Kinda like the " 'murica" thing, intended to mock jingoistic American exceptionalists by portraying them as poorly educated, barely coherent hicks just grunting out patriotic platitudes, but in the last few years I've seen it being said unironically by the very same people it was created to ridicule.
The most I have ever laughed in a movie theater in my life. I saw it several more times in the theater just to get the jokes I missed from laughing so much.
"...exiled from Earth for literally pissing off EVERYBODY." I bet if that were feasible, Trey and Matt would've definitely been sent "STRAIGHT TO MOON" after season 1.
My favorite story about Team America was how it was said U.S Soldiers were listening to "America, F*** Yeah!" as they were rolling into Baghdad (6,190 Ml from the U.S.) in 2003, 18 months before the movie came out.
I love how the description is just jokes and incorrect statements, but then you sneak in some insightful commentary. Well, insightful when you compare it to so called professional "critics"
Love your show but you might want to drop your audio by like 3% maybe 5%. The audio envelope on the intro is much lower so when it cuts to the new content the sound seems to blast.
Aww I was hoping you would go into the history of the puppet show movies the style is based on. I remember those movies when I was younger. It was....different.
Bloody RU-vid. I have everything set up, so I’m supposed to get the notification on your new videos, and nothing; until I just randomly saw you posted a video. *MATT DAMON MATT DAMON*
This 6:41 YT video made me laugh more than the movie. After the "America, Fuck Yeah" song, the jokes were kinda obvious and repetitive. Same with the puppet-schtick. Funny for a bit, but then..... Thank you, Garyx, for mining this hole for a little comedy gold!
So ronrey is one of my favorite songs. Also the first time I saw this film was while I was deployed to Iraq. You would think the making fun of the US would piss us off while deployed but no we loved it.
I feel like if you’re gonna talk about a movie like this you should discuss how if your attempt at satire isn’t meaningly distinguishable form the thing you’re satirising then you’ve failed at satire
That 'perseverance' joke is going to go right over most peoples' heads. Hint: It's not just a mispronunciation, it's a reference to America's president at the time.
I watched TA with my 10yo daughter (God knows why)....I laughed all the way through , she just sat deadpan. She turned out ok but perhaps with a slightly lower opinion of my sense of humor. Would an alien laugh at the film?... probably 🌴
