I come from an 8 hour walktrough of the complete game from another channel, and boi I wish she played like you. well fucking done, on the last part when she sings my heart was racing.
i guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
It's so heart breaking when Amanda finds this message during the events on Sevastopol, knowing that her mother still hasn't been found, presumably dead.. Just two years after Amanda's death, her mother is finally found still in cryogenic sleep, 52 years later..
This is everything DLC should be - it’s completely unnecessary to the game, but it offers a really cool experience (basically recreating a scene from the movie as the character with new voiceover work from the actual actress) using the full game’s controls.
What!? The most badass character in the movie isn't in this? Obviously I'm talking about Mr Jones, the only character other than Ripley to meet an alien face to face and survive. He even swore at it.
The Alien was just not interested in him (primarily because it doesn't pose a threat to its survival whatsoever). The creature in this movie was almost like human in a sense - unlike other Xenos that kill like animals, this one feels like it savored in its victims' terror before ending their miseries.
@@SoldierOfFate that's sorta why i prefer the theatrical cut to the director's cut with all the nostromo crew in the nest and stuff. i think it's more interesting when the alien is a sadist rather than just an animal doing its nature. alien isolation gets a pass though because even though the have a nest level the alien itself does interesting things
Last survivor puts alien in more organic environment. That is, it is not scripted to check objectives once very minute. This leaves a lot more breathing room to a player, almost to the point that you could with some luck completely miss the alien outside the forced sequences. Also, I''m always perplexed when player dodges the alien and then makes run only to ward it off with flamethrower.
In the making of Alien one of the crew was saying how during one of the premiers of the movie, an African American lady shouted out "LEAVE THE FUCKING CAT" at the end of the movie. Hard to imagine how people were throwing up in the theatre, ushers passing out, and people freaking out and leaving. But we are desensitized these days compared to 1979
On Jones In the Commodore 64 game, Alien (Published by Argus Press), Jones was a major part of it. If you decided to try and escape in the shuttle then picking up Jones was a REQUIREMENT and he would be notoriously difficult to catch until you got the cat box for him. Once caught though he effectively acted as a second scanner as he would be uneasy if the alien was in a neighboring room.
Ugh, when I first saw the first movie the cat immediately broke the movie's entire illusion 4 me! I mean, it was so obvious that that cat wasn't the least bit frightened... made me all 2 aware that everything was a bunch of special effects! 😮
Optional mission objective should'a been to get the stinkin' cat! Then if you do that, you get to see the Nostromo do it's beautiful, 3-time, rainbow 'splosion rendered in the Unreal engine - and get to eject the Alien out the door too.
Excellent DLC, It would had been even better if they added a mission to get Jones the cat, or run into Capt. Dallas cocooned as well as Brett and burn them before you can escape the Nostromo. Wow, it's crazy how THIS game and all it's DLCs captures the original visceral fear factor of the original 1st film, I love it. One minor gripe is that through all it's greatness the ONLY minimal detail missing in the game as well as in the DLCs are the CHESTBURSTERS. I believe this is the only game missing them. Someone should point that out to the makers, who knows and they can make some DLC with one as either a flashback or a scene. Btw, you played this game perfectly to try and channel Ripley greatly, well done!
Right. At the very least, I was expecting a flashback with Ransome in that DLC mission where you play him. As Waits put it in an audio log, "the guy had a front row seat to the whole show." Seeing as you do find the captain's corpse in the med bay at one point, I almost imagine a recreation of that dream in the beginning of Aliens, taken to its logical conclusion.
