In the game Yggdrasil , Ainz (as Momonga) was renowned for the number of spells he could keep memorized.

Shalltear has a big advantage over Ainz, even Albedo can't beat Shalltear in a 1v1 match, there's a high chance that Ainz could lose so Demiurge's point is very valid.

The Goal of All Life is Death: This special skill is one of Ainz's most powerful abilities and comes from the maximum level (5) in Eclipse. Eclipse is one of the hardest classes to get because it requires an Overlord with spells specialized in necromancy and instant death type magic. The Eclipse class lets the user become a true lord of death, a life-consuming Eclipse. It strengthens the instant death effect of magic and skills to the point of bypassing any immunity or resistance and killing their targets after a certain amount of time has passed. Ainz uses this special skill with '(Widen Magic) Cry of the Banshee,' and it kills everything in 100 meters. The cool-down of this special skill is a 100 hours duration. It's not possible to resist death spells enhanced by this special skill unless one uses a resurrection effect on themselves within 12 seconds. This special skill is considered to be the trump card of the Eclipse-class. In the Overlord Bonus Volume, more than 400,000 zombies, and quite possibly more than a million of them shielding Cure Elim Los Malvar died as a result from this special class skill, [The Goal of All Life is Death], which buffed [Iä Shub-Niggurath].

Her build was quite clever in the game. She has a weapon that deals heavy life steal giving her high sustain. She has her blood pool skill that can give her effectively limitless mana, so long as she remains in combat. Her blood frenzy (in the game) made her stronger the more enemies she kills, without the crazy side effect. As the first guardian to the entrance to the tomb any potential invaders would be reluctant to waste too much mana or skills on her, prefering to save them for later on in the tomb. Players might be inclined to send summons or mercenary NPCs at her, which is a horrible idea. This is to her advantage, as her strength lies in a battle of attrition, and enemies that try to start off conservatively only allow her time to ramp up her strength and start stacking her blood pool and blood frenzy. By the time players realise that she only grows stronger the longer she fights it might already be too late. A smart player observing the fight might realise that they can no longer take it easy on her and attempt to deal massive burst damage on her in a bid to kill her instantly. However she has time reversal skills that can instantly reverse any damage done during a certain time, making it impossible to defeat her with burst damage, unless a lot of players commit their full power against her consecutively. Meanwhile, her strength is still growing due to her blood pool and blood frenzy, allowing her to spam magic like her own summons or heal herself and attack. Next, her Einherjar is created with the exact same stats as her, meaning at the very least it has her base stats. In the worst case scenario for invaders the Einherjar has her blood frenzy stacks, making it stupidly strong, and effectively doubling her combat power because anyone killed by the duo in the much more difficult fight only makes Shalltear even stronger. Finally, once she has been defeated only after multiple possible casualties and enemy players having expended most of their skills and mana, she has a ressurection item on her that brings them right back to step one. At best, she loses her stacks, at worst she still has blood pool and blood frenzy stacked up and she is still strong as hell. Also, each floor is tailored to be to the floor guardians advantage, somehow buffing them while somehow negatively affecting invaders. The best way to beat her is to annihilate her immediately with full power without holding back, and to keep attacking until she can't reverse the damage and dies, then you have to kill her again. Players that try to conserve their power for later only allow her time to grow too strong for them to beat. Her design and placement being optimised for that purpose is strategic genius. She is the first floor guardian that enemy players encounter, literally the first opponent before *everything else* in the tomb. This is step one. The following guardian's placement is just as much of a tactical genius' move as Shalltear, but spoilers.

7:01 you feel like its not the usual ainz because you interpreted the odds wrong. Ainz is in a massive disadvantage here. not only in class disadvantage but he cannot use most of his skills as it will just heal up shalltear. shalltear is a insane boss made up of crap full of op skills. normal people cant defeat her even in a team and here we have ainz trying to fight her solo. there's always that one youtuber who will find a way to beat the game solo lol

You forget the after ending scene

When it talks about maximized magic, it is an element from the original video game. Normally the magic spell will do a certain amount of damn. It's like between 1 and 10or between 100 and 1000 so on and so forth. Maximize magic means that the spell will do the maximum amount of damage instead of a random amount. The creator of this anime and the white novel that it came from a huge fan of dungeons& dragons. The concept of adding special abilities onto the spell itself is called metamagic. You will find that there are a lot of direct corollaries between this anime and dungeons of the dragons, especially when you consider the level-based system for spells.

Demiurge is the one Floor Guardian who looks the most sketchy and likely to turn, yet he's down right the most loyal one of them all; to an absolute fault. His level of loyalty goes so deep that if he thinks Ainz is making a mistake that could put him in danger, he will break orders to ensure his master's safety even if it means he is punished. Like how he tried to go back up Ainz despite being told they weren't to interfere.

World Items are ultra rare ballance breaking items in Yggdrasil there are 200 of them in total , there are 11 of them in Ainz s possession which also includes two items from one of twenty sub type (one of them can heal anything including the negative effects induced by world items).

Demiurge is the definition of absolute loyalty. Absolutely loyal, but not absolutely subservient. His number one priority is not to follow every order Ainz gives him. Instead, its to keep him alive and healthy as much as he can. If it were to be to the benefit of Ainz' health and safety demiurge will disregard every order. Thats why Albedo ordered him to their room. So she and cocyutus can keep demiurge in check. In the end he only gave in because he knew that he stood no chance. Waiting and being of use afterwards was a better decision than fighting, losing and being of less use afterwards.

