Ollie Ali Woodson is the best lead Singer that the Temptations ever had.. David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards were great Singers in their own right, but Ollie Woodson had both of them BEAT....

Never, Dennis was the best and biggest of the group, with Dennis they made a tremendous turn and their best times, Alie was good, more than Ruffin, but Dennis was the best

Ali Woodson was a great replacement for Dennis ,but he over egged it with the screaming & howling . Ali was also a better lead for My girl as he looked a bit like Ruffin wearing the spectacles & sounded right for the song . Richard Streets voice didn’t suit the lead for my girl ,& he made a dogs breakfast out of it .

@@ppwilbon I don’t mind howling & screaming when it’s a bit more subtle ,for emphasising a part of the vocal . The secret is knowing when less is more . Ali just needed to tone it down a bit , & just leave them a bit hungry for a tad more .

This show was a smash hit. It is too bad that I missed 227 that would have been shown clearer on television. Since such shows like this one are no longer on television, my television viewing is very light. I love this show! I am glad that Jackee acted in this show. I loved the way those ladies sang but the song was too short and too quick.
Saw them live in Chicago over the weekend and I was on the front row! They sang to me and I nearly fell out of my seat! 60 years later and although the lineup has changed The Temps are still going strong. 🥰💘
my mother passed away in 2020 oct 7th she loved this song i finds self listning to this song reminding me of the 80s when mom's health were good i was a child then ovarian cancer claimed her life i sorely still grieving
So sorry. I’m like u. I’m 45 and I grew up with my grandmother and her friends, so I know all the old stuff. I use to have to perform for the on The weekends, when they partied😂😂. My grandmother passed Nov11 and all I have been doing is watching all my favorite 80s shows and listening to all the 70s and 80s music. It makes me feel some better .remembering the best days of my life. They were the best days ever

Oh my gosh I never watched 227 regularly and now I found this with my very very favorite band The Temptations. I cry every time I watch them because I love them so so much with the Four Tops also. There will never ever be such a great group this this.

Here on 10.16.22 ,so this is my 2nd round on watching 227. Since there is no more good TV on. I watched this episode like 5 times 227 this was great music, meaningful and magic. Wow these were talented men. Who personally knew them?
I used to deliver Ali's mail when he lived on the upper west side in NYC...Always very pleasant...I went to see him at some club in midtown, before the Tempts...Think he was a limo driver...

@@uniquepurpose03 Yes. Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin were the only originals at that time. Otis Williams is the last surviving founding member of the group. He’s still performing. Ron Tyson still performs with him as well.
Dennis left for a solo career. Remember Don't Look any Further. And they left Motown. And when they added Ali Ollie Woodson to the mix and returned to Motown With Lady Soul. They've been going forward every since. By the way, if you get a chance. Check out some of Ali's solo work. Like my NaNa,Family Reunion, Walk Away From Love and Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow. Why is the picture so blurry when it has The Temptations oh my gosh. The Temptations in the Four Tops are my favorite groups of all time ever and I will be 67 soon. I cannot live without them and I saw them this past year and they were tired, but that’s understandable, I love them forever and grew up with them and I’m white I guess.