Loren Helgeson I suppose that they may be thinking of a good story for the sequel in order to give us another good game. Sometimes the success of a game can bring failure to the sequel and also we need to look at it from also a plot point. Something that is still interesting enough to complement the franchise. Sigourney Weaver loved the story on this game, as did the original ALIEN stars, and even William Hope (Lt. Gorman) from ALIENS was part of this awesome game. The question is, how to continue the story of Amanda Ripley after finding out what happened to her mom, and not be a target of Weyland Yutani, sufficiently to "die" married and of "cancer" two years before ALIENS? After having knowledge of these events, do you think a sane person would just stay quiet or not form some sort of underground renegade group trying to topple the Company and try to keep the aliens to ever reach human society, while still possessing the same mystery as to the creature's origin? This group of people whom made the game have been phenomenal, they have a free range of story plots to create and expand the universe of the Alien franchise...you know...if Ridley Scott fixes the crap of Prometheus and Neil Blonkamp's (probavly mispelled that) Alien sequel has the ok and also works out. So in that sense, I think they didn't give us all of what we love and left the fans to fill in the gaps with what we know with our imagination and still they were able to induce the original ALIEN fear in order to maybe give us more on the possible sequel.
EternalRoman I really do hope they are planning a sequel. This game had its flaws, but it's one of the best horror games I've played in a long time. Plus, I've had a long-running love for the Alien series, so I'd like to see how else they can branch out.
Loren Helgeson I hear ya, and I agree 200%. This game to me was able to resurrect a lost link to the real terror of ALIEN and the vastness of space as well as it's sheer loneliness. It's funny too, that it had more than one Alien and yet it didn't betray the creature's sheer horror factor I saw it lost in ALIENS and onwards. It wasn't a bug, it's an unknown biomechanical parasitic organism almost unkillable. Now yes, the game had some major flaws, like although it was cool to make the alien impossible to kill, when you shot it, it's acid wouldn't do damage to either the player or the environments to make you lose. That was a big mistake since it was the greatest fear in trying to kill the alien in the 1st movie. In the 2nd we saw the damage but not enough to be of much concern and they made the aliens so weak and dumb to an extent. Like you, I hope they DO make a 2nd game and that they incorporate the chestbursters and the acid factor to be of serious concern, while still making the alien terrifying. I like the Alien "Queen" concept, but I don't like the "hive" idea, I even have a very cool idea for the cocoons that could be new as well, and based on some of the original concepts. So who knows, maybe some of the people involved in this game can make more cool things as well.
You're a true Alien fan. Not one of those Aliens unreasonable fanboys, who adore it, just because all the America does with no clue. They got some "bad-ass", american soldiers and a lot of shooting and they're satisfied with that. You, on the other hand, are very objective (even if you like Aliens as well) and show the rightful respect to the original movie without which there'd be no Aliens. If it comes to me it is not AVP, which ruined the franchise, but Aliens all along. If there wouldn't be Aliens with it's all-action and no horror plot there'd be no blockbuster with Predator ect. You pointed out every flaws of Aliens' "bugs" - weak, stupid and not scary at all. Early Starship Troopers movie. It's Alien: Isolation which is the right sequel to Alien. This game has returned the glory of Alien franchise, if you ask me. Alien: Covenant will do the job as well if it won't have Prometheus absurds. I don't want that Blookamp's shit to ever come out, as it'll move things to point 0 again. I can see another swarm of silly FPS shooters based on Aliens-only again, like we have them all the time.
I can summarize the comment section for everybody so you don’t have to read it: 1. You didn’t get the cat 2. You don’t get to blow the alien out into space. You’re welcome
Cost would br to high to do that. Remember, the crew were only meant to wake up twice the whole journey, along with the fact that this isn't a combat vessel
As a near lifelong fan of this film this DLC along with Crew Expendable were everything anyone could ever ask for in an Alien game. I have but one, single complaint with the ending. Being able to blow the Alien out of the shuttles airlock is one thing, but what I would've really loved is if when you reached the Narcissus there was a small segment were you strap in, lay back and watch as the shuttle races away from the ship with Mother counting down before it fades into the far distance and explodes. I still love this DLC tho.
