Both motors and engines output mechanical energy for use, but motors are fed energy from another source. An electrical generator shoves electrons down a wire to turn an electric motor. An air compressor shoves air down a hose to turn an air motor. And a hydraulic pump shoves hydraulic fluid down a hose to turn a hydraulic motor. You have already figured out that generators, compressors, and pumps, need to be turned by either a motor, or an engine. Engines, on the other hand convert potential energy in fuel into mechanical motion. It is interesting that a steam engine is a steam motor with an attached firebox and steam boiler. Many people, including automotive professionals, call engines 'motors', but nobody but a fool would call a motor an engine. It would be nice if the company was called, General Engines, but it's not. This discussion is almost as frustrating as the one about "bolts" vs. "screws." You think there is a real difference between them until you look them up and see that idiots have been around for so long that they have ruined those words too.

The 481x has standard bbc bore spacing. The name refers to the block design. It has raised cam and larger cam bore, lifters are spread, the blocks are skirted and the mains are cross bolted. Mainly the 481x is known for its improved valve train

Internal Combustion alright, AJPE makes two engines, a 481X which is more like a BBC and they make a Hemi! This is a Hemi not a 481X. It says it on the sign right above the motor as well if you don't believe me.

They only are sold BARE (no vavle/springs,etc) For a Pair they are $6,865.00, The Billet block cost $9,600

You didn't do bad...I would love to have seen what he said when you asked, "HOW MUCH" Or specs on the heads...CC's/CFM's ;-) The Stage 4 heads they don't give #s. Stage 3 heads are close to 600cfm, about twice srt 6.1 hemi or LS2 corvette heads. Thoses heads flow enough to make 1 Veyron/Koenisgsegg engine amount of power per cylinder( 1,000

Pushrods are old technology. They cannot sustain high RPM like an OHC design. Also there are limitations with variable valve timing.
