I love mine, (in .30) , topped it with a Hawke 3x9x50 (that I bought from these guys), At 50 yards, it'll drive tacks. Run it over my FX chronograph ( that I bought from these guys) and i love it to, itsrunning 995 fps, at 98 ft/lbs, and I haven't even tuned the hammer yet. I'm getting 21 shots per fill, with a little bit of air to spare. I put a sumo on it, it's quieter than my sig asp in .22. Really enjoy your reviews, straight up honest, and straight to the point

What is that "power factor" number on your displays? is that something that's put in when you configure for the pellets or auto-generated by the software? Where was the dB meter positioned? Directly in front or off axis? If not directly in front, how far off (45 degrees? 90 degrees?)? Also, how far away from the muzzle?

I know they said the new stock doesn’t touch the shroud and is supposed to keep the POI “within specs” but does the new gauntlet really have any difference in that respect compared to the old .25 and poi shift issues? Having to baby the shroud to avoid POI change is my biggest issue with the gauntlet. It’s way too sensitive to bumps or even a sneeze. 😅

Thanks brother. This is one nice airgun. As a bench rest rifle. Its hard to beat. Long distance hunting will be great as well. I will purchase one. I need a rifle set up for power. This will definitely fit the bill right out of the box. No having to set it up, or tune it. I actually like the bolt. But I also have strong hands. The consistency of the Ninja Reg. is awesome. I bought the first Gauntlet. Your review made a large impact on my purchase. It has been accurate and reliable. I haven't had one problem with it. I added a large bottle but other than that its stock. I look forward to getting this Gauntlet 2. God bless you. 🎯

I pre-ordered a .22 version back in early June, and it arrived 3 weeks ago. Mine has been a total train wreck from the start! Out of the box inspection....EVERY bolt and screw was not just kinda...but LOOSE! After a good cleaning, I tried to mount a scope, only to find anything larger than a 40mm objective, required pulling the front rail....even with high rings...and with high rings there isn't enough travel in the adjustable cheek piece to bring the eye in line with the scope. Next. 50 rounds to "season" things, then TRIED to sight it in. First, the trigger is HORRIBLE! Long, gritty, grainy travel, and a very mush break. I generally can sight any gun in with less than 10 rounds....this one I gave up on at 50! This gun throws pellets everywhere, no matter the make or weight of pellet. The typical 14.3gr Crosman premier pellets TUMBLE in flight, and hit the paper sideways more times than not! I contacted the seller, who directed me to Umerex, who at first said they would send a problem sheet for me to fill out, and a FedX return label.... I got the problem sheet....but have asked for the return label 3x now.... with no response. I can only hope Umerex comes through and either fixes or replaces this gun..... otherwise I'd just as soon spend the money on an Avenger. That gun is at least proven.

Interesting rifle. It has high power for hunting, but lacks good handling for off hand shooting. It has a stable Ninja reg which should be great for target shooting, but lacks adjustability (reg, transfer port or hammer spring). It seems to be running too “hot” out of the box for precision target shooting with anything but very heavy pellets. I have a Gauntlet “1” and it is easily modified. However, cost of mods starts to add up. Also, it seems this gun will require an after market moderator for backyard use, so that could add $100 - $150 to the cost. I think the original Gauntlet was a great deal at its original price point. The Gauntlet 2 faces competition in terms of adjustability at its new price point. I like a lot about it, but I’m not sure I’m sold…

Way to get around underslung-tank guns being nose heavy... go back to the 1700's and early 1800's and put the tank in the stock. A Ninja 45 ci CF tank makes a nice cheek rest, when surrounded by a stock. A hunting gun should be able to be shot off-hand well, regardless of how it's powered. On dissuading people from working on their guns... Parts are available, If you mess it up, buy a replacement. I messed up my share of sears and hammers learning how to work on guns lol. Obviously, be cautious when testing the work, and jostle the gun around to ensure the engagement is sound (make sure you also don't make the sear engagement "negative", otherwise the sear will wear to the point it's dangerous down the road). Don't be afraid of working on guns (firearms or air guns): people that had a very loose grasp on what forces they were working with, had relatively poor materials (compared to today), didn't have the internet for information, and were working with borderline medieval hand tools were making/ modifying guns (both firearms and air guns) in the 14 and 1500's. If they could do it, so can you.

