So, let's get this right. Shearer, who was part of some shocking England performances and won nothing, now sits on a panel of pundits criticising others for the same inadequacies he demonstrated. The irony!

He won the golden boot at euro 96 amongst some top strikers, also scored at the world cup and next euros, led the team from the front and never hid away from anything. Might not of won but could so easily have in euro 96, I'd gazza was half a stone lighter or half an inch taller, even if he wore longer studs or a slightly bigger shoe, Alan shearer could quite easily have won something with England, tye problem is, the generations since haven't even come that close.

@@GhettomadnessUk2015 Another way of looking at it would be that they threw away that final from a comfortable, winning position against a very poor Italian team that's just been knocked out by Switzerland and didn't even qualify for the world cup 2 years ago after losing to Macedonia.

But Britain is not part of the EU anymore so will allow certain ingredients to be put in and accept more American made food products with all types of preservatives 😬

To me, it’s the media culture and a deep lack of objectivity it brings when making team selections, the fans club rivalry worsens the collective efforts in getting behind the national team while club fans and the media at large waits for a slip up to abuse and rubbish rival club players.🙌🏽

I agree, our fans are so negative and it's so typical of our media to lap it all up. Yesterday was frustrating, yes but calling for the manager's (and certain players) heads after the second game of the groups. Pretty fairweather if you ask me.

@@hmq9052 The whole point of Blair and things like catastrophic constitutional change, PPI, growing the size of the public sector and mass immigration, was that much of the negative effects wouldn't really be noticed until long after he'd left office. The financial crisis and QA that followed it under Brown followed by Cameron was the cherry on the cake.

Alan Shearer is like Harry kane. He's not a big game player. There's a reason he only has one trophy in his whole career often forgotten amongst greats. All he has is stats Another player like that is Salah. He's just lucky he played with other big game players.

Terrible logic. You don't have to win everything to know what you're talking about, he was a player in a team game. If you take his thoughts (a former England captain) as a pinch of salt then you should take everybody else's the same too.
