With that same screw driver tool, (at least in the WASR) You can wedge it in the round hole between the wood stock and the rear trunnion and use it to push the wood stock out which most times is pressed very tight.😁
I remember you reviewing the Century BFT47 does it have this cleaning kit? Also does anyone make longer stock and a wooden pistol grip for the AK? I’m not a fan of black plastic pistol grip looking ugly when my stock and hand guards are wood
Actual AK47's are the original MILLED RECEIVER Rifles. If it doesn't have a MILLED RECIEVER then it is not an AK47. All the Stamped Receiver Rifles are 'AKM.' 47s or 74s. You already know this of course.
The cap is also used over the barrel tip to protect the crown from damage when using the cleaning rod. The screw driver is also used to scrape carbon out of the gas block.
I used to believe the Kalashnikov was superior, until a friend gifted me his troublesome plastic Bushmaster (Carbon-15) out of frustration with the weapon’s malfunctions. Out of curiosity, I decided to disassemble and reassemble it on a mil-spec upper and lower. I became a true believer the day I took it to the range to test fire it. 3/4” groups at 100yards and zero malfunctions.
My favorite trick is definitely using the bolt carrier to open up the Gas tube lever. That has saved me a lot of aggravation after I learned it. Great video Rob!
This kinda illustrates the differences in philosophy. Americans would say they need a Leatherman tool to do that. Pretty soon they are carrying 120 lbs. of crap. I am guilty of this thinking.
As someone who has laid out my AK cleaning kit and often wondered what each part, notch, bend and pokey bit was for, I would love to see more videos like this one! Thanks, man! As entertaining and informative as ever!
Very informative video, and yes I would like to see more uses for the cleaning kit. But if I tried to adjust the front sight drum on my WASR 10 by tapping it with a magazine the magazine would be scrap metal before the sight moved at all.
Great to hear it, thank you for watching and commenting!!!! And PS: you need the tool then: ak4774.com/product/magna-matic-front-sight-adjustment-tool/
I too would love to see more videos on the cleaning kit. Sorry about highjacking this post but for whatever reason i am unBle to make my own comment on your content.@AkOperatorsUnion
Please make the video with more uses of the cleaning kit! I didn't know any of this stuff and it's just amazing to see how well thought out this rifle is. Thanks for telling us all about it!
Wow !! That was good, Lots of stuff I did not know! Mosins have some secrets too..I use the bolt connecting rod to unscrew the firing pin...I will have to watch this one a few times....
Thank you, Rob! Please continue to make more of these educational videos. Today I should be receiving in the mail the Front Sight Adjustment Tool and the AK Bootcamp Book from your online store, so I shall no longer be a cheap peasant. 😆🤣
ROB GREAT VIDEO! Yes I read about the ak cleaning kit uses including using the bolt carrier slot to help release the gas tube lever.. Please do more vids like this.
There's also a good slot on the cleaning kit for turning the gas tube retainer. Another huge one is using the cap to hold your springs when you are removing the trigger.
Роб, шомпол удобно извлекать ударом ладони снизу и вдоль ствола. При ударе шомпол изгибается и головка выходит из зацепления. Отличное видео, спасибо! Rob, it’s convenient to remove the ramrod by hitting your palm from below and along the barrel. Upon impact, the ramrod bends and the head disengages. Great video, thanks!
As usual, AKOU Is hands down the best channel providing contents on AK platform. Keep on with the good job! Can't wait to see a video about the secrets of the cleaning kit 😮😮😮
I love these videos! I’m not even an AK guy and I find your videos exceptionally informative and entertaining. These videos on the “baked in” tools for the AK platform are amazing!!!
WOW - this was really eye-opening - I now understand even MORE why the AK is such a long-term successful firearm - thanks for sharing this useful info !!
Please more cleaning kit hacks! It's one of my favorite features of the AKs of old. Hidden design assets are so versatile to do more with less. Many thanks!
Great video! All my buddies love the AR15 platform and ask why my favorite is the AK. It’s like this, the AR15 platform has far more internal parts than the AK, more parts equal the potential for more failures. Also the tight tolerance’s on an AR will produce far more failures in the field versus the AK.
Always love coming back to review your AK47 comments, ideas & help with the videos you provide. Your enthusiasm for being safe and thinking about what we are doing at all times makes my day better!
Your videos are very informative and useful. Thanks for making them. Keep them coming. Glad you're the US. My father was stationed in Ft. Benning in the early 60s. We were quartered in Kelly Hill while my dad was in Sand Hill. It's a small military world, my friend.
Thanks for the tips Rob. I would absolutely like to know all the rest of them too. Also it would be nice if you showed how to clean the 5.56 aks if you have to use a different cleaning kit than a 7.62x39 one.
My piece of knowledge to add is that 5.45mm stripper clips for your AK74 rifle mags also holds 9mm rounds and can feed into the Vityaz style rifle mags (KP9/KR9 in USA).
Hello. Please continue to produce a video that reveals more of the secrets! Thank you for being a great advocat for the AK-47 and other Russian rifles.
I didn't know you had another channel man, you should mention the fact you have others. I've been watching the sniper rifle shooting one for some time and only randomly found this. you are one of the few gun tubers I can rely on for good information.
Good stuff, Sir !!! I appreciate your efforts to keep us abreast of all the intricacies of the AK system. Things are much easier when we know how to do it the best way.
You are amazing. So many untold, kept secret and useful surviving tricks on this simple and tough AK platform. I am sure even Russian army doesn't know every little detail that Kalashnikov has put in this rifle.
Thank you Robski! I remember once seeing either this same video or an earlier version that had all this useful information. I’m going to be sure to like this video so I can find it again in the future. I failed to like the video I mentioned and could never find it again.
My wife’s family had an old Soviet SKS and AK from the 60s I got to play with it a lot when I lived in Russia. Loved it. Wish I knew more about this back then because yes that cleaning rod is stubborn.
I used to work at a very large gun shop, and my manager was the head of a machine gun club. He owned several AKs and the Finnish one being his favorite, but he knew all these things too and this video reminded me of him. He actually worked in South Africa as a mercenary. He also worked for the US government and helped provide AKs to the South Vietnam. Great firearms, but I prefer ARs because I know then inside and out.
