How can you use the factory wiring to give power to the air dog pump rather than loading my fuse box with extra wires and not permit codes to pop up

So I have a stock lift pump with an aftermarket regulated return. Would I keep my regulated return or remove it for one of these systems?

So do you delete the engine bay fuel filter???
@InTheShop
@InTheShop 2 месяца назад
Correct. You can leave it if you want but you no longer need it. Remove the filter and the plastic standpipe in the housing.

do you remove the factory regulator and spring with this kit. or is it regulated 2 times?
@InTheShop

Factory regulator and spring stay in place unless you also do a regulated return system.

With the issues of the fuel pickup foot breaking in the tank, are you going to install a Bean's Sump or one like it?
@InTheShop
@InTheShop 3 года назад
I’m going to run the stock pickup for now. I’ve had pretty good luck with it. Once I go with bigger injectors and the fuel demand is higher I’ll use a sump. I’ve never personally had a stock one break and I’ve done a lot of them.
@Itsa_Mea
@Itsa_Mea 3 года назад
@@InTheShop if its kept above 1/4 tank it won't be a problem even if it falls off or spits out the check valve. I personally don't like sumps but in race application I'd do it. If the foot breaks off, don't waste your money on the aftermarket ones. They will fall apart too in short time. Motorcraft is not supplying them anymore so it doesn't leave many options.

Hi brotha my number five injector tip broke off . What would be the cause ?
@InTheShop
@InTheShop 3 года назад
The biggest cause of broken injector tips is water/air in the fuel.

Is the return to the airdog completely necessary I wanna run a sump and regulated return and just have 1/2 fuel lines and my line from the regulator go straight to the sump return rather than use my stock fuel lines or have it t off to the airdog
@InTheShop
@InTheShop Год назад
The return doesn’t go back to the airdog. There is a feed into the airdog, the fuel out of the air dog and a return from the airdog back to the tank. You also have a return from the engine to the tank. So your setup with the regulated return going straight back to tank works but the return FROM the air dog still needs to exist since this is where the air that’s removed and the air dogs internal regulator send back to tank.
@Csup65
@Csup65 Год назад
@@InTheShop thanks for the fast reply and helping understand a bit better. So if I were to run a 1/2” line off of the regulator and have a 1/2” y split so I can feed the airdog and still return to the sump that will make it work ?
@InTheShop
@InTheShop Год назад
@@Csup65 that could work but I would recommend stepping up to larger than 1/2 where the two lines meet. You don’t want a restriction on your return side.

why airdog lift pump?
@InTheShop
@InTheShop 3 года назад
Cleaner fuel, it removes air from the system, it provides a higher volume of fuel if you have an application that demands more than the factory pump can handle.
