Yes, that is a good one to mention as well. C-pap's do need to be removed from its carrying case and undergo x-ray screening although you are allowed to place the C-pap in a clear plastic bag to protect it. The facemasks and tubing for it can remain in the case.
@@BenDreamVacations this varies depending on where you are flying from. We recently flew Munich - Dubai - Melbourne and return from Sydney via Dubai to Munich. None of the airports required the CPap to be taken out of it's carry bag. The security agent in Munich looked at the bag, saw the logo and said to my husband 'snoring machine, right?' and sent it through.
I took just a backpack to San Diego for a quick trip. TSA wanted to search my backpack because of something "suspicious". I waited ten minutes for the dude to finally bring my bag to me and have me open it. The dude was a big black guy who was looking through all my stuff. The suspicious item was baby powder. I laughed and said, "really?". I told him, being a guy, he probably knows why I have it in my bag. I then asked him if he'd like to see my police ID in the front pocket too and said we're on the same team. He laughed and told me to have a nice day and left.
Hi i am heading to Greece in a few weeks and was wondering if you need separate bins for liquids, shoes, backpack, laptop, iPad, power bank, and food? Love the videos btw!!
Your backpack does not need to go in a bin and any electronic the size of a cell phone or smaller does not have to go in a bin. So if your power bank is the size of a cell phone you can just keep it in your backpack. And as long as the food you are carrying is solid that ca stay in your bag as well. For everything else that you mentioned, those items will need to go in a bin.
Flashlights can stay in your bag. Portable speakers or any electronic larger than a cell phone will need to be taken out and placed in a bin. For any type of hair straightener, if it is corded then it can stay in your bag. If it is cordless then you will need to take them out and place them in a bin and they can only be packed in a carry-on or personal item bag.

So basically should I place my DL and cards in a non-RFID wallet at the airport and then switch them to a RFID wallet after security? Also for my passport in a RFID pouch? Your tablet and camera can stay in the protective sleeve as long as no other item is in the sleeve with it. My home airport just upgraded their x-ray screener and now no one has to remove any electronics from their bag so there is a chance you have not have to either. You used to have to take out an RFID wallet and place it in a bin but since TSA has upgraded their security systems this is no longer required and I have never had a issue keeping it in my bag.
Correct. Right before you go through security a TSA agent will check your ID. After that you can place your passport and other documents in your bag as you are going through the security check.

Belt removed and in the jacket, phone and all other idems in the multi pocketed jacket. Are each of these idems items required in a bin alone, 8 bins if so or can some be doubled up in a bin? Your laptop should go in a bin by itself. The tablet and kindle can go in another bin and then the rest can all go in another bin. You can even put your phone, belt and other odd items in your personal bag or in your jacket pockets.
Thanks, live in Central Washington state and a commuter flight to Seattle then an international flight to the Philippines via Taiwan and change planes there to Cebu-Mactan. Same airline, EvaAir. 2 Checked bags that Alaska will note that goes through to EvaAir without me required to retrieve and and recheck. First flight in 15 years.
For an asthma inhaler, you can keep it in your bag of liquids or if it takes up too much space you can choose to store it elsewhere. It can be more than the 3.4oz allowed since an inhaler is considered medically necessary. You will just have to let the TSA officers know that you have it so that they can properly screen it.

The hoses and mouthpieces do not need to be removed and can remain in their bags. Any electronics larger than a cell phone will need to go in the bins. So as long as the power banks are the size of your cell phone they can be kept in your carry-on or personal item bag.
My sizes were listed in inches but what you have is just about right when converted into cm. You can take shampoo, suntan etc in a carry-on but it has to be less than 100ml per item per the rule.

Thank you for this very informative video. QUESTION: I am only flying domestic in the US with only carry-on luggage. I understand that the TSA will allow me to bring a portable charger (they all use internal rechargeable lithium batteries) if it is less than 100 watts. I would like to use the kiosk to check-in but all of the videos on RU-vid that show how to use those kiosks show that there is a screen presented while using them that asks you to confirm you are not carrying any prohibited items and one of the prohibited items listed on that screen is "lithium batteries." Does this mean that I cannot use the Kiosk and have to check-in with at the airline's check-in desk and show them my portable charger for them to OK me bringing it on the plane?
Hi Jerry, you can use the Kiosk when checking in for your flight. The prohibited list containing lithium batteries refers to checked luggage only. You are prohibited from carrying loose uninstalled lithium batteries in a checked bag. Since you are just taking a carry-on you can just check in for your flight at the kiosk and then head straight to security. I travel with a portable charger all the time and I have always just kept in my backpack.

@@BenDreamVacations Ben, BTW - I fully understand what you explained, thanks for confirming my understanding, however, the kiosk screen depicting the prohibited items does not draw a distinction between stand-a-alone lithium batteries and components that contain lithium batteries (such as a portable charger) and the TSA website says any lithium battery that is under 100 watts is allowed in carry-on. It does not exclude "uninstalled lithium batteries" from that allowance. All cell phones contain lithium batteries and they are certainly allowed in carry-on by the TSA so the Kiosk literally is asking a person with a cell phone to state they are not bringing a lithium battery into the plane in carry-on when in fact they are. The kiosk could easily clear up this confusion by adding a sentence to the screen of prohibited items that explains that electronics that "contain" lithium batteries are allowed providing they are under 100 watts and only stand-alone (or as you refer to them) "uninstalled lithium batteries" are prohibited. I would just hate to find myself in the situation of checking in the kiosk that I don't have "any" lithium batteries (because that is all it is expressly asking me to deny) and then have the TSA at the security checkpoint charge me with making a false statement etc. etc.
@@JerryBruckner this is poorly done by American because without a doubt lithium batteries are allowed on the airplane. I watched the video and the kiosk also states that aerosols are prohibited as well which not entirely true since you can take aerosols that are 3.4oz or less. I also looked at American’s website and it clearly states that lithium batteries that are 100 wh or less are allowed in carry on luggage in addition to 4 spare batteries. I agree American should have more descriptive details when it comes to their kiosks to avoid confusion.

