No, vocals would ruin this music. That is a defining element of this band, being instrumental. The music would have to be toned down for vocals to fit in properly. There are plenty of vocal bands for you to wrap your ears around, there’s only a handful of amazing instrumental bands. This is not supposed to be easily consumed music…
This album has really tuned me to AAL. The other albums were good, but this really set a blaze under me. Love the darker vibes, and more technicality. Thoughts and Prayers by Motionless In White, in case you remember.
What SeenFeen says is true, what also makes the thall sound imo is having djenty timefuckery breakdowns and 'evil' sounding harmonies on the lead guitar imo, those gnarly offpitch bends
You could never write (good) vocals to existing animals tracks. There’s just no space and no need. The instrumental parts are so rhythmically and harmonically dense there’s just no space for a vocal line to sit. Plus, as you said, the instruments are doing the story telling already. Having said all that, I’d love them to write some more vocal friendly stuff. I think it would be cool if they did an album where each track has a different guest vocalist and that’s it. That’s their album with vocals. No more.
I personally think vocals just aren't needed. A lot of the intricate musicianship and complex composition would be lost behind vocals. Their music is specifically designed around being instumental. Not saying it wouldn't be cool to hear though
Fr. I think a single track or something could be cool. I think very intermittent vocals would be the perfect type of implementation. Like a minute of vocals in a 5 minute song just to let each musician shine
