USWNT co-captain and NWSL Orlando Pride star striker, Alex Morgan speaks exclusively one-on-one with SNY TV after returning home from France with the Women's World Cup ("WWC") trophy in-hand. Alex told SNY that Team USA is more than just a soccer team; they're America's team and they will continue to push the needle forward for female empowerment, especially in the battle for equal pay.
The USWNT won the WWC for the second consecutive time and fourth overall in franchise history by defeating the Netherlands 2-0 in the final held on July 7th, 2019 at Stade de Lyon in France. Morgan won the silver ball as the second top scorer of the tournament, having been level on points with six goals and three assists with Megan Rapinoe ("Pinoe") but having played more minutes (the tiebreaker), the golden ball for top scorer went to Pinoe instead.
