I'm glad you posted these tribulations you've had with this model. I have a g1 gauntlet that I installed a hajimoto kit on and put a .5 litre 4500 psi bottle with a 2200 psi regulator. The Haji kit allows me to adjust the hammer spring for tuning needs. I average around 70 ft.lbs shooting fx hybrids and jsb hades. It's a wonderful gun and I'm not gonna upgrade. All we wanted was the G1 in .30 caliber
Awesome that’s what I have been telling people if have a g1 up grade it but I like the g2 stock better and you save money on g2. But if your g1 works good spend 400 on it lol
I love the g1 too and I have not done anything to my gauntlet 25 but put a bottle on it and it,s the best for the money one of them I have a .38L bottle that's registered to 2200psi and the bottle fills to 3000psi I get 60 good shots at about 960 feet per second with 33.39g pellet
It's too bad the G2 has so much bad press, but maybe they deserve it, I don't know. The customer base is educated to a point, so that speaks to that issue. My Gen 1 Gauntlet is PERFECT. It looks perfect, is accurate, and no need for a Gen 2 from my perspective. Thanks James for always keeping it real, otherwise what's the point ???
My g2 works fine shooting out to 120yrds right now it’s in .25 58fpe getting 70shots on regulator. Send it back make them fix it others have gotten the avenger when they first came out it was messed up and they have fix it. Can’t compare a broken gun to a good one lol.. you said the barrel is messed up send it back with what’s wrong with it
Gun isnt broke...the 22 barrel is purposely designed this way from Umarex if you actually watched and paid attention to my other videos you'd know...unless your a gunsmith or engineer like myself you wouldn't know this
@@STKO2011 both are designed the same you have one that someone half assed it it’s not finished looking at the .22 barrel now and .25 they are the same and finished…
If the transfer port is protruding in the 25cal rifling...then both barrels /calibers are flawed that's why Hajimoto offers a barrel reaming service in the $715 silver package...it should not be like that, that doesn't mean they can't be accurate but with only certain pellets ...more or less a break barrel

You’re probably right. But I still choose the gauntlet over the avenger for the same reason I’m with my wife. She’s annoying, doesn’t do what we agreed on, but besides that, loads of fun and stunningly beautiful!😁😁
Not a fan of that G2 either. The thing is a boat anchor by the time you put a scope and a bipod on it. No adjustability to speak of. No Thanks! About the only negative stuff I heard on the Avenger was when they first came out. Some of them had leak issues. They fixed that though. They have a ton of adjustability and are dead nuts accurate. I would much rather own a Avenger any day than a G2.
No hammer spring adjustment on the Gauntlet 2 ?!!? Oh buddy! This is a massively bad idea. With less than dependable pellet availability, you need a certain amount of adjustment to accommodate the pellets you can get your hands on. Diabolo pellets ,generally, don’t shoot that great over 950 fps . I wonder if it was designed by some AI program that was only focused on high power and shot count? It has both, but it’s an excessively long, heavy ,non adjustable, totally impractical thing to my way of thinking. Maybe a few cup holders will help. I think it may be the Edsel of airguns. I asked in your previous video to compare the two rifles, and then it popped up in my notifications. LOL I agree with you. If I would buy a Budget PCP it would definitely be the Avenge with the wood stock in .25 caliber. Keep up the good work James.
Don't judge the umarex Gauntlet 1 to the Gauntlet 2. ....the g1 is a beast and will put 25 pellets in a dime size hole. They rushed the g2 and messed it up. Compare the g1 with the avenger
All ur experience is respectful but in my opinion both guns are not comparable...because avenger isnt design to push heavier projectile...instead g2 is designed to push for power.....
I own 1 of each and have to agree the Avenger is superior. Too bad I did not see this Vid before I ordered the G2 Already owned the Avenger and think it is a remarkable gun for the money.
Perhaps your Gauntlet is defective. I see them shoot excellent in other reviews. Plus you can adjust the Gauntlet. It's not difficult if you do a little research. The Gauntlet is a better bench rifle. The Avenger is better for carrying in the woods. Part of the fun is modding the Gauntlet. Buy both.
