AirTags are the new iPhone tracking device that is great at helping you find your lost backpack, camera, car or whatever you decide to attach AirTag too. AirTags are great, but how durable are they if they get dirty or you drop an AirTag in water. In this video I show you if AirTag can withstand being submerged in water, dirt and if it works after being lost in less than adequate conditions. I also show how AirTags hold up to scratches. Picked up a 4 pack. Gave one to my son and currently using 2 myself. Works well. Had my truck in the shop overnight for a repair with the airtag on my key ring and could see the location update every few minutes. I did not put it in lost mode.

can track worldwide but the air tag has to come in connection to someone with wifi and an apple phone then it will signal you where your item is. Sounds crappy but its rare someone will not come close to it that has wifi and iphone.

Great information about the air tag. I might have to talk to my mom and see if that is something we should get my dad for his sunglasses. There is an Apple store on path to work. We usually stop by on the way if needed. If she does agree that air tags could help my dad, maybe we could just order online and get them in time for Father’s Day. I really don’t know if I need them myself but he could. You are my favorite RU-vid reviewer. I found others that I like but you give really good information. It is very accurate and credible. I really like Apple products compare to android products. Which products do you prefer?

I chose to engrave my AirTag. Delivery estimate shows that it won't be here until mid June. Sad. That was a test purchase. If I'm satisfied, I'll probably get a 4 pack and additional accessories. So far, from many RU-vid videos, they seem to be great!

I like to believe you can't put a price on peace of mind. I got the 4 pack for 90$ on Amazon, one for my keys, wallet, one hidden in my car and most importantly inside a necklace I gave to my mother who has dementia.

Field trip! 😉 I'm not sure putting the AirTag in a silicone case is a fair test of water resistance as that would give additional protection right around the AirTag's seal.

I’ve just bought one for my bicycle. I had it wedged in the seat but it fell out in the early hours on my way home from work. Just been to locate it as it did update and move down the road before losing signal. When I got to it’s last known location, it was on a bridge over a creek. Safe to say whoever found it, decided it needed a swim. Guess that’s a loss now 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

No, it has to have the U1 chip. Only iphone 11 and newer have that feature

Other RU-vidr's have tested it underwater and the signal does get impeded. So don't lose stuff underwater :-)

Because it doesn’t have the U1 chip, if you wanna use the precision tracking you need the iPhone 11 series or newer

Still better than nothing, if I lose my wallet then I look for the AirTag and can't find it then I can assume someone removed the battery witch indicates theft and malicious intent. If you lose your keys you might not instantly change your locks but if you have reason to believe they where stolen because the AirTag on your keys stopped responding then you change all your locks.

Exactly the same for me, my mother has dementia and I live with and take care of her. My constant fear is her wandering out of the house again (she has before) and those times I got lucky a good citizen recognized something was wrong with her and called the police. I got a necklace because jewelry is the one thing she never takes off, the necklace holds an AirTag. Gives me incredible peace of mind.

Stupid 😆 your phone is already constantly looking for signal. So it’s not “using battery”. Or doing anything to your phone other then updating the connection which takes seconds. It’s not as if it’s streaming video or using up your data

That's normal. All batteries degrade over time. Until someone invents a new battery, this is how it is. Apple just shows you it

Nah cuz the 2nd airtag he put in the shallow water was still working. It looks like the airtag doesn’t work if it’s in deep water but shallow water you should be good. 4:47 proves this
