I lost my little ball, it jumped right out, I didn't know it was there. Wish I had seen this video before I disassembled the hub:) Thank you for the nice instructions!
thanks your video was way better than any of the books I have on these hubs. Had to clean and reassemble for my toyota tacoma. Paused and zoomed in to see how the pawl and the clutch were attached by the spring. The hubs were assembled wrong by previous owner and the wheels would not free wheel. Now they work like they are supposed too.
@My Name The little ball goes between the handle part that you turn and the outer body of the locking hub, you should see a little hole in the sliding surface of the little round handle part. There will also be a small spring in there, which will hopefully be stuck in some grease.
Great vid. Clearly explained. Quick question. I've got a Suzuki Vitara Jlx 1998. It's got the original manual locking hubs on it- Not the Aisin ones...I don't think. The hubs have been stuck in the 'Locked' position for the last 4 years or so. Totally siezed. Can I dismantle the hubs as you've explained, from this position, or will doing this mess everything up?
@hiredhandful Hi mate, yeah, I've taken apart the auto locking hubs on mine before changin gto the manual locking ones, not too complicated. Good luck.
Sorry man, this was so many years ago. Wouldn't even know where to start to find some spare parts. Might be easier to just try and buy some good secondhand hubs.
