Can we talk about how he is constantly walking in on her and her bedroom? If the brother was still there that would never be allowed so why does he feel that he can do that now
@ladyofthelake93

Exactly! If her husband was still alive he'd probably have more than just words for is brother.

I feel like he was hoping that sister in law would develop feelings for him. After he was dressing in his brothers clothes. Probably goal was marry her then divorce her and take the house

The mother in law knew that her son and grandsons were like that and didn't want them in her house.

Point number1: It’s OP’S house, not BIL! Point number 2: BIL does not have the right to anything in there Point number 3: You know he told his kids the gifts were in there or cleared them to open them Point number 4: MIL can shut up and house her baby boy and the crotch monsters if that’s how she felt

Take accountability for the actions of your children. It's disguising he is probably hoping to get the how house

When we lost my dad, my mum left everything of his exactly where it was, his glasses, his shoes, his jacket. To her, it was a way of holding on to him for longer, keeping his presence. He was the last person to touch it and that meant something. It baffles me that there are people who wouldn't understand and respect that. Disgusting behaviour, very inconsiderate and selfish.

This one got my heart pumping. I have this weird boundary issue where I don’t like anyone going in my room. So heading that someone invaded her privacy enraged me idk what I’d do if that was me

I really HATE, despise the excuse “kids will be kids”. I am a mother and my daughter was 1, 2,3 and she was NEVER a savage, never. She never broke people’s stuff. She never painted in the walls and never threw herself at the mall when I said not to bring a toy. Some parents are do not like to parents to they let the kids be savages and have no manners. O bet the brother was there watching as they opened the presents.

I feel like they're almost trying to "steal" the house from OP. They want to live there but they don't want her there, so they're going to extreme lengths to make it inhospitable to her.

I know that this is sad fact to point out, but the BIL is wrong when he says "This is my brother's house." His brother is dead, which means he is no longer the owner of the property. Legally the new owner is his wife, the OP. It is up to her who gets to stay there. BIL has no claim to the house whatsoever and never did. She doesn't owe him anything.
@mommabear887

Yes he feels an entitlement to it. It just feels weird he's so invasive. Seems like he wants the house.

It's his brother's house? Uh, no honey. Unfortunately, your brother is dead and legally speaking, that means it's his wife's house. You be nice or you go!

He is mooching off of her !! And the children are not even watched !! They aren’t just a few gifts ! She is the wife and owns everything it’s his fault she isn’t the a** whole for that

I’m not gonna lie him liking op did cross my mind at a point during the story because it says he comes into the room at random times. Like I’m picturing him coming in at 10pm to borrow a shirt or extra early while she is in bed. Like she could come out of her shower and see bl in her room saying he just borrowing a shirt.

Honestly the BIL is verryyy lucky OP didn’t go crazy on him…we lost my dad in 2020 and the thought of any of my dads siblings coming into the house and poking around taking his things would have probably sent my mom, my sisters and I into a fit of rage.

DEAR GOD if I had kids who did something that horrendous, the very least you could do is take accountability, the thing you should actually do is have every last gift fixed, replaced exactly, and professionally re-wrapped before that poor woman ever has the chance to see the sentiment they violated. They destroyed his brother's lasting gift (literally) to his wife, and had the audacity to blame HER for her husband's stuff bring in their bedroom closet in their house that he's a guest in??? Even if he's grieving in the worst way possible, it's not an excuse to raid their merital home and trample all over her. Forget 3 days, I'd boot them immediately and cut off all ties. Like the commentator quoted, he's probably stealing stuff.

I just wanna point out, if the presents were behind a closed door, that’s technically breaking and entering where I live. Anything in common spaces is a different story, but anything behinds a closed door- does NOT have to be locked, just shut- it’s the breaking and entering, AND destruction of property! Screw that. Also… Kids are learning, and where do you think they would’ve learned this behavior from except… the brother/their dad? He doesn’t respect her boundaries, he clearly doesn’t care about her being HIS BROTHER’S WIFE and also family. Kids don’t learn cruel behaviors from nowhere.