Exactly what I was looking for, and right before I went into Narcissus I saw the alien on my tracker, it looked like it's inside the shuttle. Maybe that was intentional or I imagined things I'm not sure, but I was super excited to experience the very last scene. Still a great DLC though
I still say that most videos when an analog controller is used look better that the ones using mouse+keyboard. Yes, you can aim better in Counter-Strike when using mouse and keyboard. However, this game is not a classic, strict FPS. You must sneak, using speed changes, veeeery slow creeps, slight peeks. Using a mouse and keyboard results in controls (uniform speed, full tilt leans) that the character moves around not like a human, but more like an RC car. Like in this very video :)
I agree. I played this for full effect, so I moved my keyboard and mouse aside and plugged in my controller. Everything seems smoother and more fluid with a controller, at least for me. It's certainly not optimal for performance, but in my opinion it's optimal for immersing yourself in the world. Most people say it's blasphemous to use a controller with PC games, but it's a preference of mine. It also means I can lean back in my chair (not that I was ever relaxed playing Isolation)
Well I can only disagree. I can't use a controller to save my life. Mouse and keyboard are extremely fluid for me. Basically it shouldn't matter what you use .. as long as it works for you. I think we can all agree on that.
***** i also tried both (and both worked), "fluidity" is not about like choppy controls. I meant that movement is too "digital" with mouse and keyboard...using analog controller is like hand drawing, using mouse and keyboard feels like drawing with an industrial plotter machine :) (that's why te "RC car" analogue for movement)... my point was not usefulness, but immersion :)
grarghov1 actually using a controller with real FPS games is certainly harder and it is more difficult to aim, but just try to aim with a REAL gun :) you cannot do the tricks with a fully laden rifle in real life as in e.g. CS :) it is ok that it is not "real life", only a game, but then why most gamers fetishize realistic visuals and physics while sticking to cartoonish controls :)
I wish they had included Jonesy have her pick him up and put in the box, or just collect the box with him in it. Don't think it would have been too hard to do. Brilliant playthrough tho
Upon watching that, I feel that it seems shortened a bit to where all it amounts to is an escape level. Back when we had Commador 64/Spectrum, one of the best things I liked about playing Alien on that is you have to actually control the crew, fix the ship and use all manner of strategy to defeat the Alien and none of it was scripted. Either kill it, blow it out the air lock, etc and anyone could be the android. Of course someone has to be the host and it's not a surprise to see Ripley dead at the start. Much of that I wished would have been a main focus here.
Well done 👍🏿👏🏿👍🏿👏🏿 this game can rattle your nerves for sure. It captures the feel of the original ALIEN motion picture. The FEAR FACTOR is definitely there. Excellent work. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
The game have it's minor flaws (a bit dragging and repetitive sometimes, saving points wrongly positioned, xenomorph's bugs that breaks the immersion from time to time...) . But I have to admit that the artistic aspect and the atmosphere is impeccably recreated.
The only thing that disappointed me about the game (in the mail campaign) was that those stupid robots were FAR more frightening than the alien! As far as I was concerned, they should have been in a different game altogether; it kills it for me when I'm constantly having 2 deal with enemies so chilling that they make U forget the game's "star" & convince U that you're playing another game. If only there was a choice 2 play the main game without them altogether so I could have enjoyed the entire campaign going 1-on-1 with the alien... or maybe even multiple ones... I mean, I bought the game 2 experience first hand the thrill of the "Alien" movies, not 2 feel like I was in a different movie... :/
Sadly not going to happen. The game didn't do as well as the devs were hoping it would and unfortunately a lot of that had to do with people being gun shy about purchasing another Alien game thanks to how badly Aliens Colonial Marines did before that.
@@alucard624 The REAL reason it did so badly was mostly because it got bashed down by all the "critics", since it was exceptionally well made, a quality experience, unlike all other mainstream quick money grabs (that the same critics supported, probably due to rotten corruption).. The market only cares about the trending crap, no matter how braindead and low quality it is and bashes down anything that deviates from that.
Would have been awesome, if just for pure fan service, they make the "ejection" scene available.....not as much as to die in it, but more like just to see it in real person, much like the Space Jockey.
9:18 i know how to do it cause the movie right, left, press all non lit buttons, put the metal things in the holes and pull up,push the button inside(x4),and get the hell out
@@Gameferret16191 You're kidding right? Never seen peltor comtac headsets/comms? Electronic hearing protection that allows for communications and to hear the environment around you. The point of the headset jack is to prevent everyone in a 100 meter area from hearing it. Not exactly stealthy
@@Gameferret16191 The idea that something, ANYTHING would make noise that anyone other than you can hear, in an environment where the goal is to be as silent as possible is just dumb. My comment was if a motion tracker were ever made irl, then it would need to have way for you to hear it and no one else.
