A young Russian genius interpreter of a Russian genius' music. It just doesn't get any better. Thank you Mother Russia for bestowing such treasures on human civilization.
Alexander's artistic style is as beautiful as his interpretation of my favorite Russian composer, Sergei Rachmaninov! His hands are so graceful, and his expressions are full of feelings that he is sharing intimately with his piano, his orchestra, and his audience. God bless you, Alexander!!❤
I came upon A.M. during the pandemic. I can't stop listening. I've watched his extraordinary childhood videos and on to the more current ones, including his interviews. His playing transports me to another level. I see him whenever he is in California. I adore him and am so elated to have found his music.
March 22, 2023, three encores, this lovely piece one of them. I sat fourth row from stage center left. Alexander is a Legend at such a young age. He's without any doubt, the greatest human to lay fingers on the keys. And he's also very handsome.
The best pianist nowadays playing who is probably the gratest composer in the musical history. We cant ask for more, each part of this rendition is perfection!
I used to read Soviet Life, the magazine as a boy/it was like political porno. It listened to Moscow Mail Bag on the short wave. I remember Van Cliburn wining the Tchaikovsky competition. He din't give a fig about such@@suminion_o
An absolute masterpiece this interpretation of the beautiful song. Everything is perfect, the sound is very elegant, the way he touches the keyboard is special. . Here the hands move with unparalleled elegance and sophistication on the keyboard. A total enchantment. And I make my own a comment from a person in Seoul at the end of December 2023, a few days ago: "it's also cute (beautiful), we'll keep it . . .". A fairytale this performance. ❤
I am grateful to late Tchaikovsky for the divine notes he bestowed upon us, and to dear Alexander Malofeev for his excellent interpretation of this heavenly masterpiece. He is a genius virtuoso, I can't get enough of listening to his performances.
Hello - Only thing, if one wants this piece one has to order the whole of the Tschaikovsky Nutcracker Suite - a hefty tome at a price. Happy listening ...

FERNANDO DIAS BORGES, em 29/03/2.024 .
amazing beautiful soulful pianist. waiting patiently to hear him play in new york soon. music knows no boundaries, politics or division. it is the great unifier.
Amazing to hear as a piano reduction. Way back in 1986 I danced the role of the Prince in Nutcracker and must have heard the orchestral version 500 times on cassette tape during rehearsals. I thought I would never want to hear this again, but this is spellbinding.
God that must have been amazing!! To dance the role of the Prince in the Nutcracker :) You must have been a very talented dancer. This piece is indeed quite timeless, right? xx
J saw at Paris Opera December 1981 this part with Noëlla Pontois and Patrick Dupont ( coreographer Rosella Hightower ) , j think great moment of beauty at Paris Opera , j will never forget this
@@pianoman16 I almost agree with you! Certainly Ivan is in that small group of current young Russian pianists who are the successors to the great performers of the past. But I would say that with his particular strengths, Ivan excels when playing Mozart and Bach and their ilk, and I wish there were more You Tube recordings of him performing their works. But I still feel that Alexander is the 'go to' pianist for Rachmaninoff and the Russian composers.
@@rogersnook5415 I totally agree with you! By the way, The music wafting through the air brought tears to my eyes. Thank you! Malofeev, let us pray for world peace! Stay away from war!❤️
I'm so grateful to find this video of A. Malofeev. It's beautiful, so expressive - dripping with emotion. I don't care what nationality he is. It's his life's work and he is world class. His performances bring so much enjoyment to so many. I don't understand cancelling his performances because of political events he is not involved in. That's just nuts!
I was very shocked, too. I hope his music is respected as it is, unaffected by the political situation his native country is involved in. He gives life to the souls of many Russian musicians and composers before his time. I was saddened to think how much the country's mind had changed over time.
@@robinfinley7106Exactly. But I do have to say this. Alexander plays in the Russian romantic tradition and the very best of it. I may never have heard playing as passionate, as deeply felt leaving aside his monumental technical capabilities. How lucky we are! Please protect and nuture this treasure.
Why? Just because he happens to be russian?! Mentality of uncultivated morons who would also ban the music of Tchaikovsky or Rachmaninoff, being russians too, because there's a war between Russia and Ukraine . As if Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff or any other composer, who died long before this war started had anything to do with it! 🙄
@escargotT1535 The Canadians too and Alexander was canceled and rescheduled in several US venues as Boston. At great peril to his peace of mind, since his family resides in Russia(even his dog), he denounced the war. That wasn't enough, apparently. Only those who overtly express pro-Putin views and say sickening things as Ukraine is being de-nazified should be canceled. I think it has gotten better for these great Russian musicians, and they are now performing around the world. Not in France? It's not just that Alexander has done nothing but to work hard cultivating his genius, but we need him during these dreadful times!
@@larkspur77The irony of France, US and Canada canceling any ordinary person because of war, given all the illegal wars all 3 countries have engaged in…especially the USA. How would we like it if American musicians got cancelled because our illegal invasion of Iraq killed over 1 million innocent civilians? The hypocrisy… Americans voted for Bush twice too, yet I don’t think all of us Americans should be banned. Much less people who live under dictatorship with no free elections. Xenophobic hypocrisy and double standards.
This recording really put the Russian composers on a different light ❤❤❤ It inspired me to start playing them but OUCH its very difficult And for Alexander it seems so easy ❤
Nothing better than to wake up to an hour of Alexander playing this wonderful piece. Makes the world seem a better place. Why can't everybody be the same so that we can all live in peace?
Thank you for understanding and loving it. I felt very thankful that you felt exactly how I felt when I first heard his music. I was so glad to know that the feeling was conveyed to someone across the globe. One day, I'm sure, we will all open up our heart and realise that we have been hoping for the same thing all along.
It isn’t even dawn yet, but I am listening to Alexander Malofeev’s performance of this Tchaikovsky masterpiece. THE perfect way to open a new day. Soul-soothing; exquisite.
@@strangenoise-mt2zf : in fact it's this pdd is at the end of Nutcraker ballet with the Prince and her love Clara ; j have seen this wonderful pdd very far from to day at Paris Opera , unforgettable .
Belleza inconmensurable, sutil, etérea. Derroche de interpretación, destreza y técnica. Superlativo, magisral, monumental, exquisito, refinado, artista total. Thanks Alexander !!!.-
What an extraordinary piece of music. Reminds me of young Pletnev when I first saw him years ago. Beautiful articulation and dynamics. Yet another tremendous young talent. Classical pianism has never been in better shape than it is today.
USA: Oh please choose pieces of music like this that touch the heart. These are the great masterpieces. Thank you so much Alexander!!
Like and subs 👋 great video, greetings from Croatia❤🇭🇷 I've also discovered Alex during pandemic and fell in love with his interpretation of Rach and Lutoslavski❤💎
Bože kako si ovde moćam i nežan istovremeno.Ovo je melem za dušu.Mnogo ti hvala.
