The AVGN reviews the Aladdin Deck Enhancer! In this Angry Video Game Nerd (episode 167) the Nerd gets the gift that keeps on giving from Aladdin... an upper decker! Well, the Aladdin "Upper Decker" Enhancer for the NES that is. This piece of toilet waste was made in 1992, during the decline of the Nintendo Entertainment System by the guys who made the Game Genie. It has very few games, like Big Nose Freaks Out, a bunch of Dizzy the Egg titles, and of course Micro Machines. The Nerd WISHES he didn't have to review it!

As a guy who designed one of the Dizzy games (4th one) I'm actually super-chuffed that the only good thing the Nerd had to say about them was about a change I made: not dying in one hit anymore! When I played 1-3 to get a sense of the earlier games, that was the thing that pissed me off the most. It had to go. 30 years later ... decision validated by the Nerd! \o/

The AVGN show was never meant to be solely a reviewing show. It has always been about a character who's easily frustrated and gets in arguments with characters he meets up with during the review. If you are looking for a show that mainly focuses on reviewing the game, the AVGN is not what you're looking for.

I don’t know why but the intro bit with Aladdin taking an “upper decker” always has me laughing so hard. It’s just so absurd. Why would Aladdin be in the Nerds bathroom and why would he be taking a dump in such a bizarre way? I also think the reaction from the Nerd is great. He’s more shocked and surprised than actually angry. Just the way he says: “Aladdin?!?” kills me. Implying that Disney’s Aladdin is a frequent visitor to the his house. I’m not sure why but it just works so well for my sense of humor.

There were things I enjoyed about it, but the many inconsistencies and plot holes that you could drive a truck through completely took me out of the movie. I'd elaborate, but what's the point? Besides, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it.
