Today we swing by the ICW Boat Ramp in Orange Beach Alabama. This new Boat Launch is designed to be able to handle 9 vessels launching at a single time, given the fact that the boaters are experienced and know how to navigate in tight quarters. Most of the time, its a Gulf Coast Train Wreck. Thanks for watching the film and dont forget to smash that Like Button and Subscribe! #BoatRamp #BoatLaunch #orangebeach

Proper depth on the trailer is the key. So many people don't spend the time to figure that out. It will save a lot of hassle and possible damage if you can figure that out.
@Ray56z
@Ray56z 11 месяцев назад
This ramp is a little steeper by several degrees than most, actually is easier to load being this steep once one figures it out. It does change your marks if you've gotten use to them on less steep ramps. Personally, my favorite ramp is about the same degree as this. With the smaller boat I can launch/load with the short tongue and not even get the rear tire saltwater wet, nor the full tongue, wiring. My friends favorite ramp, with my smaller boat I stop with the water under the front of the door frame. His tongue is ridiculously long though. His 19' skiff trailer is 4' longer than mine for the KW263, or his dads Kl 26'.

I fished alot of bass tournaments back in the day and people at the boat ramp where amazed at how fast we could launch a boat, and load a boat back on the trailer. Once the tires hit the ramp 2min. tops maybe even less.

Unhook winch, back boat in water with operator, park truck, walk back to dock and get in boat. It doesn’t even take 1 minute of ramp time. Edit: boat operator moves boat the hell out of the way until truck guy is at dock

It's so interesting watching these videos. Love the channel man just subbed. I have to say as a boat owner for 3 years why don't people take the time to learn how to trailer the boat. Ask a buddy to show you, watch some RU-vid videos, and take your time. Before I launched my boat for the first time I had a very experienced buddy show me how to launch and recover my boat 4 times before attempting it. Biggest things I've learned take your time and think through the whole process, even make a check list if you need to. Thanks for doing this man. It helps a TON to have a resource like this to continue learning how to operate safely.

Most of them are backing the trailer too far in the water to load, the boat needs surface contact with the trailer bunks to help line up everything.
@Esteban_Herrera
@Esteban_Herrera Год назад
Exactly. That's what I said in my post. Get the back end to just float and that is far enough. Then notice the trailer's fenders depth. For my boats it was just below the water's surface. Pulling the boat out I just backed up till the fenders just went below the water's surface. Worked on all angle ramps.

You haven't seen an attitude like you see for just offering a suggestion, let alone offering to do it. I would rather walk into a wolfs den with a quarter of beef padlocked to my back than offer any suggestions or help. I will no longer help until I see injuries-I've even stood by allowing foreseen damage to boats, trailers, tow vehicle to happen. Done being the good samaritan at the ramp.

Watching people launch and recover watercraft is always a spectacle. Find yourself a popular boat launch and just sit and watch for a little while, it wont take long before you are wondering "what the hell are they doing?" Where I live here in California it always seems to be the people with the most expensive vessels that don't have a clue what they are doing. I always feel sorry for the wives with husbands that have no clue what they are doing, because the husband always gets man at the wife for him not know what the hell he is doing, and the wife takes the brunt of his frustrations.

Dude at the end with the pontoon. Close your bimini, pull the trailer up some so you touch the bunks sooner. If the wind is blowing you around, start out straight but 5 or 10 feet to the side, so by the time you get to the trailer, you're right in front of it instead of trying to pivot the boat on top of the trailer.

I feel like im doing things wrong after seeing so many people power drive up there boat. Although certain boat launches in Michigan dont allow it. Ive only owned my 21-foot boat for one season. Launched and retrieved over 20 times. But never had the problems these people have. We approach the dock. I slowly creep in. My girl and i reach for the posts and hold the boat steady. She gets out on the dock with the rope connected to the bow eyelet. Wraps it once around a post near the front. Then i get out to go get the trailer while she simply hold the back of the boat in place. I pull in fenders and tips of bunks at top of water. Get out. My girl tosses me the rope from the dock. I physically pull the boat on the bunks till it stops about a foot or 2 from the winch. Strap it up. Then whench it up tight. Pull out slowly. If my trailer is close. The process takes no more than 60 seconds. Idk..... please tell me if im doing something wrong. I do get my ankle wet just to pull the rope in. But never had a problem so i stuck with it. About to winterize next week.

@kevinrivard3875
@kevinrivard3875 9 месяцев назад
@DJares3 I was told that is why the dock area always gets screwed up and needs to be dredged out. Because power loading pushes the lake floor to other sides and makes it shallower in other areas. Haven't been boating for long. But seen videos about it and it kinda made sense. Especially seeing your drone videos. It looks like a muddy swamp in Louisiana. 🤣

Driving a trailer is tough. Look at the dock. Pick one with the wind blowing the boat into the dock. Pull the truck around, so you just have to back straight up. Look at the whole picture. If you can get it lined up a couple of feet off the dock, then you won't have to steer in reverse.
@Acula33RC
@Acula33RC 2 месяца назад
People just loose thier mind at the ramp. Forget simple physics like how outside forces react to their boat. They just aim straight and go. No one knows how to lead and aim for wind and current. Sometimes I look like I'm going to hit the dock and just drift right in the bunks. Plan your approach. Lines and bumpers secured and all on board my boat have a job and I let them know before we ever get close to the no wake zone.

Why do new boaters refuse the free training most boat dealers offer when you buy a boat? If the dealer or the owner refuse to offer some free training, look elsewhere. I watched a new boater kill a battery trying to start the engine. I heard is wife/gf ask him why he refused the dealers offer. I offered help and had the motor running in quickly. They should also take some cones and find an empty lot and practice backing a trailer.

JetSki is Kawasaki, Sea•Doo is BRP, and Waverunner is Yamaha. Just wanted to let everyone know that. If it has a fountain/rooster tail it is a Yamaha. If it does not, either the owner had it disabled or it is not a Yamaha
