i would also point out that empty mags on the floor/ground could be a slip/trip hazard but bullets need to be distributed to the threat , keep eyes/muzzle pointed at the threat , good information/video , keep up the good work ;-)

Good point concerning the tripping. Yes, in a firefight, you want to keep your eyes on the threat - not on your magazines. The more you train, the easier it will be to do it "blind". Thank you for your inputs!

On underhand charge, use your thumb exclusively. Less awkward and easier when the hammer is forward

Russian Special Forces do recommend a different way to reload it, when you already have a magazine in the hands. Without the fancy kicking out the magazine with the other magazine.

Yes, other people already mentioned this. I'll have to revise the emergency reload. Thanks for the tip!

@@vorwaerts_nie_zurueck actually you should just add it to your repertoire and show it, cause the rest of the video was pretty good.

My own two cents: Standard reload can be adjusted, instead of grabbing the mag and actuating the release paddle, simply swipe your thumb and push the release paddle and old mag out. It's very common for inexperienced users on the AK platform to attempt to find the release paddle when grabbing the mag, often slowing the process. In an emergency reload scenario, might as well keep it simple. Klayco47 uses this particular method on the regular due to its consistent, no nonsense approach. The emergency reload you demonstrated, I'm personally not a fan of it. It works, but in stress or trying to get it as fast as possible, a fully loaded mag being flung forward can certainly slow the process down, and not uncommon to fiddle the reload because you're too far forward. Taking the 'Speed Reload' solution you showed, you can actually just swipe your thumb to rock out the old mag whilst the new mag is in hand, reducing the amount of inertia and wasted movement. The new mag is also in a much better position to be fitted into the magwell, as it's parallel to the receiver and facing upwards. Particularly notable that many well known shooters like Polenar Tactical, Travis Haley and Klayco47 use this reload to achieve their fastest results. Polenar has noted that if you're using tight fitting mags or Yugo bolt hold open or similar, using the mag to remove the old one may be required but STA Training Group advises using the underside. They've seen users make errors where they hit the release paddle in an odd angle, misaligning a round which can cause a malfunction or best case scenario, lose a round. Using the underside takes away this problem. Of course, there are many different ways to swing it, learning to optimise your reload methods and choosing the right one is key to getting better. I hope this helps!

"simply swipe your thumb and push the release paddle and old mag out. " this method is recommended by a senior Delta force operator Shrek who used AKs in combat, all the other ways are slower, although they look much cooler.

Switching the safery can be a bit challenging if you have a old gen selector switch. Especially with one hand while reloading
@vorwaerts_nie_zurueck
@vorwaerts_nie_zurueck Год назад
True, but in a fire fight you probably shouldn't engage the safety anyhow. The aftermarket safety levels are great
