Alex Poatan Pereira does grappling training at Glover Teixeira's Gym to improve his ground game. -- Ig: @alexpoatanpereira Produced by Korner Management - @korner.man
I love the humility of the champion. A man who could train with any elite level grappler or room of high level talents and he chooses to roll with the normal members of his coaches gym. It’s things like this that make champions great in my humble opinion. Let’s go Poatan 300 will be fireworks. 💪
I'm sure he does both, as there'd be value in both kinds of experience. Against the weaker/less experienced grapplers he can feel free to try out new things and experiment, whereas against the elites he'd get to really test what he knows.
@@AirLancerOf course he does both but its very interesting for a fighter of his level to purposefully attend those classes during camp. I’m no coach but it seems very unorthodox. I imagine its freeing, humbling and great for low intensity technical work without overtraining or getting injured. And really any training under the tutelage of Glover is world class
His grappling started with being able to stay safe on the ground from being submitted, then improvements to getting up, now adding some offense. His drive with what he has already achieved is amazing!
@@renanprado6584 they are latinos but not hispanic. hispanic are all those speaking Spanish. However, if not for Portugal and Spain splitting South America, Latinos could be speaking either Aztecs, Incas or Mayans.
Poirier tried in all the title fights and even in his last one (which he won with striking). One day he'll make it, who knows. I'm a fan of his fight. And Poatan is very close to achieving this.
I am genuinely considering moving to Connecticut at this moment to join Glovers gym. God willing, I have a fight at AKbeatdown in October. To train in the midst of such humble greatness with other positive people would be a dream opportunity!
Yes. He should get a brazilian coach for BJJ and a dagestani coach for Wrestling. He would be unstoppable with his elite level striking and some good Wrestling and BJJ. Imagine this guy beating up , taking you down and submitting you. Scary ☠️
Wow the advancement he’s made in the ground game is leaps and bounds over his first match he got caught in a rear naked. He’s good enough now to defend and get back to his feet. I don’t want him to get over confident in his ground game to make it his go to but he’s def not going to get man handled if it does go to the ground. This makes it more evident he’ll be able to keep this fight standing as long as he chooses. Jamal is in deep dodo if you ask me. The fact he’s recovering from an injury that Alex uses as his primary weapon and his ground game improving, is enough to place my bet on Alex winning.
Bumahal is a southpaw and he tore his left leg. And Alex can’t kick southpaws that well anyway. Unfortunately you can’t say Pereira wins by leg kicks easily, it’s a pretty scary match up
@@BarkhatnieTyagi All you're saying is that Pereira will attack the right calf to force Hill to switch to Orthodox. Which in turn will expose the injured leg.
@jayn6943 it's his left leg and Hill fights southpaw it'll be real hard to target that calf, but I still am taking Poatan to win, I want him to sleep Hill badly
Poatan is improving a lot, he does move slowly when needs to transition. He also seems to be using a lot of strength but other than that he is doing great! Oss! 🤙🏾
Great guy like that he likes training with regular folks and it seems he even has insiteful conversations with them to know that some just want to better their lives and others dont even want to be fighters, jist train
First and foremost, I’m a big fan of yours. I’m glad you are improving your grappling game. That’s the one area that I thought could use some improvement. The grappling along with your excellent striking will make you a complete fighter. Head down to Austin and roll with B-team.
Absolutely love watching Poatan fight, i know he should KO Hill, but is anyone else a little worried about Hills speed/power. Alex does get hit with big shots alot and Hill also has that 1 hit quitter.
@@BarkhatnieTyagi I'm afraid to but not super afraid Alex himself said he knows he can lose but I think Hill is too overconfident in his boxing people forgetpotan from what I remember watching had I think 40 amateur boxing matches and won all 40 by ko he changed his style when he went into kickboxing but he does a lot of things on purpose when he comes back with a counter people forget poatan also has amazing head kicks he's hurt a couple of guys with them before
He is smart improving his grappling because Jamal hill is gonna grapple but he is trying to blag him saying he gonna knock him out and gonna keep it on the feet he gonna go straight to the ground first opportunity cos he don't want no hands of stone and he thinks Poatan is weaker on the ground
Hey alex! May him do side step. Make him do left, right - he’s mind will focus on his ACL knee popping out. In this way you will easily get striking advantage. That movement is one of the biggest weakness of ACL knee- left, right, twisting and turning. Another thing is, you also have to grab him, stick him to the fence-he will also use a lot of knee twisting and turning here. Many people say, you have to murder it with leg kicks. But its actually 3rd option. Make him pivot or grab him-its the best. Theres so much time, you have 5 rounds. His only option for a win is a knockout. And you have plenty. Get it, champ!
