well. In this case, the map is not meant FOR finding Thrawn, the map was originally for finding THAT Galaxy, that specific planet. I guess they explain more of it in episode 3 when they say they are following the migrating Whales. It's another thing where you have to have watched Rebels to understand what happened to Ezra and Thrawn in the first place. It's not like they both got in a ship and just went to hide and this map just happens to know where they went even though it's been buried for a millennia lol. I suppose they probably hoped that people would figure that out on their own, but the Sequels ruined that

For anyone confused about the time period The last season of Rebels takes place a year before The Battle of Yavin and the Galactic Civil War or OT takes about four years. Then Mandalorian Season 1-2 takes place five years after Return of the Jedi. Ahsoka takes place immediately or relatively close to the fifth season of Mando season 2 where Ahsoka captures the night sisters which means that 10 years have passed since the battle of Lothal or when Ezra and Thrawn both went into hyperspace. That makes Sabine 29 years old, Ahsoka is 45, and Hera is 37. That also means that Ahsoka has two years of time to play with since Mando and Boba Fett take place two years apart from each other and since we haven’t seen it, we hopefully will see Ahsoka finding out about Luke at the end of this season and having the two meet.

Why does Disney insist that you can just take a Lightsaber to the gut and walk it off first obi Wan and now ahsoka I remember back in the day if you got hit by a lightsaber you would either die or lose a limb

Episode 1 was weak for me. Everyone seemed idiotic and I agree with Alex, Sabine in episode 1 was wholly unlikable. Thankfully it got better, but its a tired trope. Episode 2 was better and renewed my interest in the show going forward. I do have to say I agree with Alex again with the lightsaber stuff, enough with people living through major lightsaber wounds.