The other's had Umarex send them the gun? everyone on UX Gauntlet Shooters Association Facebook page that actually bought the gun at retail dont care for there's either because of the barrel , the gun is not defective...this is why Hajimoto offers a "silver package" for $715 to fix this barrel issue its a setup
@@STKO2011 I hadn't heard that. Is it easily fixed? I thought Hajimoto said his Gauntlet 2 was stock. Unless you are saying Umarex sent him a tweaked rifle???? Airgun Web too????? I also hear the Avenger has scope rail problems. Sounds crazy to me. I'll still buy one. I'll use it as a bench rifle with heavy pellets. Iam buying an Avenger in the synthetic. @@heithwatkins Yes they are all partnered or have affiliation with Umarex, their rifles aren't tweaked but polished to look good on camera to sell, all the G2 barrels are the same with transfer port going through the rifling , G1 isnt like this...mine was rough from the get go and so was everyone else's that bought it from a store , if you buy one tell me how it is out of the box because the shorter pellets should not be crammed into the rifling by closing the bolt because there is no throat or freebore in the breech , I can't say on the 25cal...but from what I been hearing the 25cal barrel is the same way
2 of the most hyped and awful pcp air rifles. Had to send a half dozen avengers back just to get a good one,no joke.I do own 3 wooden ones that are fair after that.You shouldn't have to work on a new air rifle just to get it to work properly. I tried Umarex as well same thing there. I washed my hands of those 2 companies so far and saved my money and purchased better higher end stuff. No problems with those. Good video. I do not have access to 4000 psi , my shooting with PCPs is done with 3000 psi scuba tank , with that in mind I was wondering if the Avenger 22 can be tuned to give me at least a 60 shot count with CP 14.3 at speeds of 800 to 850 fps? I imagine that the second regulator on the Avenger can be adjusted to 1100 psi per shot? Can you please illustrate me on this subject. Thank you.
You just don’t like the gauntlet . It gets 3 times the mount of shots then the adventure. It also has a 4500 psi fill . Why compare if you already have your mind made up ? We get it every rifle is not for everyone.
Well gamo magnum.22 be best but if can afford that then you can get the the hatsan .30 for power gets like 33fpe but have to single load it where the gamo magnum has a 10rd mag with 26 to 27 fpe
Let me say it louder for those in back... THE G2 SUCKS! You really screwed the pooch on this one Umarex. That being said, I love my Origin, but I'm one of the lucky ones with no issues in 8 months / 6000 rounds so far. Idk how you're going to redeem yourselves, but I'd recommend thinking long and hard about it it and keep on doing the next right thing.

You really can't believe a word anyone says anymore, especially when they're paid to say it. It's a sad state of affairs and needs to change. I'm even turned off by Airgun nation forum these days. It's so heavily sponsored by FX that you can't speak ill of them or you face the consequences.
@@joshuagibson2520 yep, its been an ongoing fight on my channel the whole time I got involved in the PCP airguns ....I started using PCPs in June 2017 and my Beeman Chief really turned heads what it was capable of definitely when I shot FX's smooth twist barrel requirements in my bags outside not in a clamp at the factory (controlled indoor environment), ever since then FX guys haven't been happy...comments/ personal messages/phone calls I'm not even kidding , now they have the Harmonic tuner to make extra money ...which is a joke within itself due to the fact the weight of the harmonic balancer not changing weight to dampen vibrations just different index marks
@@STKO2011 yeah I couldn't get a straight answer from Chris at upnorthairgunner. I asked if it has a weight that moves in the direction of muzzle to breech or if it has a weight that moves radially with the index marks. I'm also amazed at how many times I've seen people with new or nearly new FX guns have seal issues, etc. Esp at that price point. All airguns will fail eventually. They're not like powder burners in that regard. But for $2k I think they should be trouble free for a good 5 years. The other thing that blows my mind is they want you to upgrade to a carbon shroud or use a barrel weight right out of the gate because their "stock" product is flawed from go. It doesn't make sense to me. Impact MK4 will be out soon I'm sure lol. They're the Airgun equivalent of iPhone. 😂😂😂😂
Why have a Gauntlet when you can have an Avenger. I had the G1 Gauntlet, I purchased the Avenger and never touched the Gauntlet again. I think the guns are just plain ugly, heavy and cumbersome. If you only bench shoot the Gauntlet is ok, but lugging that beast through heavy brush while hunting... no thanks. Sorry Umarex, you need to catch up with crowd. Really? No adjustable regulator or hammer spring??
I got the plastic one. I didn't want to wait for a wood one to be in stock. There is a better baffle system in the wood version. It's very rudimentary so I don't want it because I'm adding a Donny FL A70
I am on point with 200 ++ yards with mine.......Either you suck at aiming or your rifle is not working properly. Just saying. Keep it clean and get it checked.
I got a g2 and it is a peace of shit the regulator leaked the day I got it new I tightened it up and got it to stop for a wile then it started leaking again and now they don’t want to fix it under warranty because I messed with it when I first got it
The air venturi avenger shoots good but is one way very cheap parts.cheap stock horrible quality but the gauntlet 2 is heavy the stock is too square and bad quality too.i think we Americans are very cheap people 😂🇺🇸 I think the Hatsan or other brands are better than those 2 👎👎👎👎
When you do a comparison you should be Neutral and NON BIASED! It's REALLY OBVIOUS within the first minute that you prefer the Avenger over the G2. For a person to claim to be a Mechanical Engineer you should already know that. This video is only for people that like the Avenger because all you do is SLAM the G2! This video is a waste of time!
If the rifle sucks and he says so that's a breath of fresh air compared to most others posting vids of how great a product is and never a negative word about any of them.
