@@johnheywood9826, this is copy and pasted from the J bugs page description...Collapsible or adjustable pushrod tubes are in our opinion meant as a temporary replacement for a damaged or excessively leaking pushrod. We always recommend replacing the pushrod tubes with single-piece, factory style replacements when possible. We do know that sometimes pulling the engine out and removing a head to replace the tubes is not always practical so 2 piece pushrod tubes do have a place. At $93.05 a set, that's a pretty costly temporary fix in my opinion
its funy your instructions say to install them that way i can see and read it ! but every other person and mechanic told me they go the other way ,,,,spring end towards head ,,,,,,,go see a video from " VW JAWBRAKER " and others ,,,,just saying if it works just leave it LOL
