I know other people have probably explained it to you but the reason why and Anime you typically often see influences from Nazi designs or stylings or mannerisms which extends from say Overlord all the way to Fullmetal Alchemist and so on and so forth it's because For one when you think about it Japan was Nazi Germany's allies during World War II which already put them in the state tap be more friendly towards the Germans in general but more than that especially in the time after the war as I understand it, history classes in Japan don't typically explain all the horrible things the Germans did but simply explain how the war proceeded meaning in other words they explain how the war played out but not why the War was happening and so at least for younger adults and children who are much less likely to be as informed about the true extent of why the war occurred and everything that had happened during the war you find the younger people in Japan typically only really know about how badass the not the Army was in terms of being a small tiny country that's still managed to basically take over the entirety of Europe and was supposed to take over the entire damn world through their sheer strength until all the world superpowers came together to stop them and even then it was a long battle to actually fully push them back and beat them and so for those kind of an island boat who also in the light novel is explained to be a chuunibyou it's a matter of iron was prone to basically thinking of whatever was on the top of his head and doing it and it was said that during the time of him creating Pandora's actor Nazis were on his mind and more than that Nazi design and mannerisms and things like that were on his mind Prince why he made Pandora's actor uniform the way he did and white Pandora's actors personality is influence the way it is

Basically push come to shove the overwhelming amount of Nazi influence in anime is more product of History lessons in schools not actually teaching Japanese students the actual reasons as to why events in the past occurred combined with what they are taught heavily influencing their opinion of said events meaning that no end is not a Nazi but rather simply isn't the same boat as many Japanese I've not actually knowing the true scent of what the Nazis actually world did as I would have left me probably knows but it's not something I would come goat Forefront of his mind

Ainz changed gear to specialize in spellcasting and raise elemental resistance. He's specialized in summoning so he swapped to gear more appropriate for direct casting.

Also for explanation on 16:20 the mind control was probably only able to do a default command ("attack whoever attacks me") since the user was hurt too badly to take complete control.

i know its an old reaction, but Ainz's Skill he used at the end is an instant death spell. it killed everything in its radius, even plants, earth etc. thats why the area is full of sand now

I thought cry of the banshee was the instant death spell and the goal off the all life is death was a debuff removing all kinds of insta death resistances and immortalities. It even makes matter morthal which is why soil around them turned into sand.

The Goal of All Life is Death is strengthening instant death spells, while Cry of the banshee is the actual instant death ability (which was the last spell he used). by chanting "widening magic" he increased the radius of cry of the banshee

Some explanations from someone who loves Overlord and spent far too long analyzing the setting (None of this is spoilers, just exposition from the Light Novel that didn't make it into the anime): As people mentioned, the skill Ainz used (The Goal of All Life Is Death) is a 100 hour cooldown skill that makes instant death abilities unresistable, even for undead who are normally immune. What wasn't mentioned is that it also puts a 12 second delay on those instant death abilities. That's why the clock appears behind Ainz and why there's a bit of time before it killed them. As was mentioned, Wail of the Banshee is a weak AoE instant death ability that would only work on weak enemies normally, but under TGoALID it becomes a zone of death where even the land and air become lifeless. Ainz got TGoALID from his special class, Eclipse. In Yggdrasil, you didn't become a Level 100 wizard or fighter, most classes had something like 5-15 levels available and you picked more advanced classes as you level. If you're of an inhuman race like Ainz, you could also get racial levels (Ainz has levels in Skeleton Mage, Elder Lich and Overlord, all racial classes). Yggdrasil was a marvel for its thousands of available classes under this system, many of which no one even knew about unless you stumble into its requirements. Eclipse is one such class, and Ainz found it by making an Overlord character heavily specialized in instant death and necromancy spells. The Goal of All Life is Death is his trumpcard from that class, it's meant to be very powerful. Why did Ainz give World Class items to the Guardians? Because what wasn't mentioned in the anime is that World Class items have a special ability: They protect the wielder from other World Class items. If Shalltear was carrying one, for example, the mind control would have failed. Ainz distributed them to the guardians to protect them from any unknown other World Class items. Finally, why was Ainz so embarrassed of Pandora's Actor? Yggdrasil was in service for over a decade. Do you still think all the things you thought were cool a decade ago are still cool? Ainz is cringing at what he thought was cool a decade ago.

