Alex beat him until his soul started coming out.. just one good flying knee up against that cage would have separated his soul from his body completely.. and sent him up to the ghost club.
He's huge, has extremely dense muscles with a lot of fast-twitch fibers, and he's got great snap. Truly a menacing individual. I also think his precision is underrated. He's not the fastest, but he has great shot placement.
He has GIGANTIC hands, if you've ever seen him in Glory standing next to one heavyweights which are 6'10 6'11 his hands are bigger than all of them...bro was built to KO people
@@IordanIovkov he really does have both power and precision. Maybe not the hardest hitting guy but the fact that he has a good amount of power and insane precision makes him a scary dude...
@@IordanIovkov Bro he's got excellent precision. It's some of the cleanest striking I've seen in MMA. And you're right about his muscle density. Heavy bones and all that play a huge role in power. I mean look at George Foreman, he was slow af but he's probably the hardest puncher ever.
That’s 3-0 against Izzy with 2 stoppages Alex said it himself before the fight “it must be very hard for him” he’s going to have nightmares of Alex for a while...
Everyone talking about izzy 0-3 against pereira but no one talks about mojahed being the goat for bringing this quality animations only couple hours after the fight
Well Jones is just prolonging his agony too. He too deserves a beating in meeting Ngannou. Probably that will be a reality if he Jones will be brave enough.
@@joshuatree552 he's so scared of nganou he's been bulking and training for 2 years to go up snd tight stipe snd Francis right? 🤦♂️ sheesh you mma "fans"
I'm Brazilian and Poatan literally said "Pronto pra matar (ready to kill)" when the referee ask "are you ready?" in 5rd. A true warrior soul! Also congrats to Adesanya for a fkin legendary fight
@@bharathikb8116 Nah he was flopping and bubbling like a fish. Sadly Adesanya wasn't frozen like Elsa. He was flaccid like fishy Finn, numb like Nemo, and saggy like Squidward
The thing I think got missed by many (I only confirmed it with a rewatch a few mins ago) was that Pereira also looked to have had Izzy hurt pretty bad as Rd.4 ended. He hit Izzy with that left on the cage, & Izzy kinda floated right and started to slump, and Pereira hit him again with a right and seemingly knocked sense back in to him as the bell rang. Props to Izzy, though, he seemed to shrug it off going back to his corner. Underrated chin. This really was like a horror movie, though- Killers coming back from the dead.
@@bundleofhumble3119 few seconds more and Gynosanya was KO vs Gastelum. Also Gyno vs Witaker 2, Witaker outstruck him and had more controle time on officaial ufc site state but he stil lose
Izzy was actually doing great avoiding Alex's left hook. He ducked it, blocked it with his right hand, he even rolled with it but he couldn't prepare himself for the right uppercut in the 5th. Edit - It was the right uppercut first that rattled Izzy enough for the follow up left hook which ended him.
He was coasting in that 5th that was the difference Even all the analyst's say the same Peirera came to KO him in that 5th while izzys corner were sure they would win a comfortable decision (which is true)
@@gigachad6885 No, if Deontay Wilder fought Tyson Fury in an MMA ring then Deontay Wilder would've been 3-0 against Tyson Fury because unlike boxing, in MMA once your opponent gets KOed the referee immediately tries to stop the match because there is no 10 count system. Also, there is a huge difference in boxing skills between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury whereas between Alex and Izzy, there is not a huge difference in skills even though Izzy is slightly a better kickboxer than Alex.
@@Ahmed_Asif You didn't take clinching into account. Wilder would've been manhandled on the clinch. Have you seen their size difference and the way Fury tires him out by just leaning on him?
The fact that Poatan started training for combat sport at the age of 21 is pretty sick and unbelievable, imagine if he had started earlier like most of the fighter? He would have been the best ever to do it. Even more skilled and higher fighting IQ then Jones.
Thats just bull toddle. It doesnt matter what age you start fighting your only going to be as good as you can get. Many people train from a young age and ammount to nothing in their pro careers. Hes already peaking at his best
Fr my heart was racing the entire time it was such a tense feeling and then izzy clipped him at the end of the first which reassured the feeling over the entire fight
@@62ZAKA bro when Alex got wobbled in round one I actually lost so much hope bro 😭 props to him though, total fucking warrior, respect to Izzy too. I was really happy about it but then I thought about how adesanya must feel about it and I felt shitty for him.
Almost made it to the realm twice. My brain said izzy would win but i wanted Alex to win. What an amazing card last night. No judges needed in main card. Prelims were lit too.
Alex got shook in that kickboxing match too. But was saved by the counter. Here it was right at the end of the round. When I saw him recovered, at the beginning of 3rd. I thought Izzy is in real danger now. History is repeating itself.
@@Colbmaker Nah he threw the punch before the bell rang and the punch landed after the punch. It's not like Alex put his hands down and was walking back to his corner. He was actually almost done. He needed help walking back. Also watch the fight. Don't spew hater rhetoric. He doesn't own Adesanya. In fact after watching all 3 of their fights, Adesanya is clearly the better fighter. He outclasses Alex in everything except power. Alex's power is simply enough to outweigh all his flaws.
