I never thought I'd see a recap of this amazing anime, even if you've finished watching this recap, I still highly recommend watching the full show.

Honestly, the merging is a red herring . i mean, yeah, sharing his body with migi changed his physiology and his stress reactions, but that doesn't mean he's less human. he's believing it because of the merging, but his reactions are actually trauma responses. His apparent emotional numbness, calm in stressful situations, rage and strong physical reactions like feeling his heart is gonna pour out form his chest and then being as calm as hell the minutes are all signs of post traumatic stress, he has anger issues, strong panick attacks followed by dissociation. it's just normal when being a deeply traumatized person (I also have the same reactions to stress symptoms)

As someone who has just finished binged watching this show, it honestly wasn't that bad. The characters developed, there was good drama, not too much fan service, and plenty of interesting twists and turns. And how some of the drawings of Migi we're disturbing in a halarious way.

FINALLY ive loved this show for so long and it has always been hidden i wish it was a more popular show so we could get more season but they ended it really well

I loved this anime and the manga. I loved all the twists and turns: mayor not being a parasyte, gouto being a hybrid, fire and pollution being a parasyte's main weakness [symbolic since humans + fire=society + pollution=destroying earth], the based on reality responses and denial when he sees his mom became a parasyte, etc. Also the very dark depressing ending how parasytes went into hiding but even without them people kept polluting and killing each other about 10X folds without the parasytes (seems they actually were helping lower the murder rate in hindsight lol). The only loose ends were the dad (surprised he didn't commit happy birthday/not breathing after his wife died), the other fat guy with the parasyte in his mouth, and the kid whom got put into state custody after the parasyte mom got gunned down. Other than that it was a great series.

I love how migi just drives for him.

I've always loved Parasyte for just the silly exposition of viewing humanity from the lens of a nonhuman source.

This entire show is the inspiration of among us. Nobody knows who is who because parasite can control dead people. They can also shapeshift like in matpat’s theory on among us.

What i liked about this anime, is it´s preeetty the same as the manga. It just skips some dialogs that are not really that mandatory but nothing more.

I enjoyed the many different perspectives explored in this anime. Some want to survive, some want to kill, some want to rule, some want to reproduce, some want to co-exist. So many different characters, with their own multi layered motivations. Even some halfdecent attempts at science to support the plot.

is it just me or did you miss the part where his mother’s love intercepted the parasite and stopped the parasite by using her hand that defended him when he was young from boiling water? Or was it just something I made up? I don’t see any comments about this. I saw some amazing details left out too in Assassination Classroom, where Karma actually squeezes wasabi and spicy mustard into the guy he defeated as redemption for his exam marks? Or is the recap not supposed to go through these details, idk it just makes the story more exciting imo Edit: he also cried and thanked Migi in the end with Satomi following.
