I'm not methodic. Its just that the CB playstyle which provides the highest DPS rely on a slow axe and unsafe SAED. Tbh, if sword mode had higher damage I'd much rather prefer gameplay that'd utilllize the overheated sword and parrying, with occasional saed spam. Ty 4 watching and commenting

@@lovehow-6711 I said this because of your work on timing, some moments when you waited a bit to get round slash parries and stuff. I tend to be more aggressive and less thoughtful, heavily relying morphing guard point. Anyway good stuff

Yeah I suppose. My problem with guard break though is that it isnt really consistent with elder dragons because the moment you parry they'll already continue with another attack, and you cant really punish properly without losing damage, but thats just me though lol. Another thing (and this is really apparent) is that elemental builds requires a lot of necessary skill points so unfortunatly you cant really use guard parries to its fullest potential. I usually just side step in order to cancel the frames of the CB. A tip that I really should've used is to use AED if you are certain that the SAED aint gonna connect properly. and to mount alatreon when hes in the air, which is another mistake i made. Happy to help man. Yeah i agree, the consensus on CB usage is to just spam savage axe attacks, neglecting every other move in its arsenal . Its so incredibly lackluster and really is insulting because of how diverese and unique its movesets are. They dont call CB the most complicated weapon for no reason afterall.. But I did use SAED again towards the end because he was then weak again towards the fire phase. The second phase of alatreons elemental transformation makes alatreon weak towards the fire element. Fire and ice in the second phase has little to no impact against the respective elements , hence why i switched up to the savage axe instead of using ice SAED. Sure I couldve used a dragon SAED build since no matter what phase hes in, hes always weak toward it, but that wouldve prolonged the time defeating alatreon and basically make SAED useless. If i played my cards a bit better I couldve utilized mounting alatreon and have him stay in the fire phase.

​@@lovehow-6711 SAED spam is useless vs Alatreon mechanic in the first place. You got your ele topple because of Kjarr ice's insane ele stat, crit ele on normal sword hit + shield thrust not because of SAED dmg since with phials, it requires 10 times more of ele dmg than normal attacks. Dragon SAED is useless as well since in fire/ice phase Alatreon is extremely resistance vs dragon and take some meh dragon dmg in dragon phase. I say if you really want to do a saed only vs Alatreon run then Fatty CB + artillery secret + eat a cart for Fortify is the only realistic option.

you are aware that im tenderizing the monster not to look like a badass but to increase my already extremely high affinity on this build so that the saed actullay connects instantaneously and have a percentage, right? Forgive me, i dont have a PHD on Mhw numbers (not a slight, i appreciate your peoples work), but you're a fool if you think that shield bashing and sword mode are the only factors that contribute to elemental damage. I can assure you that i wouldnt even topple alatreon once if i only used what you dispute as fact. Like, are you actullay telling me that SAED, a notorious attack that majority of people think is specifically attributed to ele damage is absoloutely redundant on alatreon? Why would kjarr ice be any different to literally any other CB with built in elemental damage, tell me. And lastly, Fatalis is specifically focused on dmg, so is the artillery perk, they are not meant for an ele build. Im sorry if my post sounds condescending, it wasnt my intention. @@lovehow-6711The dude above probably meant that Alatreon's elemental topple has some elemental damage modifications depending on the weapon, and elemental phials mod is x0.1, so your ~300 per elemental phial is adding only adding about 30 point to the topple, more or less. I haven't really tried only SAED spam or only SnS hits, I may try just to see if Strongarm Ice is that busted with only SnS mode.

Yeah i suppose that makes sense. i never knew about alatreons elm modifications, though i suppose the phase is the evident factor lol. so if a phial does 30 per phial, then having 5 will inrease its foliage to even more ele damage right? The 30 points per phial should have a way more of an impact than just spamming bash and sword mode with the CB to actively topple alatreon and continuing on the raw dmg. The CB isnt the sns nor the insect blade, but surely the developers created elemental phials for a reasonable intention, and for those intentions to especially have a discernible impact on alatreon since hes yknow, really weak against elemental. @@mrmanolomax7328

Yo made this vid a long time ago and tbh dont remember the entirety of the build lol. But focus on maxing ice attack and focus lvl 3, and to also try to mount after he turns to his ice phase. Gl man
