So I'm at a range up in the hills by myself getting ready to leave as its getting a bit dark. A fellow comes up and asks if he can have my spent brass. I told him go ahead. I noticed he had a revolver on his hip with cartridge loops on the belt and I compliment the rig. He asks if I would like to see it and I agree. I gently handle it and look it over. Beautiful condition, lovely blued finish. I asked him if I could fire it and he says sure, so I generously thank him for the opportunity (lets face it, how often do you come across someone that owns a Colt SAA, let alone get to shoot it?), fire the shot, and go to hand it back to him. He says "go ahead and empty the cylinder". I barely believed that he said that so I was like "wow, are you sure? I know .45 Colt is expensive...". So he replies "its okay, I reload my ammo." I got to keep a casing to remember the occasion and shook his hand again. I never got his name but I'll never forget that. The pistol was 175 years old and I got a rare chance to shoot one...

Now we have Premiers and a Prime Minister committing treason and the police back them up. I should also mention my mates dad had a pair of French Dueling pistols from 1700,s and a .455 webley. He refused to surrender family heirlooms and had a friend who was a QC ready to help.

@@seanjustinification The firearm was not illegal because the barrel was of legal length for someone over 16 years old according to Wisconsin law. He had every right to be there protecting his community because Kyle's father lives in Kenosha. If you choose to remain ignorant, then don't reply to someone more informed than you.

@@CaesarGB it was a late night, no sleep for 24 hours, "fuck it" decision for me. I was never one for college, but doing research on SDI, it made it more of an easy decision.

@@paullam5047 Same for me on the no college route. At least, not a regular college. I've been thinking about going into the trades but my interest and knowledge of firearms has made me wonder about pursuing a career in that field.

Sadly I was working at a car lot when that came through. They paid $100.00 per packet I got approved, I made great money but at what cost? So many awesome 70s and 80s cars, trucks, and vans with life left in them doomed to the crusher. So many old v8s that could've been a kid's first engine swap in a V6 g body, a body, mustang, or truck...

I still can't figure out why people hate springfield XD so much. I've put all kids of ammo in mine. It's always done good. Reliable. I worked in a gun store for a couple of years and I'm kind of a hobby gunsmith. In my free time, I would inspect the firearms inside and out. I found in my opinion that inner components of an XD are of a better quality than a standard glock with a smaller price tag. I don't like the springs or the trigger. Plastic guide rod and sights. Just paying for the name in my opinion.

XD owners have made themselves into a cringememe over the last couple decades saying shit like "I wanted something as good as a Glock but made in America" and whatnot

@@ReverendMeat51 No issues that I have seen or from any clients I sold them to. I know they are of Croatian origin and I don't care. I know that Springfield is not the same company from past generations of the war times and hunting. I'm just saying the firearm works for me on a mechanical and ergonomic level. It ain't pretty but it does the job up to my standards. It's been a tough and reliable carry pistol that's gone with me everywhere for 15 years or more. Original model .45 ACP 4" compact service model. No mod 2 or anything like that. I respect your preferences. This is mine.

@@blueskiesinging Oh I never said I thought they were bad guns, my dude. Just explaining why some people tend to hate on them. I've sold them for years and the only issue I ever saw was a couple instances of the striker retaining pin fall out, which doesn't even affect function (also a guy I worked with who shot them in competition had broken parts here and there but that's normal of any gun that would see round counts like his). No hate from me, I carried a Beretta 92 and tons of people shit on those too, haters gonna hate

Even then, the Hi-Power is so old the patents don't even apply anymore. While some later improvements to the Hi-Power design may have improved, firearm patents only last 17 years. Anybody can make a Hi-Power as long as they use the old-school style or do their own spin instead of incorporating the more modern design changes.
