Like seriously beats the hell out of staying at the marine/navy squadron that we called the love boat at keesler and having to go to T Shift Classes at night...
Boy have things changed since the 70's! Goodfellow was not an ATC base, it was part of security service, a command that no longer exists. There was no marching to class, no formations, it was show up for class and pass dorm inspections. Oh, yeah, there was a commander's call once a month. The entire 6 months I was in the same dorm, 2 people per room, 6 rooms per unit with a dayroom and bath. There's a lot more amenities now, but I did play racquet ball.
Same here. Was also at Goodbuddy during the first tour when it was a USAFSS base. Very laid back, we were treated like adults. Lived in a 2-man room in one of the old dorms. I liked it. Came back a few years later, now under ATC, but lived in the Visiting Officers' Quarters during school. Very nice. The last PCS tour at Goodfellow, lived off base.
@@mdmarko The old dorm? Like in the WWll wooden dorms that had a burn estimate of around 90 seconds? Yes, it sounds very much as if trainees are treated like children.
Just an FYI for all of you watching; this is a Goodfellow AFB thing, not an AF tech school thing. If you go to Sheppard or Keesler, (most of you will) phase 3 isnt a thing. Its split between ITP and ATP. The only major difference between the phases is wearing civilian clothes off duty and on the weekends. You dont get different dorms or your own room at ANY point during tech school.
@@NBHRaven im back on the gring same thing happened to me last year i was around 200 im 6.2 btw and i wa ready and everything and then life like u said, but now im 217 and im grinding every day to do this. i believe you got this too u can do it maybe we will enlist same time 😂
I dont know how this ended up in my recommended videos, but here I am watching this sitting in my broken, run down, bug infested shitty barracks, in a room the size of your living room with another roommate. You know what I had to live in at my MOS school? a cockroach infested room with no AC in the NC summer with four other Marines stacked in the same small room. Air Force must be nice, they really take care of their people unlike the USMC. I wish the USMC would follow the example of the Air Force when it comes to living conditions. Your "overall living conditions" are like living in a 5 star hotel compared to other branches, don't ever take what you have for granted.
Damn that must of been horrible, I was living in another dorm with a roomate and did have 3 to a room at one point but now I moved into this dorm and it’s much nicer lol. Thanks for your story man appreciate it, hopefully the living conditions over there get better or you are able to move off base one day!
Honestly this is way better than what I had when I went to tech school. I had 2 other people with me (3 people total) in a room made for 2. We had worms in the shower and the water from the sink was yellow. Back in the ol’ shepherd shaft. We had marines in my tech school and they said the barracks in 29 palms were better lol
How was it, friend? I leave February 16th, and I'm pretty nervous, but in a way not really? It's like I've stressed so much that now I'm just like, "fuck it" haha
i saw that protein, is there a gym on base? i'm supposed to be leaving for bmt in a few months and this is the least amount of muscle i've had in years, so im tryna build it back up when I can.
This is so cool. Air force well taken care of I see. Do you know if someone coming from active duty to ait would get their own room? Something similar to this would be perfect for me
Really nice layout for 4 Airmen, 2 on each side...lot better than early phase housing! My tech school was 1 month, so I never got past Phase 1 at Keesler. What job title are u training for? & which base?
Literally looked up to see if the Air Force had bathtubs in their barracks..turns out yall don't even call it that..waaay better living conditions than the Marine Corps🤣🤣
@@AirmanNick I've been watching your vids since day one. Awesome work man. I've always been a phew steps behind ya and definitely took from your videos. I'm looking at getting in the rope program and using your videos for inpros. Congratulations on graduating. 1n1, 1n0?
my flight is in quarantine at lackland rn and a lot of us have questions about tech school. my flight graduates the day before thanksgiving and departs after so we’ll be in tech school before christmas. is goodfellow allowing tech school students to go home over the holidays?
@@AirmanNick how does the process of it work and like are there requirements for it? honestly that’d make a good video explaining it if that helps you explain it better lol
It’s easy to land a job in dep, it all depends on how many jobs you are putting on your list. I recommend only putting the jobs you want and not letting the recruiter pressure you into choosing anything.
I would recommend studying the section you wish to score highest in based on the exact jobs you want, aka general, mechanical, electrical whatever it is you wish to do in the Air Force.
Also, if you score low don't get discouraged. Study study study and if you don't like the score you got I would suggest retaking since that will determine your military career. Just keep in mind they don't keep your highest score, only your most recent.
@@Nick-bo3yq I studied for 6 months in Fernandos class. It’s possible to study in 2 but since I had taken the test twice already I had to wait 6 months cause I wanted to go Air Force. My background with the Asvab was I got a 54 on the High School written version. Then took the CAT-Asvab at Meps and got a 45. Studied again and got a 35. Then studied in that class and got a 92 and qualified for all the jobs in the Air Force. Still glory to God for that score
Question: is everyone’s technical training 4+ months? Or does it depend on your MOS??? Just trying to get an idea of how long my fiancé / husband will be gone after going to BMT.
Thank you so much , my fiancé left for training way earlier than we expected so we didn’t get a chance to get married before he left , so I was worried he wasn’t going to come home after ! So thank you so much for the information !
