even to this day, I just love these videos, although the wind kinda ruins the mood a bit, but its still very beautiful airplane, and the sound is just gorgeous!

+Cameron calvi-freeman That's very cool! I've never flown in such a small plane. I bet it'll be heaps of fun! Thanks for watching!

+Aviation NLNZ they aren't small.... They're about the size of the old fokker friendship which plied the skies of New Zealand for years. The 19 seater beechcraft ARE small and very rowdy.

+isopath1 They are, compared to the planes I normally fly with, which are mainly 330's, 340's, 777's & 747's. :)

When you watch and listen to a turboprop engine fire up, you can tell that it's indeed a jet engine with a propeller attached. Most of the public, who is not observant, is not aware of that fact. Most of the public is convinced that the turboprop engine is an old fashioned piston driven propeller engine, like those of the old Dougless DC-7. I myself love turboprops, and I wish that the now popular Airbus A-320 was four engine a turboprop airliner, instead of a twin engine fan jet. Some say that driving a vehicle with a manual transmission is "Real Driving." I say that flying in a propeller aircraft is "Real Flying". Though a bit slower, turboprops are more fuel efficient than fan jets. I feel that a four engine turboprop equivilance of the A-320, are feasible for most domestic flights, like from Charlotte NC to New York LaGuardia. I think that fan jet airliners should only be used for cross country and overseas.

Wow awesome, mate! I'm planning to go as soon as I sell my house, for a year, probably. So, could be next month, could be in two years. My parents & other family live in NZ. Maybe, one day, we can spot airplanes together there! Do you have any relatives in NZ or is it just a holiday destination for you?

I wouldn't go near a Dash 8; however love the Beech 1900!
@AviationNZ
@AviationNZ 8 лет назад
+Tina J Why not? The Dash-8 is very reliable machine. Plus, nowadays, the 1900D is becoming quite rare here. It's either the Dash-8 or the ATR72 you can choose from, prop-plane wise.

Cool airplane They should buy or lease a Q400 so they can get even more passengers that what they should do and paint it black with a Fern on it
@AviationNZ
@AviationNZ 10 лет назад
They operate ATR72-500 & -600 and A320's for carrying more pax when needed. But yeah, a Q400 would be nice too! :)
