Hydra is just hunllef 2 but nerfed without the damaging floor moves which immediately made him my favorite boss in OSRS. Thanks for the guide, the ending kill with no commentary really helped tremendously
I just tried my first few attempts at the Alchemical Hydra and I always try bosses and quests without guides because I like the challenge. Most of the mechanics are pretty straightforward, I just kept getting hit by the acid and empowering the hydra by running around like a freaking spaz when the lightning stuff dropped. Oh and I kept getting screwed over by the fire as well. I managed to get 3 KC with 1 death so far. I tend to allow myself to look at guides after I managed a couple of kills blindly. So thank you very much for all the useful info! I will surely try that fire skip cause that fire is the worst!
I appreciate the video brotha! just got to 95 slayer, got on task and took me about 3 kills to get a handle on it. I'm already confident in doing long trips! tiles helped a lot!
@@TheSpazDevil Great guide, thanks a lot for making it! You can export your tiles the same way as importing, just right click on the map and click on export, it will only copy the tile markers in the area around you.

When using melee for the jad phase, step back at least 2 tiles before the poison attack. After the attack, run back forward to continue damaging. This avoids being unable to attack the hydra while the flames last.

the fire skip is so forgiving! the blowpipe with amethyst darts really does work there! if youre nervous give it a shot! hydra does more damage the later in the fight so you really need to get those prayer switches right.
I need to give credit where it’s due I’ll revisit this comment; the tiles were influenced by another content creator, I removed a couple and reworked it, during the part of the video where I demonstrate a kill you will spot some extra tiles during the red phase, I tested the lightning skips and all other methods and while there are a few ways to shave off an extra 5-10 seconds, running across the room and figuring out exactly when to move when you see the lightning by hydras foot, this proved to be an amazing balance between speed and reliability making sure you virtually never make a mistake, one thing to add is if you are using a long range weapon, the bofa or say a twisted bow, while running across the room during the lightning skip, you will pass the second lightning ball on your way across the room, as soon as you are a solid tile ahead of that one feel free to sneak in an extra attack while you are running just to get some extra DPS, play around with it etc. Thanks so much got watching and leaving a comment, I’m a new creator and I’m not the richest player or even maxed but I love the game and felt I could make some helpful videos, feel free to suggest something and I’ll have a crack at doing it
for anybody who overcomplicates things or thought the timing would be like 6:0 gwd strats it's really not. unless he mentions a specific cue u just got to get to last tile for the phase before the phase ends
I prefer to count the attacks, sometimes the animation for the attack change will stall if he switches attacks on the same tick as he changes phases, waiting for the animation is not fool proof.
Lightning hits you you take small damage and move away no biggie, similar to fire if you mess up fire skip you can spam click the tile i mention to move to and it will fix the issue, worst case scantily you mess up keep moving avoid the attacks or teleport out and try again until you nail the method. It only takes 10-15 kills before you perfect the method it’s a very easy boss once it clicks
Nice video but i could suggest you bringing bracelet of slaughter to extend your task and bofa is horroble here. If you got extra funds, plz bring dhcb, it will make your life easier. If you can get tbow, you are gucci. Also, bring thralls to quicken the black phase.
Completely agree with you, the main purpose of the guide was to show sort of a base method to kill it.. the general approach etc, it was also I think my very first RuneScape video I made or atleast one of the earliest, I’m still learning with making content better and better!