6:49 Listen that, loud running footsteps that the Alien is scared and retreat from the fire that was release from the flame thrower. till 6:55 hear it jumped and hide in the vent.
It is just me or the Alien is kinda ... "Laggy" in some parts of the video? o.O ... Also ... Where the hell is "Jones"?!?! Goddammit SEGA!! You Can't do a good thing without ruin it!! Isn't?! ¬¬
The only problems I have with this DLC: 1.They should have used original 1979 movie audio for "Mother" as well as the self-destruct alarm; The "Mother" voice in this DLC is a pale imitation and the alarm isn't present in certain sections of the ship when it should be heard at all times everywhere Ripley goes. 2. Weaver's voice in this DLC just doesn't have the terrified, frantic and frenzied sound to it that was present in the 1979 movie; She sounds more calm and composed here.
+thedevastator1994 True, but you have to admit they messed up with the "Mother" voice and the alarm. I guarantee Sega had access to the original "Mother" voice audio as well as the alarm. For instance, one of the alarms you hear is from "Aliens" when Ripley is entering the reactor to save Newt, which further proves Sega had and could've used the actual alarm from "Alien" instead of smooshing together random alarm sounds from the first two movies.
+Mechasonicrocks I guess that: 1) They couldn't have got a clear sample of the original Mother voice from the movie. 2) Sigourney is not a dubbing/voice actress, and you can tell when you hear this. In the Spanish version of AI we are so lucky we got the original dubbing actress for Sigourney in Alien and her voice acting is superb. She captures all the mood of the original movie and it's so awesome for an Alien fan to play this DLC with this Spanish dubbing.
+conatcha I can maybe understand point 1 about not being able to get a clear "Mother" voice sample, and I was a bit harsh about Weaver's re-dub. However, the "alarm" problem still seems like the creators were a bit lazy.
@@Mechasonicrocks i know this comment is old but i guess still something relevant to the video. You sound like you are great fan of the Alien series however .. the fact that the problems you had were those is kinda mind boggling .. the re dubbing of Ripley and Mother is understandable. The alarm was great i understood why they used it to create even more tension. But the reason why im mind boggled is the fact that you didn’t mention the fact that the Cat is non existent in the Dlc plus that we didn’t kill the Alien ..
@@Mr.PR2000 Maybe I’m just nitpicking about the stuff I mentioned, but yeah not including Jones or killing the Alien is another issue as far as creating a movie-accurate scenario.
I bought the Alien Isolation "Nostromo" package, but never got to play these side missions. I finished the game twice thinking that was it, but nope. No unlock for me. Good game but not much fun. You can only throw a nose maker in the Space Flight terminal, and blast the Alien with fire so many times before that looses its charm.
Imagine if these guys had made colonial marine's....that game was the biggest chance to play as a bad arse...still to this day... I can't forgive those idiots at gearbox software.
Where is the EPIC final part when she discovers that the alien is still there hidden and... you know how it ends. A total letdown, as the end of the main game. Still, it's a great biig big game. But they totally fail on the endings.
@@sourabhkarmakar8040 so? A quick event where you eject the Alien atleast? And also picking up the cat in the other side of the ship wouldn’t be possible?
Wait... They screwed this up. Wasn't Ripley meant to have set the self destruct then tried to turn it off? And the Alien didn't show up in the Narcissus in this... Why change that?
it was just meant to be a nice little treat for real hardcore fans from 1979. it would have been cool but I liked it. like many star wars games. a lot don't follow rhe movies accurate
598bryce Just seems odd because the game could easily have included all the right scenes. Unless they found adding a cat into the game too daunting somehow?
598bryce Well yes. Still, the game is worse off for lacking the most badass character from Alien. By which I mean the cat. Who else got to swear directly into an Alien's face from point blank range and survive?
