I love when Edgeworth called an objection just to act shocked and say nothing.

I love how nobody is even slightly perturbed by the fact that White is a practitioner of the Dark Arts and that the only hang-up is that he cant summon demons, because they are too powerful.

I love how like multiple people admitted to committing the crime but in the end none of them were actually guilty

in the end edgeworth wakes up in a cold sweat and says “that was the weirdest nightmare i’ve ever had”

I like how Larry wasn't born in New York, yet lived there until he was 4. And that the reason he did live in New York was because he wanted to be a detective, implying he wanted to be a detective since as soon as he was born and so his family moved to New York because their newborn wanted to try something new by becoming a detective.

When you’re so hated that both the Prosecutors and Defense are attempting to prove you guilty

Honestly, it's _only natural_ that, since no actual murder took place, Edgeworth would bring in an updated birth certificate instead of an updated autopsy report.

Imagine being called to the stand as a murder witness, only to be cross-examined by the prosecution AND defense attorney after answering the first question (name and occupation) and almost being locked up in a psychiatric hospital in the first minute of the trial

They're talking about how he killed a clown when the clown is literally right there

"I don't dislike him, per say. I just don't think he should get off scott-free for killing my mother's beloved clown, that's all."

I love how edgeworth has a moment of sanity and is like "Wait, wait that doesnt make any sense, why are you trying to disprove your own theory?" or when edgeworth says "Your daughter isnt your daughter anymore, its your girlfriend Daphne" and phoenix just says "what?"

The moment Larry called Edgeworth to the stand is the moment I officially died

"Your alibi is paper thin!" "Are you sure?" "Yes." "Uh huh."

I think, out of all of it, my favorite part is still simply the mental image of Larry Butz of all people in a cool white mask brandishing a sword at midnight.

At some point this stopped being "who was the killer" and became "who was the killed"

I liked when Edgeworth said objection and Wright objected his objection before he even said anything

This is less like an Ace Attorney case with a defense, prosecution, judge, and witnesses and more like a Danganronpa case where everyone throws around wild accusations until something sticks.

it hits all the right beats in all the wrong ways lol

I think I sussed out the plot. Henry claimed that an anonymous caller claiming to be a magician was behind the killing. He singles out Daphne as being innocent, but we later learn that she was the Magician's apprentice. Her actions around the time of the murder were called out as suspect. This is where I think things go South. Henry, believing Larry killed his mother's favorite clown, faked his own death to frame him. (Also, maybe Henry became a clown because his mother loved them?) But Daphne was rushing home and trying to establish the car accident as an alibi for her and Larry. Despite working for the Magician, she really DID love Larry, and was trying to stop him from being framed. Ema is also on Larry's innocent, hence why she questions why Henry seems to dislike him. Now, why did Henry reveal that the car accident was sabotage? To set the suspicions back on Daphne. This worked, because Phoenix immediately suspects her. With Daphne and the magician being the primary suspects, he can safely admit to hiring the magician - a much lighter crime than actually being the murderer. Frank saw two people in white masks with red lips at the scene of the accident, claiming that they're a woman and the defendant - Larry, and likely Daphne. Maybe Larry was in on the car accident for an alibi, but I don't think he's actually smart enough to be part of anyone's plan. Most likely, the other guy was actually the Magician, and he helped arrange the car accident to give them an alibi. Keep in mind that magicians are experts at slight of hand, illusions, and tricking people, and the mask would conceal his face. He and Daphne probably made themselves obvious to Frank so he would be absolutely sure the witnesses were there at the time. Why would the Magician do this? Perhaps he changed his mind on the case and decided to protect his apprentice and Larry. With the "murderers" out of the way, they can't commit the "murder," and Henry's plan is foiled. Larry accusing Edgeworth was just him being desperate to save himself. But it's also there to show that he clearly doesn't think things through, even when it's absolutely crucial to do so. He's too stupid to have planned anything, much less a murder or an alibi. But wait, there's more! Larry has step-children, but is engaged to Daphne. Daphne can't be the mother of Henry and Ema, because that would mean they hired her boss to kill his employee's fiancé. But what if the first woman dumped Larry (because he's Larry), and he's now with Daphne? She probably dumped him because she, too, suspected him of murdering the clown. Now, who killed the original clown? Daphne. Phoenix says so. He also says that she "couldn't bear to tell [her] boyfriend," likely because it would mean admitting to being the one who ruined things between him and his ex-wife. But Daphne is also Larry's daughter. Either his biological daughter, or t his step-daughter, with the woman. She killed the clown, but Larry was mistaken for the killer by her (step-)mother and Henry. This killed her parents' relationship. She felt guilty. So, years later, she disguised herself as Daphne and became her father's girlfriend. The Magician later shows up to confirm that the crime was all fake, and that no one was actually murdered. In fact, the police purposely created this case to spits him. Now keep in mind that Henry also purposely created this case to spite someone, meaning that they're connected somehow. Why would he hire someone to commit a crime, when is side wanted him to fail? Simple: he KNEW Daphne was the Magician's apprentice, and might have suspected that she was involved with the clown's death. With the help of the police, he purposely hired the Magician to fake his death, so he could frame Larry AND Daphne. The police assisted him because it would mean taking down the Magician's apprentice and hopefully getting more information out of her. And so, the story is this: Henry believed that his step-father, Larry, killed his mother's favorite clown. In order to get revenge, he hired an assassin, the Magician, to help him fake his death and frame Larry for murder. He also plans to frame Larry's fiancée, Daphne, as he suspects that she might have been involved in the clown's murder. To pull this off, he gets help from the police, who want to arrange this fake crime in order to trap the Magician. Daphne happens to be the Magician's apprentice, the clown's actual killer and is secretly Larry's daughter. She doesn't want her fiancée/father to be punished for her sins. With Henry's plan is already in motion, the Magician helps Daphne arrange a car accident, so she and Larry would have an alibi and thus can't be convicted of murder. Henry figures out this betrayal and tries to point things toward Daphne, incriminating himself in order to take her down with him. He likely doesn't know that she's the actual killer, which makes this a happy coincidence. Boom. Larry was just a guy who was accused of two separate murders, when really he was just a small part of two warring factions' game of secrets and lies.

