Congratulations to the team that put this tutorial together. It is a really useful took for improving ukemi and I plan to introduce some of the drills into our Aikido club. Well done and thank you.
Love it! Some of those exercises were already in our curriculum, but there's a great number of new inspirations (some of which will be tried and tested at my class tonight). Thank you for sharing!
Klaus Meßlinger By the way, I've included this link in our "aikido videos worth watching page" on our website :-) aikido-oberursel.de/en/mediapage/basic%20forms
Hello. I started studying Aikido about 6 years ago a few years after moving to Japan. You have a very clear teaching style and I get the impression you are also very compassionate. You have an artist's face when you practice. I have a feeling I'm going to learn a lot from your material. Where are you located? Thanks for posting!
Thanks! I appreciate your words. Our Dojo is located in middle Europe (Lithuania), city Siauliai. If you ever travel around, you're always welcome to visit!
The heart of a human being is no different from the soul of heaven and earth. In your practice always keep in your thoughts the interaction of heaven and earth, water and fire, yin and yang. Morihei Ueshiba🍁
This was really cool! I especially like the rolling stuff! I might try using some of these! I'm pretty much a total newbie and I always find that I'm very stiff and choreographed (I can feel that my back isn't rounded so I "thud" and I also always have to think before I roll and get stuck in a loop of rolling from and to the same positions when practicing without a partner). Thanks for this video! Lots of food for thought :)
Leandro Revuelta Hey Leandro, actually we have already done a tutorial for the #47. You can find it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d2GrsliD4rQ.htmlm29s Good luck!
+Rodrigo Marquez Hello Rodrigo. Thank you for your support. Actually we just released a tutorial for a very similar Ukemi, you can find it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LoAqwvTg-WI.html . In the video you'll see a front version. I will make sure to make a backward one as well as soon as I can and I will let you know when it's out!
No one has written that such a video can not be viewed, because the transitions between the cuts blink a dark background, which makes viewing the video very unpleasant. It is better to do either without such a transition, or with some effect, but definitely not such a blinking black background.
thx for the vid rokas sensei :) please can you made tutorial backward facing roll, because i'm not good with this ukemi technique and make my back hurts
Hi Deslon! Thanks for liking the video. I believe I've already made a backward facing roll video. Here is a link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EscyQmsZZkM.htmlm26s . Let me know if it helps and if you need more! Good luck training
+Stephen Macken Thanks! It's touched upon in the Ikkyo Tutorial bit.ly/1QwzDdp , but actually it would be great to make one specifically for it. I can commit into releasing it on October 8th, since I've scheduled a few requested tutorials already, but I'll try to make it very full and well covered, to compensate for the wait.
+Stephen Macken Dear Steven, these last couple of weeks were quite busy, so I will be running late with your video. Really sorry for that. I will do my best to post it next week.
One hand supports the weight of the body so that the other one could more easily adjust and distribute the weight. That is if I understood the question right
Ronald Vargas Sup I’ve been trying some of the rolls on my own. There is no way of not hurting yourself doing these on your own for the first time, everything is way easier when you have an instructor that shows you what your doing wrong, so that you can improve. The worst injuries I’ve had is, sore shoulders and bruised knees. But as they say no pain no gain. Good luck do your best.
+Enes Aytek Hi, yes, but unfortunately right now it's only in my native language. I am looking into making an English website too. What would you be looking for in it? Here is a link to my current website just in case: www.dodzo.lt/
Is it even remotely possible for a person to learn Aikido all on his own? What about people that have no access to a dojo? It is a very unhappy moment to sit and watch on the internet, definitely uncool.
+paul trainer I am doing my best to provide videos that could help even people with no Dojo to learn. The last video, with tons of details and in-depth explanation is here: bit.ly/1MEeo6Z . And that covers only two basic rolls, from at least 6. But if you are really willing to learn, you can try it! Unfortunately, a lot of Aikido would be very hard to learn through video, but you can try to get some basic knowledge into yourself, and of course, make sure to train carefully. It would be good to check from time to time with someone on your progress. Once more, I'll share, that I am planning to make very detailed videos to help beginners learn, but right now, there doesn't seem to be any other videos like that on RU-vid.
Good evening, fortunately I have a friend or two to communicate verbally about the concepts and physical activities. One guy is a retired Aikido(er) and he does show me small items. I have managed to get a gi and am sticking to tracksuit with no shoes right now. I really really appreciate the help, I bet there are alot more people that like your videos. dont Stop! Thanks once again for the advise. :)