When I lived in Lake Havasu Arizona it was illegal to discharge a firearm for any reason in town limits. Target shooting with airguns was permitted provided your ammo never left your property and you did not violate any noise ordinances. But, you could not shoot pests or hunt at all in your yard. I understood their reasoning. Everything was so closely packed together and people were shooting pigeons off powerlines, not knowing or caring where that shot landed. I don't know your situation, but it seems that a trip to a town meeting would be in order to find out the real reason for them telling you you can't kill anything. Cheers AGW

Extreme spread of 7 with only 8 shots, you can do that with just about any air gun, even unregulated ones.. What was the extreme spread over the entire 100 shots tells the story..
@AirGunWeb
@AirGunWeb 3 года назад
Jim, are you assuming that I'm not or that I'm somehow trying to hide something? The point of the regulator is that it regulates the output. As long as you are over the reg pressure in the bottle, your results are on point. Will there be variances over 100 short? Probably. But would they be dramatic like an unregulated gun? I have a video coming up that will show why it's important to know your shot curve with an unregulated gun. Or would minor variances be more due to pellet inconsistencies than reg inconsistencies? Frankly, I'm not interested in burning hundreds of pellets (which I can't replace right now) to find out. I've shot over the reg at full pressure and near the end of the usable pressure and the numbers are stable. Cheers AGW
@vansantsam
@vansantsam 3 года назад
@@AirGunWeb No, with 50-100 shots tells a better story about the regulator.. A good regulator will stay fairly consistent, but if you have an upward climb or downward climb or excessive spread then it tells you something isn't quite right with the regulator.. For example if you have a regulator that has and extreme spread of 10 fps over 10 shots but climbs upward or declines downward 40 fps that would give you an extreme spread of 50 over 50 shots and that is not desirable in a regulator... My .22 air gun shoots 52 shots at 32 fpe with an extreme spread of 20 - it is unregulated. To me that is just as good as most regulated air guns.. My friend has the same air gun and gets the same results as mine, Actually his gets 55 shots but at 30-31 fpe.. 10 shot strings we are seeing 4-5 fps extreme spreads, with a very gradual, linear bell curve..
@heithwatkins
@heithwatkins 3 года назад
@@vansantsam Really I think you will have to test the actual gun you buy. I see more people showing 10 shot consistency nowadays. I actually agree with you about wanting to see the entire shot string. But what was shown is good enough information. The rest I'll find out when I purchase mine.
@vansantsam
@vansantsam 3 года назад
@@heithwatkins That is fine, you can do as you wish. I figure if someone is doing a review then a full shot string would be beneficial.. I just got rid of an air rifle that got around 100 shot on the regulator, however over the entire shot string it lost 80 fps (80 fps extreme spread), but any 10 shot group only showed 8 fps spread - it was loosing about 0.8 fps per shot.. Maybe under 50 yards it would not be greatly noticeable but once you got out to 70-100 yards the last few shots definitely had a point of impact way lower than the first few shots. Which can also have you scratching your head with grouping - Why would it group better at one end or the other.. 80 fps change is enough to throw off grouping as well.. I feel that if a regulated rifle can't maintain 20 fps (or less) spread over the entire shot count on the regulator then I don't want it...

@@vansantsam WOW!!!! 80fps is alot. I can see why you are gun shy. I have the first Gauntlet and it does very well with the Ninja reg. So I didn't figure this would be a problem. It sounds like maybe your hammer spring was too high in relation to the reg. pressure. This causes a steady decline in fps throughout the shot string, until falling off the reg. If the reg. is set too high and hammer spring too low, it causes a nice shot string but then a spike in fps right before falling off the reg. What gun was it?

Easy to clean. You poop in it, so that's a big plus.

The .25 gives you 104 shots then the 22 would give more shots I guess?

If, by now, your audience can't be trusted/understand how to adjust a factory adjustable trigger...omg