Ah yes, the classic court case where the victim of a murder switches five times but nobody actually died.

Everybody’s talking about “the worst source of information: my parents”, but they’re sleeping on “Indeed, I have been wanted by the law for decades. I’m not stopping now.”

I like how after Gumshoe got fired from the LAPD, Edgeworth hired him on as his personal bartender. What a great friend Edgeworth is.

Just love the plot twists around every corner. “What are you a clown?” “No, but you MURDERED A CLOWN” “ :O “

The part where Edgeworth demands the witness be sent to a psychiatrist fucking breaks me every time.

Wright employs the classic strategy of calling his own witness a liar.

Ron DeLite saying he's been wanting for decades by the police with Fragrance of Dark Coffee playing in the background has horrifying vibes.

"I got home at ten o'clock." "Yes, he was there with me five minutes before closing time, at twelve o'clock."

6:54 **Edgeworth gets accused of murder** "My name is Miles Edgeworth. I am a *LAWYER.* I practice *LAW* in this city." "I am currently serving as the *PROSECUTOR OF THIS CASE."* The amount of repressed anger. Edgeworth is so done with everything.

"That's why I didn't get arrested, I was tipped off by the police officer who framed me." I don't think that's how it's supposed to work.

This story is something else. It flows perfect, yet every sentence is either contradicting the last one, or some new person is on screen being the murdered murderer trying to prove themselves guilty and innocent.

Larry called the most witnesses to the stand in this case

"The car was upside down, and the driver was slumped over the wheel." Excuse me how

The murder victim shows up alive less than two minutes in, but they still spend the entire trial trying to frame Larry for his death. ... So, pretty much like canon :v

"I did not kill that clown" well clearly you didn't he's sitting right there

Judge: Orde- Phoenix: TAKE THAT Why did I laugh at that..

I love how Larry calling a witness actually kinda makes sense - Larry gets flustered and tries to call a witness himself, Edgeworth in turn is left speechless at how stupid this is and the judge, being the judge, goes along with it without question

"Yes. I am a clown. That is all I have to say." this long pause in this line fucking killed me

This is like a poorly written plot that’s exciting enough to be a masterpiece. Also since I’ve never seen a real Ace Attorney case, so it looks completely real to me

Imagine being able to play an unlimited number of cases of Ace Attorney, just by generating a new case each time. If they're as funny as this, I'm sold! You could call it: "Unlimited Ace Attorney!"

I like how in the middle of that Larry randomly tries to incriminate Edgeworth, before the entire room gives up on it like two minutes later.

I guess the judge was really tired that day, and just allowed everyone to go on a tangent and accuse whoever, like "Yeah, whatever, I'll allow it"

The only inaccurate thing in this was how few pay cuts Gumshoe got.

"The defense would like to argue why the court should not declare the defendant guilty." I was going to say something like "No shit, that's literally his job," but then I realized that I'm not sure what anyone is trying to do here anymore?

This is just one power move after another. Also one of my favorite lines: "Why are you trying tk disprove your own theory?"