I'm mostly liking Ahsoka so far. It looks promising but I wouldn't place it that high yet among my favorites after only two episodes. I like the early callbacks to The Phantom Menace, Rogue One, and A New Hope. With no House of the Dragon S2 this year, Ahsoka sorta quenches our thirsts for any MCU/DC/SW/GRRM/nerdy content this August. I do find it slow in parts but Andor started much slower and it ended up finishing well after Ep 3 once Luthen showed up to plant the early seeds for the Rebel Alliance. Ahsoka is very stoic and quiet, so there's a lot of dead silence. The series gets these awesome fight scenes for a couple of minutes and then things slow down to a crawl for another 10 to 20 minutes of little talking and humor like you're watching 2001: A Space Odyssey. I'm not completely digging Sabine Wren yet. I find her a bit too emo. Obviously, she misses Ezra and that's not Ezra Miller. She's almost a cross between a bratty young Leia and Reva. She's Mandalorian but doesn't follow the rules. I like her enough but I'm not completely invested into caring about her or her motives yet. I think she drags the pacing down a bit. Disney is sorta doing it again. Is this about Ahsoka or Sabine? Just like Din Djarin took over The Book of Boba Fett by Ep 5 and essentially saved it from being the worst SW content ever. Just like Obi-Wan was really Reva's story. Just like The Mandalorian S3 became Bo-Katan's story. BTW, does Sabine have Wolverine's healing powers? Qui-Gon Jinn didn't survive the same type of cut from Darth Maul's stab. Fennec Shand needed mechanical parts for her tummy to revive her. Sabine heals like the very next day! Did she drink the Living Waters of Mandalore to heal that fast? The plot armor is strong with this one. Too bad Bacta tanks weren't invented before Qui-Gon got killed and it wasn't like Sabine was put in one to heal her wounds. Great to see Clancy Brown getting more work. I'm now aware he voices Savage Oppress in Rebels. Byron Hadley is my favorite character in The Shawshank Redemption (1994). "You either shut the f*ck up or I sing you a lullaby!" Clancy also voiced Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok. "It's a crown." Mary Elizabeth Winstead getting a Star Wars role thanks to being married to Prequel Obi-Wan in real life. She looks like a young Lynda Carter in her green Twi'lek getup. Her eyes really shine wearing that headdress. I think her character is just whatever. Doesn't bring humor to it but neither does most of the cast. The standout to me is actually the one Tyrone Magnus mocks with the staring: *Shin* *Hati* (portrayed by Ukranian, Ivanna Sahkno). She reminds me of *Chiaki* *Kuriyama* in Battle Royale (2000) and Kill Bill Vol. 1. Has this same maniacal doll face stare. Think M3GAN earlier this year. Or an evil version of Hit-Girl from the Kick-Ass films. Another character Shin reminds me of is Pom's Paris in Dead Reckoning Part One. I want an action figure of that savage little bitch! I thought some of the action sequences were really cool. Some moves looked cooler than all the cool ones Yoda did in Revenge of the Sith. But I do think the lightsaber fight between Shin vs. Sabine looked a little too amateurish in Ep 1. I don't expect these actresses to wield a lightsaber like Hayden and even Adam did in The Rise of Skywalker. They're just not as skilled and athletic enough, so they looked like they were noobs to their fight. I can tell the most experienced with the lightsaber is Rosario Dawson. Her moves are very simple but her stances looks fluid and confident when she swings them. Rosario probably trained the longest for it that Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ivanna Sahkno didn't do for as long. I'm not saying Rosario is as good as Hayden, Ewan, and Adam, and she's already in her 40s, but she's the best from this cast so far from what I've seen. I'm just happy for Rosario. First time I saw her was in Kids (1995). A controversial NC-17 film along with Showgirls and I remember seeing it on TV during my high school freshman year. I've seen Rosario in He Got Game, Men In Black II, Alexander, Clerks II, both Sin City films, and Zombieland: Double Tap. I'm really happy she has a character she will forever be remembered by although she's probably a bigger Star Trek fan and knows Klingon. When I saw Clone Wars (2008 film), Ahsoka was about 16. After two episodes so far, I might put Ahsoka above The Phantom Menace. I got it at 10th. I'm still not sure if I like it more than Obi-Wan which I found mid. I'm seeing the same mistakes with this that the previous SW series did but could trend up very quickly. Call it Ahsoka when it should be called Sabine. I do like Ahsoka Tano more than Rey Palpatine. The actress who portrays Sabine is beautiful. I think Daisy Ridley is beautiful too. I never saw the sequel to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, so Natasha is still new to me. Beautiful actress but I'm just not sure if I'll care about Sabine by the end of this series as it seems like it's her hero (or heroine) journey and redemption arc and not from the titular character. It is cool that Ahsoka trained a Mandalorian to become a Jedi. That's new to me. You can already see the major crossover between the two shows is imminent. My favorite female character from The Mandalorian remains The Armorer but I do like Bo-Katan and didn't mind S3 centered around her. Reason why I like Shin Hati the most so far other than Ahsoka is because I finally see a deranged and *eager* female badass that I've never seen before in live-action SW form. She's kinda like a female version of Darth Maul but I also like that she asks questions. If you see other photos of Ivanna, she does give that same stare like she does in Ahsoka. Dollface and robotic like M3GHAN. Wide-eyed. Doesn't blink much. Ready to kill on the spot. I believe Shin Hati doesn't seem to trust Morgan Elsbeth and will later kill her master, Baylan Skoll, after a failed attempt at killing Morgan and the fact the actor for Baylan already died. She looks like she's holding a secret. But I don't necessarily see her turning good. She might have an ax to grind with the Nightsisters or just seeking for more power like Anakin did. There's a theory on Reddit that Shin could also be Mandalorian? Let's not forget, Sith apprentices kills their masters all the time in attempt for more power. After watching this I was further inspired to go see Rebels. I have to say, discounted Simon Cowell is so wrong. I’m 2 episodes in and storm troopers are being killed left and right. Even their own commander kicks one into the abyss. 🤨

Oh man I can't wait to see how Joe sours on this series by the final episode. He never seems to learn... You would think after all those disasters from Disney, Joe would be a little less generous with the praises lol. Good thing AJ and Alex tend to be the counter weight to Joe's enthusiasm. I think Joe needs a break from smoking up, feels like he never has both feet on solid ground anymore lol.