Most rings are not going to set off any alarms especially if they were made recently so you shouldn’t have to worry about that. Yes, you can put your laptop bag inside your carry-on and it will only count as 1 bag. If you are carrying an actual laptop you will still have to remove it when going through security so maybe wait until you are through security before you combining bags.

A new IPad still sealed in its original packaging is allowed. However, security officers may need to open/unwrap the IPad if additional screening is required.

Yes, you can carry and leave cash in a backpack. You won't need to take it out during the security check unless your backpack is full of cash and then you may get asked some questions. Anything over $10,000 you will need to declare.

For any medication that is in a liquid, gel, or cream form those will need to go in your bag of liquids unless your medication is medically necessary then you able to carry more than the 3.4oz limit. You will need to tell the security officer that you have them. You will then be asked to take them out for a manual inspection. It helps if you have a copy of any prescriptions but it’s not necessary.

Yes, your money belt will need to come off but I would place it in your personal item bag until you are through security. The same goes for your RFID card holder. Place it in your personal item bag. If you want to keep your card holder on you then that is when airport security will need to visually inspect it as it will interfere with the body scanner.
A hoagie will be fine to take through security but if you are taking a hoagie sandwich then just make sure there isn't anything liquid like in the sandwich.

Vapes can be carried in carry-on bags only. You will need to makes sure the heating element doesn't accidental activate. Also, each lithium ion battery cannot exceed a watt-hour rating on 100 or a lithium content of 2 grams. The airline you will be flying on may limit the number of vapes you carry so you will just need to double check to make sure you are not carrying more than is allowed.

A fanny pack would technically count as a personal item bag but it depends on how strict the airline wants to be with it. I think in most cases the airline won't take an issue with it since it doesn't take up much space. The worst case scenario would be that they ask you to put it in either your carry-on or personal bag.
It depends on if they are corded or not. If they are corded then you can pack them in any bag. If they contain batteries then they can only be packed in you carry-on or personal item bag. You won't need to take them out when going through security. Just make sure you have a safety cover for the hair straightener.
At most they may ask you to turn it on but they won't search through any information that is on it. I personally have never been asked to turn my ipad or laptop on. I just put it in the bin and pick it up once it's through the scanner.

There is always a chance the security officers will want to inspect it when they see it on the x-ray scanner but in general you can keep it in your carry-on bag as long as the battery is removed so it doesn't accidently heat up.
If you are bringing something into the country that you didn't leave with then you are subject to a tax. However, you do get a personal exemption of usually $800 depending on the country for any items you purchased outside of the country. Anything over that amount would be taxed.

You shouldn't have any issues taking internal parts of your PC. However, after it goes through the x-ray the TSA may want to inspect it manually so you may be asked to open your bag so they can look at it.
Your keys and cough drops etc are ok to leave in your jacket pocket. Your phone might be ok in the jacket. It just just depends on the type of jacket. If it’s thicker or has metal buttons it will probably get flagged. I usually just store my phone in my backpack or carry-on when going through security.

The rules haven’t changed but if your laptop cannot be x-rayed through your bag or if there is a heighten security threat you will be asked to take out your laptop.

I was required to give my phone, luckily it had water damaged and wouldn't turn on ... but still even I was able to turn on isn't it our right to have privacy....... if they bring the dog and the camera shows everything clear then why would I need to show my phone for?
They are not allowed to look through your phone. They would need a warrant for that. They can ask you to turn it on and they can inspect the physical aspect of your phone but not your personal data.

Hi Brandon, The TSA does allow one liquid hand sanitizer container up to 12 ounces per passenger in carry-on bags until further notice. They will need to be screened separately, which will add some time to the checkpoint screening.
We used to not have to take anything out of our bag, but ever since the terrorist attacks back in 2001 there have been added security measures ever since.

A good basis to work to but.... having flown through two international airports with no problem I was diverted to Manchester. It is a great shame one can't avoid the security people at Manchester because what is deemed ok at Dammam and Amsterdam is NOT ok at Manchester, if you are a white christian returned serviceman with his family. Relish being torn apart whilst gazing upon mozzies who do NOT have to take their belts off, do NOT have to remove their shoes and DO NOT have to remove their laptops from their bags. Meanwhile a Christian has his brand new, unopened perfumes, with receipt purchased airside at Dammam, confiscated. Why? Because the perfumes and receipt were not in an unopened bag. Heavy handed two tier security at it's best. Absolutey no confidence in these security morons whatsoever. It's all a charade. I want religious profiling at security and I want security staff trained to recognise who is the real threat and apprehended with the with the same vigour as they stop an ex - serviceman and his family.
