Thanks bud. I'm an electrician by trade and just moved to Arizona I haven't started a hvac/r school yet but have been in the field my whole life and I learn so much from your videos I've seen almost all of em lol
Funny how This video shows up after I just did a blower motor replacement on my Trane today. HVAC company wanted close to 3 grand for motor/ecm replacement and I did it for less than 700 dollars, parts found on Amazon. Warm and cozy as I type this message. I would have loved to have found this video earlier, as it is loaded with great info. If I have any problems in the future I will search for Steven lavaliere.
Nice to have baby dog welcoming you back to the truck and congratulating you on a job well done. Helps make up for having to work around a backward-installed AHU.
Sub cool should be charged per data information on the inside cover. So if it called for 11 degrees your good to go. But every tonnage and manufacturers are different. Great video. I started wearing latex gloves because of your videos. My hands thank you😊
It never ceases to amaze me, the stupidity of some installers. I had a service call on a furnace in an attic setup horizontally. they screwed the coil on facing the back side of the furnace. They had so much air leaking past the filter that within a year the coil was packed with crud even though they keep the filter clean. I had to uninstall and reinstall the coil. I have enough work without having to fix everyone's fuck ups. So much of the shotty installs are done by the big companies that charge crazy prices, go figure.
Steve, talk about "cutting corners"! It's a damn shame that no one with knowledge of HVAC did not oversee the work at this government building. I guess since the funds are provided from the hard working taxpayers who the heck cares about accountability and responsibility? Just hire the lowest bidder and deal with the potential problems later on. Thank you for posting this video!
What are the 2 different brand names and models of wireless gauges you have, I seen in this video their red and blue with wireless temp clamps. The other set you have is long black handles with wired temp clamps
Seems like I change out more X13 motors than anything else, like 3 or 4 of them for every condenser fan motor or conventional blower motor. Sometimes you GOTTA use the puller or heat the collar with your torch to get them out(especially down where i'm at on the coast) but I usually just knock the motor shafts out with an aluminium rod and brass hammer. Can bang on it as hard as you want and it won't mushroom out - much quicker than rigging-up the puller.
steve i serviced a unit with r22 freon 14 years old supply air temp was 80 degrees outside house temp was 85 degrees but pis on low side was 60 and on high side was 200 its low on freon but it was not cooling at all , what do you think is reason for no cool?
you would have to check superheat and sub cooling to see if its charged properly . 60 seems low for a 80 degree day .you have to check the superheat & subcooling to be sure .make sure the filter is new for proper air flow
That was funny. Shut all your so does the air is running. Then he had to say it again. My dad would have added where were you raised? In a barn. Lol. I coukd here him say that was funny and nostalgic.
please tell the customer as well as you the good installer and good tech you all need to call the state licensing agency to complain about these bad companies who are doing bad installation and scamming homeowners. Also write complains with BBB, yelp etc. Also when someone buys a house they buy a insurance on appliances mostly paid by the seller, and they all need to know these bad companies who are doing wrong jobs. Let the realtors, brokers, consumer protection agencies know about these bad companies. The bad installers, should not be in business and should be sued.
I cannot stand it when installers do shit like that. They are there one time and never see it again. Then the service guys have to deal with it for the next 20 years.