Couldn't agree with OJ more, its the same old plot devices again and again. When Ahsoka told Sabine she couldn't take the map with her it just immediately lets you know oh ok so she's definitely gonna take the map, and if she takes the map she obviously going to lose it to the enemy straight away or shes gonna crack it open and then lose it straight away. That whole sequence I was just waiting for the enemy to turn up, it kills tension doing the same thing over and over and over again. IMO we don't have story tellers any more we have the writing equivalent of a person putting a jigsaw puzzle together. Trying to make a different product out of the same pieces over and over

1st episode was bad. I thought map puzzle would be something smart and unique, but instead it was a child lock with a few possible combinations. 😂 Ahsoka and her droid never thought of spinning all the possible combinations. 😅

I agree with Alex that rebels is more for kids compared to clone wars. I grew up with both being 5 when clone wars first came out and being 11 when rebels first came out. I never really liked rebels because it felt childish especially compared too clone wars which acted very serious with having lots of death and betrayal and focusing on politics. Definitely would recommend clone wars over rebels especially after season 2 of clone wars

I think Angry Joe's perspective is a great voice to have, a bit of positivity, hope and boosterism is what makes me smile. I thought Ashoka was incredibly boring having watched all of Rebels but just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean its not worth hearing what they have to say :)

I really enjoy this show, but I do also agree with OJ that the "here's a map-thingy" plot is getting a bit tiresome, especially since it has never made a whole lot of sense imo to create a map and then just leave it for anyone to find. You'd think if you would bother to make a map to where you're going you'd want to leave it with your allies and not potentially allow the badguys find and just come and kill you.

Ashoka feels way too stiff in these first 2 episodes. She was more charismatic in Mando and clearly that is near the time we first met her in the show as the opening shows us the jail break of witch lady.

heir to the empire died for this BS. The idea that Anakin had a secret padawan during the clone wars, that we never see on film, is such a cheap retcon... Who thought this was in any way beneficial to Anakin's character or story arc? He's an extremely disturbed individual, even from a young age the teen angst was strong with him. Almost no emotional control, multiple mental disorders/PTSD from his life as a slave to his mother dying. He almost wasn't admitted to train himself as a Jedi, the council never fully trusted him and now all the sudden they gave him a padawan? Sucks.

Rebels is definitely a true children's show. Clone Wars appealed to all demographics as signified by the cast of adult characters. Cant really argue this.

How can you say this a hit, its full of women, white man dies as usual, the puzzle could be done by a two year old, the map could be solved by a 1 year old and as always light sabre stabs are just a one day in hospital events. The script is so bad especially with the long long pauses. I think you've watch so much rubbish your being brainwashed into thinking this is good. Sit back and think for a while

It was good, but I was a little disappointed that they are going back to find the secret map trope. I also thought the pacing was a little slow. They really need to establish who some of these characters are in why people should care who have never seen rebels. They need to stop with all the hero poses in the light saber fights, and can light sabers actually be dangerous so another character gets stabbed in the abdomen and is just fine. Some of the acting in line delivery was a little suspect there were these weird pauses from when Rosario Dawson would say a line and then the next person responds. It was just a weird back-and-forth. That was very unnatural.Baylan’s light saber fight was very wooden on the republic ship as well. I never watched Rebels, but Ahsoka and Sabine are really cool characters. Shin seems like she could be awesome too. Curious what the third member of Daft Punk, the inquisitor, is all about. Sabine being a Jedi or force sensitive is a mistake. Sabin has a history of the Mandalorian. Why can’t she just be a bad ass fighting Mandalorian I don’t like that. She had a light saber, her and all that kind of stuff.

Someone tell Alex that first season was indeed unbearable and infantile but it get's sooooooo much better and darker over time. It is worth watching to experience the conclusion of Maul/Kenobi story alone. It was the same with Clone Wars, got better with every season.

Joe Alex is right about rebels not having as much stakes, but I think alex is being a bit harsh on Ahsoka, because it does seem more mature like clone wars.
