His stretch with the Cardinals was positively legendary 11 seasons, 2000+ hits, 400+ home runs, 600+ runs above average, 50+ postseason RBIs Oh yeah, and in 2007, he was the most valuable defender in the National League (25 Total Zone Runs)

11 seasons with STL, 2k+ hits total, 400+ HRs, 600+ RBI, 50+ Postseason RBI, 2007 Most Valuable Defender... And the best one of em all: *2 Time World Series Champion First Baseman*

First ballot HoF'er Albert Pujols just endorsed Yadier Molina as a first ballot HoF'er. I think we might all be underestimating this moment? The leverage Pujols has to say something like that is pretty awesome as a Cardinals fan.

@Tegan4114
@Tegan4114 3 года назад
@@jeffr3744 Lol. When all is said and done Mike Trout statistically and accolades wise could potentially be the greatest baseball player to ever play and that’s by a long shot. All of this while playing 100 less games last year and only 40 his first year. Where it falls apart for Trout is postseason and World Series accomplishments which is embarrassing and prior to signing his massive deal wasn’t his fault, now it’s totally on him and his 426 million to turn it around. I do believe if Albert stayed in STL that the Cardinals would have nabbed another WS title or two between 2012-2015. That team was still elite back then and Albert would have put them over the top.

Yeah probably. I was mad at the time too but looking back Anaheim offered such a ridiculous amount of money I dont blame him at all for taking it. It was literally double st louis’ offer. He felt offended, also he was offended because we didnt give him security during the seasons

Gah that should be a cardinal hat on his head still :-(. Its not his fault and its not st louis’ fault that he left. Anaheim made an absolutely BALLISTIC offer that he had to accept and that St Louis could not match. Stupid Anaheim has ruined Mike Trout’s prime with that contract and cant pay for pitching or any utility players necessary to compete. Anyways loved seeing this. Always an Albert fan.

Nah, let's hope not. I thought that initially, too, but why mess with this send-off? It was just about perfect. Plus, wouldn't want to feel obligated to cheer for an opponent in the WS. He'd be booed, and rightfully so at that stage. Let's just play some other teams in the WS for the next three straight seasons. I'm fine with Albert never making the playoffs again.