Very important thing to keep in mind, for all Momonga's power, his character was focused on roleplay and thematics. Shalltear's creator was a min/max power gamer

7:00 no this is the ainz we know. Ainz is cautious by nature this is why throughout the first season he wanted the existence of nazarick to remain a secret to the rest of the world. And ainz knows about shalltear power and how she is basically built and equipped to counter his style of combat. She is armed with holy magic and her spear is a natural counter to his necromancy. The only advantage ainz had over shalltear is that shalltear is purely a combat type with not much in the means of complex strategy she is basically a blunt force object. So what ainz needed to do to gain an advantage is make her waste her resources early in the fight.

Demiurge is in a room with his closest work partner and his best friend to keep him from interfering because he will do thing he is doing what is right in to serve his master the best he can.

Floor guardian = Raid Boss

Regarding the little heart to heart they had in the middle of their battle. That wasn't some grand plan by Ainz, it's just a trope in anime. All anime do that, it's a staple of the media.

I know that you guys are probably ahead but the gauntlets and the scroll were the world items ainz doesn’t have the world items he gave them because world Items cancel each other you can’t control someone that has a world Item on them I think I don’t remember well

They actually used their magic a lot more than anime shows, that's why ainz's mana is draining fast. Because ainz is using the same attack back to back, but anime made it look like he just use those once. Shalltear was designed to fight a full group of players and here ainz is fighting her alone and with the disadvantage of not being able to summon(and he is all about summoning), since she heals if enemy is weak. And the last skill ainz used can kill anything in the aoe.

So Shaltear was meant to be a raid boss that nobody actually got to fight (All the non-pleyades important people of Nazarik are raid bosses) and that has damage to which Aimz is weak. He's absolutely taking all precautions necessary.

Seeing peoples reactions to the Overlord anime being nothing less than spectacular really saddens me when I think about how bad the the anime adaption was for it, and many Overlord anime only fans won't truly experience all the magic the light novel series has to offer, since Overlord is love by many light novel fans for these primary reasons: 1)Main villain as a protagonist - Unlike most isekai shows where the main character is morally good for the most part, Ainz is UNDOUBTEDLY a villain, since one of his goals is to try to dominate this new world. For instance, in Season 1 when Ainz was prepared to murder Niferea in when his identity as Momon was almost found out. Another example, is the UNPROVOKED attack on the lizard men led by Ainz in season 2 that cost countless lives for their species, and it was all done for experimentation for Ainz, it's also worth keeping in mind that the ONLY reason that Ainz decided to show mercy to the Lizardmen was due to Coctyus's request, which led to the situation we are in now where the Lizardmen aren't following Ainz now out of love, but fear, since they know first hand what he and his army of Nazarick are capable of, and we see more of that fear being shown from them in the later volumes. Next, is the attack on Re Estize kingdom led by Demiruge, which again, similar to the Lizardman was an UNPROVOKED attack led by Ainz crew that caused the death of not only countless soldiers of the kingdom, but men AND children as well. Heck, Demiurge kidnaps women and FORCES them to cross breed with other species for experimentation, which is essentially rape, and Ainz will NEVER actively punish him for it, since in the Light Novel he's stated time and time again that the denizens of Nazarick will ALWAYS have more value then the people of this new world. So here we have protagonist that's caused genocide for his own SELFISH reasons, and will CONTINUE TO DO SO in future arcs, and has subordinates that aren't above doing more bad things, such as rape ( Demiurge, and Shalltear fall into this rape category, though over 90% of the denizens of Nazarick are evil beings that enjoy the suffering of humans, just don't rape them with a few exceptions like Sebas who is morally good) so all this effectively makes Ainz a dictator on the same level as Hitler. However, what seperates Ainz from MANY other villains in fiction is that he isn't one dimensional as we see the man show compassion for those around him, even if it's primarily reserve with those in Nazarick, and he also has flaws in the fact that he struggles to be a competant leader for them, Making him a complex villain, up there with Griffith. It's a change of pace to what I usually see and it's glorious. 2) Foreshadowing- Many of the major events are set up in earlier parts of the story like how Ninya's death at the hands of Clementine played a role in Ainz rare act of compassion to someone outside of Nazarick in sparing Tuare is a great example of this. And there were many foreshadowing threads in season 3 season that will play a MAJOR role in future arcs, Seriously, I'll never forget reading the predictions people made in earlier volumes, with MANY of them being spot on in the more recent volumes due to all the seeds the author planted in those earlier volumes, which is great story telling. 3) world building- I could write an essay on how much world building was axed from the anime, and I don't know where to start so I won't bother lol. Personally I feel the anime fails at most of this since ALOT of the character moments are either brushed over or are outright glossed over, and that's in addition to skipping MANY of the world building elements. You KNOW it's bad when whenever there's a reaction video of Overlord on youtube, you have people in the comments of said videos writing LITERAL paragraphs explaining what was skipped on EACH episode, not as a whole season, and episode per video. It's bad. Then there's the animation itself, which there isn't much to speak of, and that's not even mentioning the god awful CGI. Overall, a terrible adaption, which is a shame because the light novels are so good, and REALLY dark in terms of tone, for instance, like going into more detail about Demiurge's breeding experiments ( many of the denizens of Nazarick are aware of this by the way, they just don't care that he's doing it, since they consider humans to be inferior to them), and Shalltear's weird and horrifying sexual fantasies ( she enjoys sexually assaulting women), or Ainz lack of sympathy for humanity as a whole, and how that's explored when he commits genocide. And the books go into far more detail on all of this. It's to the point that I feel that anime fans, and light novel fans are getting entirely different experiences.
