Glad I came across this video tonight. The 1st 4 gave me terrible hand cramps the 1st go round!! Have been dreading getting back to finishing the install the last week or so. Seen your video tonight and tried it immediately!! Works like a charm! Thanks a bunch!!
It's nice to see mature guys like myself who like to do things on their own. I've got a 73 Beetle convertible that is in good shape but has several oil leaks that I can't control. Maybe some of your videos will help me fix my problems. Thanks for the helpful ideas. I am now subscribed to your channel.
Awesome Video!! I love the hose clamp and zip tie idea to get the tubes in without damage. Very Smart!! I’m about to put in a set of Pushrod tubes today.
Thanks for leaving a comment. Stop back by sometime so I can get your phone number. And you can send me a link to that cool dip stick. I'm retired so I'm usually home all day. Thanks.
What kind of push rod tubes did you replace with? What is name and brand. If you have link to where you bought them I would appreciate it. Otherwise good work. Also how are the push rod tubes holding up with the job? Thanks.
i was told the spring end goes to the heads ! just saying ,,,,,now that i see this i might just turn mine around if they are working so good ,, mine had been leaking since i installed it ,,,,,4 or 5 times i am still dripping some oil i used number 2 non hardening sealer on the ends and vwjawbraker i believe the name was says he had better luck without any sealer , just a little oil on them ! thank you for posting ,,,,
I don’t think it matters. I’ve tried 3 different spring kits(Empi, JayCee and MST) both directions and all 3 have leaked like a sieve in the center. Not the ends but the center. The best have been the MST with the springs facing facing the engine. But they still leak. Better than pulling the engine and heads. Just trying to help.
@@FLATearthGARY l turned it around mine is on number 4 spring towards the lifter end it helped it but not stopped it complet ely but its a lot better ,,,at least the oil which flows from the motor end towards the valve covers has no more obstruction that the other way it has to deal with the o ring in there so the flow is much smoother " makes sense ? " any of this after market crap will not ever fit right empi is all chineese reproduction how ever you wanna call it ,,,,,as the years go by its going to get much worse i beleive ? hope for the best ,,,,,,happy hollidays everyone ,,,,made it through thanks giving LOL ,,
