Hey thanks for the comment. I just used regular wheel bearing grease. I still own the van (loving it) and its doing great !!! I put a little grease on so if you have to take the rocker covers off its much easier. Thanks!!!
I want to pull one of my lifters but I don't want to remove the push rod tube if I don't have to. Can I use a magnet to pull the lifter through the push rod tube, inspect it and then drop it back in?? That is can you pull the lifter up and out through the push rod???
You know that's a great question and to be honest I don't know if it would work. I kind of doubt it, or we would have hear about guys doing it all the time. I'm not sure if the lifters will clear the bottom of the push rod tubes. If you try could you let me know? I would be curious.
@@TheTinski07 Hey Thanks for the comment, and yup you are right, they won't clear, I learned that afterwards. Hey there, i don't remember the part #, so I went through the video and I held up the package at 10:30min mark, and it looks like the part number is 00-4108-0
Hey there, I believe I got them from www.cip1.ca I bought the push rod tubes from them, and you could buy xtra seals. I'm not sure if I showed it in the video but I bought german ones, and the cheaper EMPI ones, and they both work. So far they have not leaked at all, and I haven't had to use the xtra seals.
Thanks for the comment brother. I couldn't find replacement seals anywhere !!!, plus although more expensive (its one of the reasons I bought them) they are not as good quality. I found they deform more easily under heat and they just leaked more. The EMPI ones were thicker aluminum, and were a lot cheaper than the other ones, and they are still going strong. I did the job in 2019, and they are still good today :) You made a really good point about the seals, and if I was able to find them I would have tried, but I wasn't going to pay the enormous price they wanted to repurchase another (it only lasted about a year if that). Thanks for the comment and hope you have a great weekend :)
Sorry you feel that way, but I found these tubes to work great, and they are still going strong. Released a video today on Vangon rear control arm bushings. Everyone says to take the whole control arm out, I replaced the bushing with the control arm left in, and it worked. That could technically be wrong as well, but I found a way to do it.