Also if mother in law is so sure that her poor little boy is grieving the death of his brother. Why isn't mommy letting her baby boy move in with her?
@WinkyWave

I bet the family wanted brother in law to marry her - that way they can get the house back. I sure HOPE that’s not the case (it’s icky, invasive), but kind of what it sounds like with them pressuring her to house them, and then not taking her side in a very egregious, obviously intrusive situation. I can’t imagine, the poor wife (widow)…..I’d lose my shit.

I'm a stay-at-home mom and have never paid a bill in my home . But with that being said it is still MY HOME and the idea that somebody would refer to it as my husband's house if he passed away would automatically disqualify them for walking through my door. I will obviously disperse some mementos from my husband to his family members but the idea that any of them would automatically think they are entitled to things him and I shared is insane to me!
@TinaMay-rr6xi
@TinaMay-rr6xi 10 месяцев назад
Also the idea that anyone would walk in to someone's marital bedroom that they shared they're most intimate memories and touch anything after a spouse had died is also insane!

Sadly there are a lot of narcissist in the world and they’re on the internet to so it’s ok to call them out they need to be called out. People are to sensitive about it anymore they like to not hurt their feelings but narcissists don’t care about yours so why care about theirs they’re bad people and just don’t care to be. I think the only ones who gripe are the ones who are that way and it makes them mad you don’t like their horrible behavior. This guy definitely seems like one he’s a jerk who has no respect for this grieving wife, the wife of his own brother. He definitely needs to gtfo.

@Raraking4796
@Raraking4796 Год назад
It sucks because death like this literally tears familys apart. Like blood known each other their entire lives apart and it’s even messier when it’s in law if that makes sense. I agree with Lauren there has to be a way to get him out of the house without going nuclear because then I feel like she will just be proving the point of them calling her unhinged. Does op husband have a will I think the sooner they deal with that the better. They more claimly everyone can handle this the better. I think it’s WILD to tell a women to call the police and tell them that a man is acting violently towards her is crazy since there is absolutely no mention that I heard of him acting violently. She can say that she’s scared perhaps she truly is but especially as a women we should NEVER report to authorities that a man is acting violently towards us unless it’s actually true! It’s gross how many women take advantage of the fact that we are more likely to be believed and protected by the police no matter what the actual truth may be. What happens when you tell the police that a man is being violent with you when he is or even when he actually isn’t that man is most likely going to be arrested AND in many other situations possible even killed because you never know what police officer you may end up with and what their response to a “violent man” may entail .

I love you guys, but Morgan I can't help but feel a certain type of way by your use of the word "triggered". I feel like it's more of a clinical word when someone gets triggered, they cannot resume their normal activity because of the emotional turmoil they are in. They resolve to their bad coping mechanisms to calm down (or eventually hopefully positive coping mechanisms). But from your example it seems like you were annoyed or angered, rather them triggered which would be due to a past trauma that correlates to the present situation. I think the word triggered is overused and it belittles the meaning. Or the meaning of the word is changing, either way I wanted to share my thoughts. Thank you if you read this.
@KittyCurioso
@KittyCurioso Год назад
That is absolutely true. Recent studies have shown that being triggered is a negative thing. It’s not normal. People have somehow lost the ability to be resilient . These poor people will be unable to function in society. They need to learn to be resilient instead of triggered
@trilogy135
@trilogy135 Год назад
Yeah I would say that it is very overly used because of social media, and the meaning has changed a bit or the context in which most of the younger generation uses it. My teen cousin says “she’s triggering me” as in “she’s annoying me/making me mad”. I’m sure that’s how Morgan used it as well.

Idk if this helps, but to get a full outfit look when I visit my parents I stand on the edge of the bathtub to look in the mirror. It's kinda awkward to balance up there, but it works.

Why does his family keep throwing the fact the house was her husband's in her face. It's obvious he was madly in love with her and cared for her. Why does his family feel so entitled to the house. She was who he chose to spend his life with. I would throw him out purely based on that alone. I would be like f-ing excuse me, did he pick you to spend his life with, or did he marry me, because if anyone is entitled to the house its the woman who has been taking care of it. I doubt he would want his brother giving her a hard time and would want him to not leech off his wife while she's going through one of the hardest things to go through in your life.