Oh right one more thing I forgot to mention: It's not very clear even in the Light Novel, but mana seems to be VERY slow to regen. it's usually referred to as a daily resource, so it's probable that either mana regenerates so slowly that it takes 24 hours to completely refill, or that it takes rest to regenerate it, 8 hours for a full refill. This is intended to mimic D&D's Spells-per-day systems, as Maruyama (the author) took a lot of inspiration from D&D. If we're going by the Web Novel (very non-canon but eh) Mana potions aren't even a thing that exist.

Ainz _thinks_ Nazarick is being targeted. There is no trap and no one knows Nazarick is here. Shalltear is only half mind-controlled because she killed the enemy before the World Item completed its effect. The reason he is going in alone is that he considers it to be in poor taste for a leader to not take responsibility for the mistakes of their subordinates. The Floor Guardians have complete faith in him, but he has to prove to himself that he _is_ the Overlord. The reason Ainz waited to use The Goal Of All Life Is Death + Cry Of The Banshee is because he needed to one-shot Shalltear and the Einherjar at the same time because she can't create another one. Einherjar has the same stats and some of the skills of the user. If Shalltear used it to attack in melee, then hit Ainz from a distane with magic, he'd have had a much harder time. But she didn't think of doing that.

@@NinjaKumaReacts Honestly Shallter is so strong, because she has a bunch of powerful options, from melee to magic, but limited number of them. The average player that specializes in mage classes, could have say 200 powerful spells spells, not exact, just an example. Shallter would have like 50 spells, but those spells are very powerful. Sje then also has access to strong warrior traits, making her incredibly versatile. She is a jack of all traits, with a ton of powerful abilities in many different places. She would be even MORE dangerous, if she could make the most of those abilities, but she isn't all that bright. Her own deadliness is held back by her lack of intelligence.

She strikes me more as a world boss, remember they mentioned she defending against a raid comprised of around 140 or so people? (If I'm remembering it correctly). Her health drain is the real bs, especially if she can hit multiple targets, numbers can be a disadvantage as much as an advantage.

Also instant death can have interesring effects on air for example from the Novel: And Ainz’s secret weapon activated. That moment-the world died. It was not a figure of speech. Everything had died. ...(i shortend it here) But it did not end there. Even the air that was devoid of life died and turned the 200-meter diameter into a space where breathing was impossible. If there had been a being here who needed to breathe in order to live, the dead air would have contaminated the lungs and ended its life. Not only that, the land died as well. With Ainz at its center, an area measuring 200 meters in diameter instantly turned into a desert...

Ainz planed to be decoy. Therefore he took worse equipment and use spell with long casting time. He plned to use his wold item to beat enemy. But they didn't showed up. So another option was kill Shalltear and try to revive her. With his god level staff he could just one shot Shalltear (but that would be pretty boring). Plan B was simply flex. He kill her twice as caster and then use equipmant he is not use to. Then he just needed to buy enought time and deal enough demage to end it with final blow. And sill win despite being in disadvantage.

What I'm going to say is not a spoiler because they never bring it back up in the anime, it is more of a clarification on what actually happened to Shalltear to the best of my recollection. Sry for if it is too long I'm a bit of an Overlord-head The group that Shalltear attacked was the Black Scripture from the slane theocracy (Clementine was a former member before she stole the crown of wisdom and left) send to fight Ainz (I can be wrong about their specific objective). Then shalltear ran in an killer two of them but right before that Lady Kaire used a world item (Down fall of caste and country which can mind-control any one person). With Lady Kaire dying and Shaltear being one of thestrongest beings in the world the black scripture retreated leaving Shalltear in standby mode which mean kill anything that attacks u and with for more orders. Yep Shlltaer is OP. Her creator is a Mid-Maxer and he made Shalltaer to be the strongest 1V1 NPC ever, thats why she is in charge of floors 1,2 & 3. Fun fact, Ainz has an over max MP bar so that's why when people sees his magic they freak the F*** out and Shalltaer calls it a staggering amount of MP.

That said as a woman I can say there are Too many girls that are like that. they're also a few guys that are like that. most of the time it's a matter of age and if they're hormones have balanced out. Just to clarify, most of Overlord's magic was based on D&D, and almost every single brainwash/summon/pet or anything that you could order in that game worked something like this: "you can order them to do X. If they receive no others, they will defend themselves, but do nothing else", which is why Shalltear attacked anyone who attacked her, it's because she wasn't given any orders.

About Shalltear being OP, she's pretty much THE most min-maxed character in all of Nazarick, and specifically specialized in combat too (Yggdrasil has a ton of non-combat classes and utility skills, for example, you need classes for crafting. Shalltear has none of that)