@@lykastannis7662 punch was after the bell whether you like it or not and fight was pretty close actually it’s not like izzy dominated… so pretty much you’re saying pereira got lucky 3 times well he’s about to get lucky for 4th time if izzy wants the rematch
@@Colbmaker No it wasn't luck. Power is just such a significant equalizer. Peirera has won 2 losing fights against Adesanya with his power. Doesn't change the fact that their overall skills were put on display 3 times and Adesanya (in my opinion) is clearly the superior fighter overall. An example would be with Leon vs Usman 2. Nobody actually think Leon is better than Usman. But Leon won the fight fair and square with a well calculated shot. No luck. He needed a knockout just like Alex did. My point is that the better fighter doesn't always win. Also Adesanya definitely looked far superior for most of that fight. Round 3 could have been a 10-8 round. He almost finished him in round 1 whether you like it or not. Round 2 and 4 were close on stats, but Adesanya was more in control and confident. Look at any of Izzy's fights. He didn't dominate Vettori, Romero, Cannonier, or Whittaker according to stats. But he did enough to clearly win.
This happened already 3 times this year in title fights. Glover was piecing Jiri til he got the last second win, Edwards was being dominated by Usman. Now Alex did the same to izzy who was winning by a good margin going in the 5th round.
There’s something about losing the world title you fought so much to win, and fought so hard to defend for so long, losing it to an old rival who chased you from another sport, and then hearing Jon Jones say “Youuuu deseeeeerve iiiitttt” that makes it so much more disrespectful 😂
Alex was a f*ing beast. He definitely needs to work on his ground game for sure if he comes up against other notable 85ers like Whittaker , Vettori and Costa. But congrats to him. The Elsa reference coming from Jones really sealed the deal 🤣🤣
It's close enough to the buzzer to be understandable, but it was hilarious hearing DC immediately jump to defend Izzy after he landed a nasty shot after the bell.
What's annoying me is that he wasn't ko'd this time, and when they said he wasn't even looking or having his hands up he was still aware and got out of the way of those 2 last shots. He was just trying to recover and he was not out at all. I hated that stoppage, even if it was the right the decision to protect the fighter.. I still believe he might been able to fight on, remember alex was hella gassed and really threw 3 wild flurries at the end in round 5 no less. Maybe izzy was gonna be knocked out cold, but maybe not. Now we'll never know and that suxxxxxxxx
I was watching Izzy get the takedown and knew instantly that when he made the video there was gonna be a "Oh, so you're a wrestler now. You're a wrestler." moment. Glad he didn't disappoint.
Haha brilliant ending. The googley eyed 'it was just my leg' after having been saved from what wouldve been a terrible ko after being out on his feet several shots already. So on point. Izzy not the kind of guy to admit defeat though. Shame, he might learn something if he did.
@@Cucumberdrx Ehhhh, its not classy to disagree with the referee stoppage. The man is a narcissist and puts on a tough guy persona. He recognized his losses, he didn't "give credit" and he still complained and downplayed how compromised he was.
@@calvindevries Nearly every fighter "stopped" by the referee says the same thing. By saying he disagreed with the stoppage, that makes him neither narcissistic, nor a bad sport. In addition, his comments about the stoppage were immediately following the fight. I suspect, after getting some rest, watching the fight again, and some reflection, he'll feel differently about it. Incidentally, I, although not a big Mark Goddard fan, felt that it was a very justified stoppage. Izzy looked like he had no path to recovery and Goddard simply saved him from a potentially Savage KO.
I wonder if you could make something with Adesanya is wearing fur (like at the press conference) and Pereira as a hunter? Maybe Adesanya has a nightmare and Pereira hunts him.
"He is just in some Favela telling his friends he knocked me out one time" well, now he can tell he knocked you out twice lol sure you want a rematch izzy?! already 3 - 0
Same people that said, 'this will be a chess game' also said, 'it's not fair, Adesanya dominated the fight'. Bro, in chess, doesn't matter if you got a dominant position the whole game if somehow you got checkmated at the end
It does matter for people who analyze fights. Like I've always watched UFC fights because I enjoy watching how specific fight styles mix. I always prefer decisions than early knockouts or submissions. When a fight ends early I'm just disappointed. It feels like the power goes out in the middle of a movie. Watching someone get knocked out isn't entertaining to me. Decision wins prove who was truly better and whose style is more dominant. Even though this fight ended with a finish, it happened in round 5. That gives people like me a lot of subject matter before the finish. Sometimes the fight is more important than the result. Like if Peirera loses his next fight by total domination, people who just saw the finish will be shocked. I won't be. Adesanya exposed all Alex's holes and gave contenders a lot to look at. Adesanya got his first career takedown on Alex and held him down. Imagine what Robert or Marvin would do to him. So yeah. If I'm beating you the whole chess game, and you suddenly have me in checkmate, the next guy will beat you with ease.
@@lykastannis7662 You underestimated Pereira too much..keep crying bro, I know what you feel after your boy got annihilated in round 5.. FROZEN LIKE ELSA, YOUR BOY!!
@@quasar8744 Loser. I actually became a fan of Adesanya with this fight. People who hate on him after this are the most pathetic people in the world. I didn't underestimate him at all. I'm not impressed with his MMA skills. He did nothing the whole fight and got outclassed. Also Adesanya was flopping and bubbling like a fish. He was numb like Nemo, flaccid like fishy Finn, and saggy like Squidward. He was never frozen like Elsa sadly.
