Just a heads up for anyone installing after-market jog wheels or the jog wheel with the thumb divot. They are not D-cup fitted like the standard knob as you can see in this vid, you have to install it with a provided Allen wrench, but also make sure you don’t let it sit too low on the knob fixture otherwise you will not be able to click it for selecting menu items. And there’s even a point where you can click it but the selection won’t register, so you have to play around with the height before you tighten it on, just make sure you’re able to click the knob and it actually registers when menu diving. Changed my pads and knobs recently and got scared that I fucked things up when it wouldn’t click or register
@@KellzFox But have you noticed any delay when turning the encoders with new buttons? Mine seem to have a slight delay in operation so I went back to default encoder buttons.
Bro….🤦🏾♂️ I’m just like you, I thought you had to take the machine apart in order to install the knobs (that’s why I didn’t do it). I’m gonna def do it now! Thx 4 the video!
nice to see the camo skin in use, I've been thinking about it. this will be my first mpc but far from my first sampler (started on a korg es1 at 13). if anything I've got an addiction to samplers and have an addiction to learning all the different types of sequencing, programming. tracking, etc haha. mpc seems like the only thing I haven't tried yet. can't wait
Thanks. It's all good. Everything aint for everybody. It's just a part of the game. It doesn't stop my grind either way. :) I also recently posted the video where I opened up the machine.
really educational- thank you for showing this. I got my MPC One a month ago. Been having a blast learning. I got the gold edition. Changing its look is way off in the future but I have been thinking about it. This lends tons of insight here. Great video. EDIT: Also, forgot to mention; you're MPC looks dope! 🤙🏼
No really. U jus have to make sure u line it up right. I had one spot I had to trim around a bottom because I didn’t get it exactly straight. But no bubbles for me. Just clean it good with alcohol first.
Let me ask you a question. And when you remove this skin, the vinyl glue will not remain on the device? I also want to, but I'm afraid that if I need to change the vinyl skin or remove it, then the glue will remain on the device like from scotch tape.
I don’t plan to change it. It stays in the case when not in use so my unit is in pristine condition. However, I would think a Qtip and some Goof Off would take care of removing any residual glue.
I almost took mine apart but decided not to because I just don't want to risk messing up this thing, was too expensive. I take laptops apart all of the time but they are kind of meant for it ( upgrading ram at least ) and this mpc doesn't look like it wants people to open it up. There is that shock warning on there. With my luck, I would get shocked AND screw up the machine permanently. The REC button is sticky. I think a tiny bit of soda got spilled in it, because it is sticky. Nothing else is affected so I must have cleaned it off in time. I was hoping you showed how to remove the faceplate but I did not see it in this video, I will look and see if you have another video or if there is one on youtube. Your machine looks great by the way.
Yea I get that. I hear that MPC Ones can mess up easily if you take them apart and don't have a solid grounding of what you're doing. Id be scared to take mine apart too. I would probably take it to Guitar Center if that time comes.
yes it’s still touch sensitive. it’s not the knobs that make it touch sensitive, it’s the bar that the knobs go on that has the sensitivity technology.
@@asavagehandproductions186 sorry. I didn’t think about it when i did the skin. I actually received the skin about a week before the knobs. It was really very easy.
@@asavagehandproductions186 just take your time. I will say it’s best to clean your surfaces with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. The adhesive is very strong so make sure you line it up well first. Do a test fit before you peel off the paper to expose the adhesive. You can rub/squeegee out most bubbles.
