Is that the only thing you gathered from his performance? His back? I believe the moment you start playing at the same level as Alexander does, your teacher will forget about the way you sit at the piano. So save your breath.
@@tuberobotto I think this speed is fine. As long as he plays it right, no mistakes correct dynamics at any speeds I think he can have it as speed as he wants,
@@albertomartin4812 There's a performance by him of the Prokofiev 3rd here on youtube that I believe will finally be considered the definitive performance. It's beyond anything I've ever heard in any other performance.
@@tuberobotto I'm sure that he could do exactly that; but doing so wouldn't work well with the the Little Red Riding Hood piece. She's running away from a wolf who is determined to kill and eat her. One of the things that makes this performance so fine is the way that Alexander virtually lives the music (which is exactly why he's sweating so much at the end). He's both the wolf and little red riding hood, and the conflict between those two roles is difficult to portray pianistically without running into trouble. This is one of Rachmaninoff's most difficult pieces, and Alexander handles it exceptionally well.
WOW! He plays it like he’s interpreting the action going in the movie only he can see and feel....the suspense... the chase... the anxiety...the end! BRAVO!!!!
I wouldn't be here if he didn't do all these things. He lives in the score. His interpretations of music are, by far, the best I've ever heard. Some bold and new, some old and forgotten... He takes the best of all and makes it his own.
He is truly a prodigy and already a great pianist. So is Trifonov. One great pianist does not play everything great, even if we think they should. None of these great pianist, including the great Horowitz, my favorite, played Mozart like Alicia De La Rocha or Bach like Glenn Gould. What these great pianists have is the virtuosic vehicle and time to continue to leave their legacy as did Horowitz. But to compare this young genius with another great genius is just a matter of taste. If someone wants to put this young great pianist down, let them first upload their playing of the same work so we can see their perspective!!! .
@@Bell-wh4vm You must be watching all the same videos if you truly know what and where he comments. Btw, you apparently comment also as I'm reading your comment here. LOL Well, join the club.
.. this is the BEST INTERPRETATION of this PIECE , ever . the WAY HE PLAYS the little red is FLAWLESS . PERFECT TECHNIQUE . NEVER REDUCTIVE . RARE . And the COLOURS HE GIVES to the PIECE is STILL BETTER THAN RACHMANINOFF HIMSELF has GIVEN . The CONTRASTS ARE VISIBLY HIGHER , with the ' LOW NOTES ' . the VERY KNOWN METHAPHORE . WHAT a MUSICALITY .
@@viggos.n.5864 oh shoot im 11 im playing do re mi from sound of music it sucks HELPPPPP i guess im doing OK scince i started in february so 5 months 😂😂😂
18 yrs old and playing with this level of brilliance! In awe here. The notes are crystal clear and dynamics amazing... Even his focus, pity we could not see the hands at the climax. Bravo
This guy is genius! Alexander could just as well be a lead actor as the first-rate pianist that he is!! At times here he played the part of BOTH the Bad wolf AND Little Red!! No oral script needed, just give Alexander a piano and...along with his body, arms and finger contortions...he'll tell you a suspense-filled story that will scare the **LL out of you! lol
Hello Alex, Thank you again for playing for the world. Take care Alex, you are an important sound in this troubled world. You feed our souls. May GOD bless you always. (Holland-europe)
I just watched the video of Alexander playing this at the age of 11. That was a miracle in itself! Such a talent and an incredible dedication at such a young age! Now, in this video, you can see the maturity and the emotions entered into the performance and I am blown away by his ability to make the music come alive!! It always seems like he knows exactly how to perform the music to make it sing to our heart and soul!
This is one of the most creative interpretation I've ever listened to. Very beautiful. When he played this when he was 11, I was already amazed and now, its unimaginably more beautiful.
Except, of course, when the blurring is called for in the music itself, he can do that, too. See his performance of Ravel's "Ondine," from Gaspard de la Nuit.
He played this at the XVI Tchaikovski competition (1st Round) and the jury canned him! I guess they wanted all lyrical and light. Malofeev can do that but he can do the devil too. And he does it brilliantly.
He really can do it all. Here he conveys an entire world of terror and horror and sadness in under three minutes. It's by far the best interpretation of this piece I have ever heard.
Well currently he’s probably taking some time to rest due to quarantine. I’m almost certain this was taken more then a couple months back and hope he gets well rested before having to perform again!
Alexis Carré, Thanks for the reply, you're probably right, he must be used to the rigours of studying and performing... After all he's been doing exactly that for most of his life. I'm simply interested in his development and worry that he will snap somehow...
YOU did it PERFECTLY . TECHNICALLY , FLAWESSLY . and SUCH a DEDICATION to it , WITHOUT HIDDING ANYTHING : WHAT the PIECE REQUIRES . SUCH a DIFFICULT PIECE . YOU WERE FULLY THERE . RARE . CONGRATULATIONS .
Extraordinary! A peculiar dark manic-depressive piece which precipitates this particular young pianist to interpret with hunched obsessed contorted gnome-like demeanour. But, of course, 'Little Red Riding Hood' is an odd disturbing fairy tale suggesting subterranean urges of a scary-kindly stranger attracted to a little girl he encounters all alone in a shadowy forest. Oo Err r!
YOUR TECHNIC, WHEN COVERING the LITTLE RED is PHENOMENAL . and the DIALECTICAL WAY YOU PLAY , SHOWING CLEARY the WOLF and the INTERACTION with the LITTE RED . and YOUR FANTASTIC MANEIRISMS GIVE a VERY SPECIAL TOUCH from HEAVEN into the COMPOSITION . and YOUR SENSIBILITY is GRADIÖSE . it SPEAKS . and YOUR SOLID PARTICIPATION , SPLENDID . and NO AUTOMATISM . COURAGE YOU HAVE , ALEXANDER !
... just beyond AMAZING! He is 'ONE' with whatever musical piece he performs ... to say nothing about being 'ONE' with the Piano. One, One, One, One, One, One, One!
Nothing better than to wake up to a new upload from Alexander, in these difficult times. There aren't many superlatives left to describe Alexander's playing, so just a big thank you from me.
YOUR INTERPRETATION of this PIECE , STILL SURPRIZES Me . it is PERFECT . the BEST , at all . it REQUIRES SO MUCH STRENGHT . NOT ONLY the CAPACITY , in TECHNIC TERMS . BUT a GREAT , HIGH LEVEL of SENSIBIITY and KNOWEDGE , in ORDER to GRASP the INTENT of the COMPOSER .
It’s hard to know how things will shape up for the 2023 Tchaikovsky. Sasha & other musicians spoke out against the war in Ukraine, and many live abroad now. Sasha is in Germany.
Good example of narrative music... Search and find the wolf and the Red Riding Hood... I know several performances of this etude... It's by far the best... Bravo Alexander...!!!
You continue to amaze me with your insightful interpretations, Alexander. Love the dynamic range, and this Yamaha piano is perfect for the clean, crisp playing you give to this work.
Alexander is the piano genius of this millennium! Outstanding performance, just incredible, unprecedented capabilities. I like every single performance of him.
