And that's why I hate playing on the internet. Opponents snap play opening moves and then when they blunder start thinking. No plans just flag your opponent who tries to think about their moves. And you can see this guys is rated 1700. Watching professionals and playing over the board is so much better. Thank you for the lessons on the london alex!

That was a slick deflection. Didn't see how it worked at first if he just moves his king instead. But then his a8 rook falls at the end of the line. Super nice games overall. It helps when opponents play solid chess, allowing you to show us more positional play and sneaky tactical motifs.

At 1:22:51, would Ra1 have forced B's rook off the a-file? He can't take because of mate and he can't retake w/ the B for the same reason. If he protects w/ Qb8 then Bxd6. Qc8 unprotects two pawns and Qd8 allows Rxa8, Qxa8 and one of the pawns drops. Or did I miss a basic tactic?

When Alex does not display Alex can be very good. Here there is no snarky bo bo shooting and that makes for a much better video.

Hey Alex, 1:16:35 here, can you explain why be7 creates/increases a threat of nh5? I’m in your course and it’s mentioned in there too, but not why?

At 1.12 there was a missed en passant mate. That would have been a boss move. Really enjoying your content. Keep it up mate.
@fuchfe97

No, Rxh6 prevents mate, but would lose the rook for white's bishop if you take back.

1:22:10 I'd be tempted to play a little hope chess with Ra1 "Oh no! My rook!"

Oh, I see now Alex addressed that move in the post- mortem.

In game two, I do not understand why doubling our pawns on the D file is good for us, but you say poor when the opponent does it?
@walterbrownstone8017

You can make a few embarrassing moves and still get 90%. Sometimes it happens to me but usually I make more than a few embarrassing moves and I don't get 90%.

Pro tip, on mobile (android) close RU-vid, go to app settings, select RU-vid and erase cache memory. Then start RU-vid again and load the video. Then the audio works
