Dr. Evil is more of a riff on Blofeld, not Dr. No. Easy mistake to make given the incomplete records of Earth after its destruction.

I'm pretty sure they came from that secret underground cavern mentioned in "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" by Jules Verne. A completely accurate and factual retelling of one of the greatest scientific and historical discoveries of the 17th century. Pretty hard to get a lot of dinosaurs out, but just a few breeding pairs for a theme park sounds fairly workable. That whole "cloning" theory just doesn't sound realistic to me.

Jurassic Park was about rabbits, dinosaurs are small black and white creatures that live in Antarctica. The most famous Dinosaur was Oedipus Rex, he lived in Greece for some reason.

It ought be said that in a moment of vulnerability for Vanessa where she starts coming onto Austin while she's drunk, after declaring she wouldn't, he rebuffs her specifically to avoid hurting her, which is kind of amazing as a little moment in the movie.

For anyone interested, Austin Powers was actually inspired by "In Like Flint". A spy movie from the 60's. Mike Myers realized that not everyone got the reference, so in the second one... At the very beginning, he is channel surfing and puts on "In Like Flint" and even says it's his favorite movie. While the James Bond spoofing is part of the spy movie genre... Austin Powers is spoofing it as a whole rather than just specifically James Bond.

@@jasonblalock4429 Yes I know, but usually the jokes come across as a bit more obvious, which made me think it might have been more of an oversight. The name Doctor Evil would clearly have a connection to Dr. No. So name wise it made sense to reference the character name's connection to Dr. No. However, Dr. Evil's appearance is from a particular version of Blofeld.

Why do so many Earthlings demand for more content, instead of enjoying and appreciating the one before them? It is like being served a Gargalax noodle mash and reaching for the after dinner mint and asking when is the next one, before taking a bite. For me, this dish is now a Favorited, perhaps it should be on HubGrub. Do you think perhaps the Wit is too much for many of these "Youtubulars" and they are simply watching for the sexy bouncing eyebrows? 2:17 The irony of that joke is they all have Stormtrooper aim (and are using stockless Beretta M12s '80s hip-fire style). The NRA was started to counteract both Stormtrooper aim and Stormtrooper ideology. Anyway, I count 11 security guards and not one of them is using sights. There are also four "white hats" armed with pissant pistols and three of them are actually aiming, but not one of them is using proper technique. Everyone in that scene is handling their firearms like a bunch of greenhorn rookie noobs. 3:08 He might have some Dr. No in him, but he's mostly inspired by Donald Pleasence's portrayal of Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

James Bond wasn’t the main influence on the tone of these movies, believe it or not. It was another specific genre of movies that I don’t remember - and out of this - one in particular ... look it up!
